Chapter Three: End (Version A)
Underneath That Costume
I felt something cooling on my face...
I opened my eyes slowly.

"Are you feeling better?"
The leopard was fanning me with a cardboard.
"What happened?"
"You fainted due to lack of oxygen. And also, you didn't eat in the morning? Breakfast is the most important thing to start the day."
My eyes widened, the usually quiet leopard was now lecturing me!
"Ms Kim put me in charge of taking care of you." He continued.
"I'm alright now." I stood up quickly...and my head hurts now.
I wobbled and fell into the leopard's arms.
"Don't overexert yourself. Just rest." He push me down to sit.
"Hehe..." I laughed a bit.
Everyone likes to tell me to not push myself.
"What are you laughing for?"
"Nothing." I smiled and looked to the front.
The rest of the cheerleading team was doing good without me.
I can't help but feel a bit...
"Chae rin!" Nara shouted for me.
"What...?" I pointed at myself.
She gestures me to go over to the cheerleading team.
I stood up but i hesitated to go.
A "paw" grabbed my wrist and pulled me along.
I looked at the leopard, puzzled.
With the team, we finished the cheer.
"That felt good, right?" I smiled at the leopard.
The leopard looked at me and nodded his head.
"Kyeo~" I ruffled his fur.
He gently smacked my hand away.
"Hey~ I like touching it." I started to touch its fur again.
"Stop..." He said.
"Wae~~" I ignored him and continued on.
"Aish...I can't stand you." He sighed.
"Hehe~" I grinned at him.
"Now's the high jump! Are you guys excited?" The emcee said.
The school cheered.
"First, we have class A's Woo Joon!!! Yeah!!" The emcee sounded more excited than anyone else.
"Must be his friend." The leopard said.
"Yeah." I laughed.
After a few contestants, It was Henry's turn.
When Henry jumped, the stadium became quiet.
Everyone was focused on him.
He managed to jump over the bar!
The crowd cheered.
It's a new record!
"Whoa~ Henry's good at this huh?" I turned to the leopard.
He's...gone?
"Where did he go...?" I scanned around for him.
It should be pretty obvious since he's the one wearing a leopard costume.
"Next, we have Edison from class B!"
Edison...? I have never heard of that name in this school.
"Oh, and he's a transfer student! Let's cheer for him!"
That explains.
Edison was well-built and toned. He has all the proportions...just right.
As he scanned the crowd, girls were screaming his name crazily.
He's quite well-known?
I look back at him and he was staring at me.
I widened my eyes.
The corner of his lips went up and he winked.
Do i even know him??
He looked back to the front. Took a deep breath and started slow jogging.
He was almost there, near to the metal bar...
He jumped.
Strangely, I hoped that he can make it.
His head, then his body, went over the metal bar.

He managed to pass his first jump.
Slowly, the participants got eliminated after each round.
Edison and Henry were left.
Their scores were close.
Edison was leading with Henry behind him.
The cheerleading team and I cheered for Henry.
"Cheer for the other guy too." Ordered Ms Kim.
"Eh? Why?~~That guy is an opponent! " The guys on the cheerleading team complained.
"We are the WHAT?" Ms Kim stared fiercely.
"Cheerleading team..." The guys mumbled.
"Then cheer!"
"Go go go...Fight fight fight...go...Edison." The guys really sounded like crap.
Ms Kim did a face-palm and walked away.
It was Edison's turn.
He turned to look at me again.
I clenched my fist and gave him a "hwaiting" sign.
He nodded back and smiled.
He jumped.
He didn't jump over the bar...
Henry won.
Edison shook hands with Henry after the match.
After receiving the medal, Henry came over and gave the team Hi-5s.
As for Edison, he disappeared.
"What did I miss?"
The leopard came back.
"A great match!"
"Huh, really..."
"Where were you?"
"I went to the toilet."
"You really took your time in there...Anyways, Henry and this guy named Edison took part in the high jump."
"Uh huh." The leopard sounded like he's not interested.
"Henry won but hey, the other guy was good too."
"......"
"That guy has good sportsmanship. I respect him for that. Hopefully, he's not too upset over the match."
"Hope so."
"You know what? He winked at me!! I don't remember seeing him before though..."
"Maybe he knows you?"
"Maybe."
"What do you think about that guy?"
"Huh?"
"Is he your type?"
"Uh... I don't know about that...why?"
"Just asking. What kind of guy do you like?"
"Ah? Um... For starters, he must be taller than me. Has charisma, sense of humor...But i don't mind if he's the shy type. Coz' either way I'll still like it."
"Hmm...with Edison's body?"
"Edison's body? That'll definitely pass...Hey WAIT?! How do you even know what his body looks like when you're in the toilet?!"
"I heard about it on the way back." The leopard replied.
His voice sounded like he was suppressing his laughter....
"Yah! Why are you laughing?"
"I'm not- Hahaha!"
"Tsk!" I hit him on his arm.
"So you like his body huh? ert." He whispered.
"No!!!! I'm not a ert!" I was blushing already.
I stood up and ran over to Nara and Min Ah.
"Hey i was just joking!" Shouted the leopard.
I stuck a tongue out at him and sat down with Nara and Min Ah.
The leopard just sits there and laughs.
That guy...I'm so gonna hit him after he removes his costume.
Sports day was finally over.

