(Prologue)

It's the school sports day!

 

I walked to the changing room with my friends.

"There's a mascot for this year!"
 

"Really? Whoa, the school finally made one." I replied.

"What animal is the mascot?" Nara asked.
 

"I think it's the leopard." Min ah replied. 

 

Min ah is the cheerleading captain so she gets all the information first-hand.

"Chae Rin? Are you done?"Shouted Nara.

"Yup. Coming out now~"
 

Our cheerleading uniforms are the typical colours.

Black and yellow.

Perhaps that's why the school chose leopard...

 

"Girls!" Shouted Ms Kim from outside.

"Coming!" I shouted and ran out with my friends.

 

"Girls you know the drill. Min ah will take the top and Chae Rin will lead the warm ups."

"Ms Kim, can Nara help me too? Only me won't be enough..." I was honestly still shy even though i joined cheerleading.

"Fair enough." Ms Kim replied.

"Thank you." I bowed.

 

*During warm up...*

 

"There's the mascot!" The boys from my cheerleading team shouted.

"It's cute!!" The girls screamed.

Okay...I admit. It's pretty cute.

 

But I'm kinda curious who's inside...

"Hey kid! Come here!" Ms Kim shouted at the mascot.

"From today onwards, you guys will be working together. Let's welcome our new member of the family!"

 

Everyone clapped.

The mascot...its pretty tall... 

"Nice to meet you." I put out a hand to the leopard.
 

The leopard looked at my hand as if it was an alien or something.

 

"Don't be so shy~" I grabbed its paws and shook its hand/paw (lol).

"You shyer than me..."I was amazed for the wrong reason though.

Haha~

 

"Do well~" I smiled at the leopard and patted its head.

 

"Your tail is so interesting!" The guys came towards us.

The guys kept pulling the leopard's tail.

"Yah! You guys...don't bully him!" 

"We're just playing with him, it's alright~"
 

I looked at the leopard, it seems as if it was trying hard not to fight back. 

I wonder why.

 

"Guys...enough. Don't you guys have anything else to do? Don't make me complain to Ms Kim..." I warned them but jokingly of course.

"First day and you've already got Chae Rin as your back up. Not bad huh." One guy smacked the leopard on its back.

 

"Henry!" I shouted at the guy, he hit him quite hard.
 

"Arasso." He rolled his eyes and walked off with his gang.
"You alright?" I asked the mascot.

It nodded.

"Don't take them too seriously. Ne?" I looked at the leopard's face.

 

It nodded again.

"Why don't you talk?" I asked.

It just shook its head.

"Okay... Are you usually a quiet person?"

 

It nods.

"Oh...Am I bothering you?" 
 

It shook its head.

"Chae Rin! Get the pom poms!" Shouted Min Ah from across the room.

 

"Ne!" I shouted back.

"Talk to you later~" I waved at the leopard with a smile.

 

The leopard waved back.

Everything was put into the bus and we were leaving the school to the stadium for our sports event.

"Chae Rin." 
 

"Huh?" I turned back to face the one who called me.

 

"Henry?"
 

"Stay away from the mascot."

"...Why?"

 

"There was a reason why he became the mascot. It's a punishment. He was involved in gang-fights."
 

I looked at Henry.

"You're joking...right?"

"He belongs to a gang named Flying Dragons."

"So, stay away from him if you don't want to get into trouble."

"It doesn't really matter to me anyways...even if he's in a triad." I said to Henry.

 

"Suit yourself. But I warned you..." Henry walked away.

"Whatever."

I walked to my locker and took my bag.

I checked my bag for anything that i didn't bring then went up the bus.
 

The bus would bring the whole cheerleading team to the stadium.

 

I went up the bus and saw the mascot sitting by himself.
 

"Isn't it hot?" I went up and asked him.

 

He shook his head.

"You don't have to wear the costume so early...wait, you didn't remove your costume from just now?!"
 

It shakes its head again.

"You have to take it out now." I grabbed the leopard's head.

Its paws went for my arms.

 

"Ah!"
 

He's so strong!

I released my grip.

The leopard turned to face its back towards me.

 

I took that as a sign for me to leave him alone so I did.

But I still sat at the same place; next to him.

Unknowingly, I fell asleep…

 

Then, I felt that I was shaking.

I rubbed my eyes and looked at the leopard that was looking at me.

"Hmm...?"
 

I looked pass him, and saw that we've reached the stadium.

"Thank you..." I stretched out my arms and gave it a hug.

The costume was really nice...how do I say it...it has comfortable material?

I snuggled into the costume.

 

*pat pat*

Then I realized...

"...!!! I'm sorry~~~~"

I was hugging him!

What should I do???
 

What should I even say?

My face was heating up... 

 

When the bus stopped, I ran out as fast as I could.
