rainbow on a cone

as a child i wondered if i could put the rainbow on a cone and eat it.

i wondered how the colors would taste like – like skittles or m&ms?

as a child i wondered how i could catch the elusive rainbow on a cone and eat it.

and i would run towards the ends of it, each step hastened, each breath excited.

as a child i wondered what i could do to have the rainbow on a cone and eat it.

and if i could eat a picture, would it taste the same?

i was a fool when i was a child, wanting so many impossible things.

i am all grown up now, and i have everything that i’ve ever wanted.

i am all grown up now, and yet i still wonder –

what does the rainbow on a cone taste like?

would it be like skittles or m&ms?

will it be fruity or will it taste like heavenly chocolates?

the many colored rainbow on a cone, oh how i’d love to take a bite.
