hello. three consecutive 101 chapters, because i have no idea what else to post. i think i'll post an advertisment (?) for pspad. because it's amazing. moving on -- idk, let's go on with the lesson. i'm crediting dictionary.cambridge.org for this.
the fifth lesson is about the difference of maybe and may be.
now, to be really honest, both maybe and may be are used for stating possibilities or uncertainty.
MAYBE : adverb.
MAY BE : verb; may as the modal verb and be as the auxiliary verb.
bad example of maybe :
"She maybe suffering right now." (adverbs only modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.)
bad example of may be :
"May be this was what she meant?" (this may be what she meant could've worked.)
"She maybe suffering right now." (adverbs only modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.)
bad example of may be :

good example of maybe :
"Maybe this was what she meant?"
