I wanted him to feel it too so I let him have a go. He looked so happy playing on the swings and I just wanted to hold him.

So I did.

It felt… unexplainable. I just wanted to stay like that forever.

The feel of the warmth radiating from his back, the way his hair smelled, the way he held my hands while I hugged him. I’ll never forget that.

I’ll also never forget the way he tried to pry himself free from my embrace.
