He glanced up at the clock one more time before finally deciding to call him.

It’s Christmas Eve for goodness sake.

The flurries were starting to get thicker. Soon, it will stick to the ground and make the roads slippery. Although, he’s not worried about his lover’s driving. Even if the speed limit says 60 mph, the man would drive at 55.

He clicks his tongue when the phone call went straight to voice mail. He dials his number once again, and this time, he picked up.

“Hello?” His lover said through the phone.

“Cho Kyuhyun, don’t tell me you’re going to stay in that office until tomorrow morning,” he spat. He turned to face the little kid that grumbled beside him; obviously was woken up by the loud wind. “Come home now. It’s 11:37 PM. Sandeul is waiting for you.”

His lover sighed. “I wish I could, but I’m just so busy.”

“What’s so important in that office that you don’t even want to spend Christmas Eve with me and Sandeul?!” He yelled, startling the poor kid.

“I’m just really busy, Sungmin!”

Sungmin scoffed. “Did you just yell at me? You know what, fine. Forget it.”

Sungmin ended the phone call before his lover could even respond. He smiled at Sandeul, and ruffled the kid’s hair. “I guess it’s just you and me tonight.”

“Daddy’s not coming home?” Sandeul asked with a pout.

Sungmin shook his head. This is not the first time that his lover would miss Christmas Eve with them. Last year, he came home at one in the morning when he and Sandeul were already asleep. The year before that, he didn’t come home at all until the middle of the afternoon. Tonight isn’t really much of a surprise, but Sungmin was hoping for a miracle.

“Can we open the gifts tonight, mommy?” Sandeul asked Sungmin.

“You don’t want to wait until the morning when daddy comes home?” Sungmin asked back. When he saw the pout that Sandeul made, he couldn’t help but just say yes.

Sandeul ran happily across the room to where the bright Christmas tree was standing. A bunch of gifts were under the tree which were all for him.

Sandeul rummaged through the gifts, then frowns. “Mommy, daddy’s gift is not here. This is all from your friends.” Sandeul picked up one gift. “Even Uncle Heechul got me one this year.”

Sungmin’s eyes widened in shock. It’s enough that his lover might not come home early tonight, but forgetting to give his son a gift for Christmas is unforgivable.

“I’m sure he just hid it somewhere, Sandeul,” Sungmin tried to pacify the nine year-old.

“Yeah right.” Sungmin could tell that the kid is starting to have a tantrum. “I’m going back to sleep, mommy. I’ll just open the gifts tomorrow morning. Goodnight.”

Sungmin glanced at the clock; 11:53 PM.

“Cho Kyuhyun, you better get home before that clock strikes 12 or else you’ll really get it from me this time.”

“You’re going to get me in trouble with my husband, Yesung! How hard is it to wrap up a gift?!” Kyuhyun snapped at his assistant.

“Well, excuse me, why don’t you do it?!” Yesung snapped back. “Do you even know how hard it is to wrap a mini dirt bike?”

“Okay, okay. Whatever just finish that up.”

“I bet you anything that Sungmin wants you home by 12,” Yesung teased, earning a deadly glare from Kyuhyun. “I just have to wrap this red ribbon around it, and… voila! Done!”

“Let’s hurry up and get this in my car. The snow is getting heavier. Plus, my husband might deny me of if I come home any later,” Kyuhyun demanded, struggling to pick up the heavy toy even with Yesung’s help.

“Christmas Eve and all you’re thinking about is having with your husband, that’s cruel man,” Yesung muttered with a snort.

“When you get married and your wife or husband or whatever good soul wants to marry you denies you of , you’ll understand what I mean.”

Yesung chuckled at Kyuhyun and the proceeded to place the toy in Kyuhyun’s trunk.

“You’re all set.” Yesung looked at the pretty wrapping that he did for Kyuhyun’s son, and smirked. He was about to walk away when he spotted a brown furry thing at the front seat of the car. “Kyuhyun, what is that?”

“You don’t have to know.” Kyuhyun smirked. “I’ll see you on the 26^th. Thanks again, Yesung.”

Kyuhyun walks up the front seat of the car and giggles to himself. “Oh, they’ll both love this.”

12:05 AM

Sungmin grits his teeth as a rush of annoyance overcame him.

“Where is that stupid old brat?!” Sungmin complained, making his way to his room.

Then there was a knock on the door. He fumed towards the door, and when he opened it, all of his anger subsided when he saw the brown fuzzy person with red antlers and nose standing in front of him.

Sungmin burst into fits of laughter at the doorway.

“What are you doing, brat?” Sungmin asked, trying to stop himself from laughing.

“I make a good reindeer, don’t I?” Kyuhyun asked, wiggling his . “I wanted a Santa suit, but since Sandeul doesn’t even believe in him, I just chose this. Do you like it?”

Sungmin suddenly frowned at his lover. “You’re late. I expected you to be home at 12!”

“I’m only 10 minutes late, Sungmin!”

“You yelled at me through the phone, Kyuhyun!”

“I was doing something!”

“You’re yelling at me right now!”

“Okay, I’ll stop.” Kyuhyun sighed. “Is Sandeul awake?”

“No, he went back to sleep. You didn’t even buy him a gift, Kyuhyun. The kid is so disappointed. Even Heechul got him a gift this year!”

“I do have a gift for him! I should’ve chosen store pick-up rather than getting it shipped to my office,” Kyuhyun grumbled. Kyuhyun carried the big box in the apartment, and shamelessly just dropped it under the Christmas tree. “This thing will be the death of me.”

“I’ll wake Sandeul up, Reindeer Cho. Stay here.”

Sungmin had already opened the door enough for the light from the living room to shine in Sandeul’s room when Kyuhyun back hugged him and pulled him away from the door. The man in the reindeer suit started sniffing his lover’s neck with a constant hum of pleasure.

“Kyuhyun…” Sungmin moaned out with his eyes closed.

“Shush. You smell good. I might just eat you up right now—“

“Next time, close the door before you do something like this.” Both Kyuhyun and Sungmin looked at the little kid that was frowning up at them. “Daddy, what are you even wearing?”

Kyuhyun slightly pushed Sungmin away, and then spread his arms out wide. “I’m a reindeer, baby. Don’t you like it? I look cute, don’t I?” He asked smugly at his son.

Sandeul shook his head. “You get crazier every year, daddy. Where’s my gift?!”

Kyuhyun grinned. “It’s under the tree. Go check it out, big boy.”

It didn’t take long before Sandeul found the gift his father gave him. It was literally the biggest thing under the tree, and Sandeul could’ve sworn that if they were to put it up the other way, it would be as tall as the Christmas tree. He walks up to the gift, and smiles. Truthfully, he doesn’t care if his dads got him a present or not. All he wants for Christmas is to have both of them by his side.

“What are you waiting for?” Sungmin asks Sandeul, patting the kid on his little shoulder. “Don’t you want to see what daddy got you?”

“I’ll open it in the morning. I’m still sleepy.” Sandeul smiles up at them. “Can mommy and daddy sleep with me tonight? Please?”

Kyuhyun wanted to refuse so badly. But when Sungmin nodded at their son, and flashed him a teasing smile, he couldn’t help but agree as well. He knows that if he behaves, Sungmin will give him a reward.

On the way to Sandeul’s room, Kyuhyun purposely walked behind Sungmin, then whispered into Sungmin’s ears, “We’re moving back to our room the moment he falls asleep, right?”

Kyuhyun grunted when Sungmin smacked him directly at his balls.

He’ll take that as a no.
