The Escapade.

Kris raised a brow at the name of this...costume shop, but walked inside regardless.

A bell jingled above him and Kris looked up at it before looking around the store for another human being at least.

"Ah, hello." A voice piped up and Kris looked around him to see where it came from, but couldn't find anyone.

Finally, a lean young man popped out from behind a hotdog costume. He wore a bright pink jumpsuit and wore a panda pin.

"Sorry about that, was fixing something. Anyway, how can I help you!" The worker patted his thighs and smiled up at Kris, who was still flabbergasted that there was a hotdog costume on display.

"Hi, uh, I'm here to pick up...a package? I prepaid for it already."

"Of course! May I ask for your name?" The young man started walking toward the back of the store while speaking, and Kris followed.

"Kr--Ah, it should be under Wu Yifan."

They reached the counter and the worker stepped behind it to look for something. He grabbed a book.

"Wu Yifan, Wu Yifan." The worker kept muttering to himself, eyes scanning through the pages.

"Okay!" The worker didn't look up from his book "I'll bring it out in a bit. Feel free to browse around the store." The young man bowed and stepped into the back.

Kris looked around the shop and couldn't think of a reason as to why his younger friend was...fond of this store.

Then again, there were a lot of unicorn-related things. That might have sold him.

Finally, the worker popped up again with a wrapped costume. He started to unwrap it.

The worker pulled out, to Kris's horror,  a dress.

A long white dress with swan motifs and lace.

The worker cleared his throat before letting out a spiel about the dress. "As you can see, the dress has a sheer under layer, so you can twirl as freely as you want. It also comes with a magical wand that lights up and makes sounds!"

Kris couldn't handle what was coming out of his mouth anymore and interrupted.

"I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding. I...didn't order...that."

"Oh...?" The younger male paused during his presentation, wand in hand.

He then turned to the table and slowly flipped through the pages of his order book. "You didn't get the magical swan princess package?"

Kris rose a judging brow at the worker, eyes immediately targeting his name tag.

Tao.

"Absolutely not." Kris said with a firm voice.

Or at least, he certainly hoped not.

The two of them stood there, with Kris folding his arms and Tao awkwardly smiling. The only sound that was heard for a few brief moments was the clock ticking.

Tao widened his smile a bit before feverishly flipping through some pages. Another few seconds passed.

"I am so so sorry about this." Tao rushed out, dropping the order book and running to the back of the store again and coming out with another outfit.

"Here you go, one crown prince costume." Tao placed it in its bag and handed it to Kris. "U-um, I also included a coupon for my mistake earlier. It's for a prop alpaca toy on your next purchase."

"Thank you." Kris briefly smiled before turning and briskly walking out of the shop with his god damn prince outfit.

He didn't look back.

"Have a good--!" Tao blurted, but was interrupted when the door slammed and the bells above the door violently jingled.

"...day."