"Ah...tired." I yawned.
"Chae Rin, wanna eat lunch with us?" Min Ah asked.
"You can bring your new favourite if you want to." Nara added.
"What new favourite??"
"The mascot. Ask him along."
"He's not my new favourite..."
"Here he comes. Go!" Nara pushed me.
I stopped in front of the leopard.
"Do you wanna go eat lunch with us?" I asked him.
I looked at the floor because I was still mad after his teasing.
"Sure."
I looked up.
I didn't expect him to agree...
"I'll go change and be right back. You wait here."
"Eh? But why me-"
Before i could even protest, he went into the changing room.
"Hurry up!" I shouted.
There was no response.
I opened the door a little...
He was still in his costume.
"How long are you going to take?"
"I need help." The leopard came over.
I looked at him and sighed.
"What is it?"
"My zipper is...stuck." He turned around and squatted.
His back zipper was stuck.
It was pretty tight.
"One two three...done!"
I managed to it.
"Thanks."
I can't help but stare at his back...
"Uh...you can go out now." He said.
I snapped out of it.
"What am i thinking..." I mentally slapped myself.
I went out and continued waiting.
"Let's go." He came out finally and held my hand.
"Yah...who said you could hold my hand?" I looked up at him.
It's...EDISON?!
"You're waiting for me right?" He smiled.
"Ermmm...I-I am..." I couldn't get the words out.
The leopard's voice filled my head...what he had said just now...
"ert."
The leopard's voice kept repeating "ert.".
"Ah...I'm going crazy." I mumbled.
"Pardon?"
Edison's still here...
"I'm waiting for a friend."
"The mascot?"
"Yeah."
"I think he went out already."
"Huh?! But I didn't see him..."
"Where are you guys going?"
Huh? Don't tell me he wanna...
"I'll join you guys."
"Huh?!"
"Let's go." He tightened his hand around mine.
"But...the leopard?"
"Forget the leopard. I'll come."

I took my hand back.
"I'm going to wait for the leopard."
"Really?" He raised an eyebrow.
I nodded and laid back onto the wall.
"Silly girl...Let's go." He grabbed my wrist.
"I wanna wait."
He smiled.
"I'm here already."
My widened eyes met his gaze.
He pulled me and I fell into his arms.
"Thanks for waiting."
He kissed me on the head.
The leopard...is Edison.
The feeling when we hugged...I recognize it.
"Chae Rin, shall we go?"
He released me from the hug.
Ah.
It's the first time he called my name.
I nodded.
My phone received a text...

We'll be going to that restaurant to book seats first. You know the way right? In case you're so slow and you can't notice it...we ARE giving you some alone time with the leopard. *wink wink*

"Aish this guys..." I shook my head after reading that.

"Nothing...they went to book the seats first."
We walked to the bus stop.
There's something bothering me...
Just now, I told him about HIS body...and he said I'm a ert...
"Hey." I called him.

He laughed again, shaking his head.

"Fine. I'll help you tidy it up."
He took out the rubber band I had in my hair.
"It damages the hair..."He mumbles as he combs my hair with his fingers.
"Huh?" I look up.

