I have always been a bashful girl-easily bullied. My parents had finally shown major concern when I was 12 years old, when I always came home with my uniform ruined and crying. What finally had set them off was when my parents picked me up from school to find me with a huge bruise in my face. “Who did this to you Bom?!?” My mother demanded shaking me. That only made me keep quiet even more. “No one” I lied to them- they weren’t fooled. My mother started crying saying that it was all her fault this was happening to me. I wanted to reassure her that it wasn’t, but my lips couldn’t move. My father told the maid to take me to my room, as I was being taken away I turned around to see my father hugging my now sobbing mom. I felt horrible. “Why is mom crying?” I asked the maid. “They’re just concerned for you, honey” “Concerned?” “Yes” “why?” “honey, you have a bruise in your face- are you sure you don’t want to tell us who did this to you?” I shook my head. The maid took a deep breath and then smile warmly at me. “Okay then, I’ll be right back- I am going to heat up the tub so you can take a bath” I didn’t respond to that. Once the maid was out of my room I walked toward the mirror. I cringed by just looking at the purple and blue bruise forming in the side of my face. I gently touched it and winced in pain.
