  Theme 4 by Youjinn

It was strange. Everything – the atmosphere, the colours, the background and most of all, the person standing in front of you – with his bleach blond hair and a mischievous smile… He offers you his hand, elegant and long, his tattered suit crinkling as he moved fluidly. You saw his long lashes, beautiful face and violet eyes –

You took his hand with hesitation. You either trusted his with your life or you trusted him with a guarantee of certain death.

He smiled even wider, his full red lips curving as he grabbed your waist with his left hand and placed your hand on his waist. You blushed as you come into contact with him.

‘Hold on.’ He whispered lucidly, his voice low and lilted.

‘Wha-’

He jumped, and you felt the air lashing at you as you suddenly hit blinding speed. You screamed and closed your eyes as you approached a wall coming up faster than you thought possible. You felt him pull you in his arms and felt your head against his chest. Everything blurred as you heard the rushing wind and his irregular heartbeat, mixing together to form a strange harmony –

A bang of colour, the explosion of sound, both violent and passive, a gradual buildup as -

You gasped as your body hit a strange atmosphere and opened your eyes automatically. Your eyes and brain struggled to take in the furious vibrancy of what you were seeing. Countless stars embedded the opaque sky and cast a gentle light. A mass of water surrounded a bright island, full with life and colour and sound – a battleship raged against a storm at your left, its sails ripped apart. A toy boat sailed through tranquil waters to your right, its toy driver smiling and waving at you. A bang and slash of thunder and lightning – a shrill note of a violin from a distance, a glissando of notes from an ancient grand piano, the sound of a children laughing and a row of tin soldiers that saluted you as they walked past. Your eyes widened as a red elephant came running from your side, you watched it with a hanging mouth as it lifted off from the ground with a huge wave of wind and lift off, sprinkling you with a pink dust. You take an uncertain step forwards as a crowd of glass dolls gathered around your feet. They held little instruments as they swirled around you – the violins, cellos, flutes, oboes, percussion, cellos, double bases, piccolos, clarinet, trumpet, French horn… You felt your heart race as they it swirled into a ; thousands of balloons suddenly lifted from the centre of the island, and it momentarily covered your entire vision. A wave of firework erupted in the middle of the balloons, and it lit up the black sky with life and vibrancy. The colours clashed and swirled and erupted, and you swore you could feel the air vibrating with the heavy tension-

The balloons climbed, up to the sparkling, beautiful skies -

Climbed

And climbed –

And climbed -

And climbed

And climbed-

And every single one of the balloons burst and popped and ripped apart, releasing flowing notes to form a discordant harmony, sending vibrant and colourful balls of blinding light into the night, flinging showers of glittering dust and white roses -

The brush of the sweet, wine-like wind and the gentle touch of his hand as he pulled you closer admist the raging and celebrating island and sky.

You breathed in his scent. Wine and cinnamon.

He kissed your head lightly.