Our faces are so close.
My face is heating up again...
I broke eye contact and looked down.
"Don't tie your hair so tightly." He nags again.
He brushes my fringe and tucked strands of hair behind my ear.
"There. Done." He patted my head twice as a finishing touch.
"Thanks..." I was actually joking when I told him to tidy my hair but since he really did it I should thank him.
"It's my first time doing such things." He sat down and told me to sit.
I sat down.
"Hey."
Another guy sat beside me.
Where did this guy come from?!
"Wanna ditch that guy and come with me?" He said to me and winked.
"Uh...no." I replied immediately.
"You can do better..." He my cheek.
"You have three seconds." Edison looked at the guy.
The guy ignored Edison and continued.
"Three."
Edison stood up and pulled me up too.
He looked at the guy and smirked.
Then, he cupped my cheeks.

What is he doing?
"I promise it'll feel good." He looked at my eyes.
He crashed his lips against mine.
He was rough but he bites my lip softly and it drives me crazy.
Crap, I can't think straight anymore...
He parted my lips...
"Edison. Wait. Ngh-" It's my first time going further than a kiss.
I don't really know what to do.
His tongue...massaged mine.
He was quick and he didn't forget to bite on my lips.
I mewled.
It's like he knew I liked that.
Determined to find out what he likes, I on his tongue softly and heard him grunted.
I bit on his lips but different from his, mine was a bit rougher.
He smiled. I guess he liked that.
His hands went to my back.
"Ah!!"
Our lips parted and because my back was sensitive.
"Go get a room!"
We totally forgot about the stranger dude.
His face was red as a tomato as he boarded the bus that came.
Edison blinked a few times, then he finally realized what he did.
"I'm sorry..."He rubbed the back of his neck and looked everywhere except for my eyes.
I don't know what to reply him since I responded to his kiss.
Before the two of us could say anything else, our bus came.
On the bus, we couldn't even look at each other nor start a conversation.
Finally, we reached the restaurant.
"You guys really took your own sweet time huh? The two of us are starving!" Nara complained.
"I'm sorry."

"So, did anything happen?" Min Ah nudged me.
"...Nothing." I replied.
But the images of us kissing replayed...
"You're blushing! Don't lie...tell us~" Nara said.
"We...kissed."
Nara's mouth formed an O and Min Ah patted me on the back.
"Good job!" Min Ah gave me a thumbs up.
I mouthed a "You wanna die?" to her.
"Wa~ You have a boyfriend and you're throwing us away..." Nara sobbed dramatically.
"No!! He's not my boyfriend.Just friends." I sipped my drink.
"Yeah, friends. Friends with benefits?"
I choked on the juice I was drinking.
A hand patted my back.
"Are you okay?"
"Thanks..."I managed to reply.
"I heard you've kissed our Chae Rin. So are you going to take responsibility?" Min Ah asked Edison.
"Min Ah!" I shouted at her...why did she have to do that...
"I will. I like her."
What!?
Edison held my hand under the table.
He held it tightly.
"Min Ah, this isn't korean drama..."
Even though I like Edison too...I don't want to do it like this.
"First thing first, I'm not forcing any decision. You're the one making it." Min Ah said to Edison.
"I understand."
Oh my god...Its so formal that it almost seems like he's asking for my hand in marriage from my "parents".
"You guys..." I frowned.
"And I shall leave my daughter in your hands if my daughter ever suffers or cries you'll have to buy more insurance." Nara said and winked at me.
"Nara..." I smiled at her.
"But that does not mean you're husband material. You'll have to prove yourself." Min Ah looks at Edison seriously.
"Yes...." Edison was really obedient.
"Good." Min Ah hits him on the chest.
"Whoa. It's hard." Min Ah was impressed.
"You train?"
"Martial arts."
"GOOD!" Min Ah's pitch went up.
"So you shall do the bending instead of her. You know what I mean?"
"No problem."Edison replied Min Ah.
What bending...?

"And don't you dare bully her. I'll rip your head off!" Nara warned him.
Edison smiled at me.
"I wouldn't want to hurt her."
I blushed.
"Okay! I officially announce you two as a couple." Min Ah said.
"You may now kiss-"
Before Nara finishes her sentence...
His soft lips touched mine.
He bites my bottom lip playfully.
"YAH...Please...no more further than that. We're in public!" Nara said.
The two of us looked at each other and laughed.
