The Meeting~ Chapter 1

The ships beckoned me to travel with them, beckoned me to come, but not yet, no I must wait. Only five hours awaits us for summer to finally come and for my friends and me to depart and head to Korea!!  Though it was our last summer, I knew this would be the best summer ever! Of course it was not a summer for just play, that’s why sadly we would be going to Korea five hours later in July and not in June. My friends and I had rented a hotel near the school and the airport, so getting to the airport would be only thirty minutes but just in case, we all agreed to leave one hour before. And now, while everyone went to sleep, I stayed awake. I kept time in mind for I knew soon it would be time the time was so near. As I waited for the three hours to pass so we could all get ready and head to Korea, I stayed on the balcony and watched the boats that left dock and went off to sea. I was not going on a boat but a plane, the symbol of traveling is what grabbed my attention towards them.

Eventually I got up from the cool floor and I dialed the number to my friends phone to ask her where she went. It was three o’clock in the morning and out of everyone she was the only one awake yet we were separate. She went somewhere in New York to go check out some stores before we left the unknown place. But since we all originally came from Miami, being in another city where the people never sleep was regular, so this place kind of resembled home.

The phone started to ring as I waited for her to answer and from the other side she whispered shouted

“Hello?”

“Yeah, where are you?”

“Mian” Rosy spoke to me in Korean apologizing “I’m at the hotel now and I brought pizza!!”

I only wondered how cold the pizza would be for she left for that at twelve. She busted through the door making a grand entrance causing mostly everyone to wake up except Jung He.

Amongst us was Sandy Brown a Puerto Rican, then there was June Smith which is an African American, Aiko Higashi a Japanese and Chaerin Goo A.K.A Rosy the one who got us pizza and Jung He Hwang the one still asleep are both Korean.

Then there was me, Elsie Selene A.k.A Sora.  I am Haitian American. Yes I know what you may be thinking, we are a group of several races, but one thing that was common amongst us all is, we are all  are big fans of Teen Top….well most of us are except Aiko.

As everyone got off the bed, one person went to the bathroom, and another started flipping through the channels with the remote. Rosy set the pizza down on the counter then looked at me

“You missed me Sora? She put one of her arms around my neck then ruffled my hair with the other.” I only starred at her with a face that said what do you think?

she laughed understanding my facial response as she said “told you, you should of came with me”

Finally I went to grab a slice of the sausage, cheese pizza, stuffing it in my mouth as I spoke and said

 “Well I didn’t, plus only you would go out the streets at this night and not expect to encounter anything”

“But I did” she laughed “I saw a e”

“Ok…and?” everybody said in union alongside with me waiting for the rest of the story, eventually we realized there wasn’t any. She walked back and forth in and out the hotel, bringing something new with her every time

First round she brought a jar of ice

The second round a bunch of sodas

Then the third round she had cups

She was walking briskly back in fourth with her vibrant red sweater which blinded me every time she came into the not so luminous room. Only the television glow provided light alongside with the bathroom light way by the door.

“Where did you get all that stuff” Sandy and the now awakening Jung He asked while everyone else waited

“the hotel, there’s like an ice machine and vending machine right there, and I got the cups at the front lobby, we have to leave soon anyways so might as well get some chow”

“Oh” we all said at last realizing that she was the only one who made time no matter what and explored the hotel. 

“You guys look!” June yelled out, and we all gave our attention towards her then averted our attention towards the television screen with Teen top singing “to you”

“What the…” I called out

“How did you find that on television in New York” Chaerin finished my sentence

“I …don’t know, it just appeared” June responded

“Speak of the devil” Aiko said as she went to the restroom, but we all were too busy to pay attention

“There goes Chunji!” I yelled towards Chaerin, pointing at her crush on the screen. And while Niel went on singing we yelled out to June “there goes Niel” we were all calling out each other’s crushes

“There goes L.joe” they yelled towards me adding a bit more “A.K.A Lee Byung Hun”

“How do you know L.joe’s real name and not your guys?” I questioned

“you say that name more  then you say L.joe I believe you’re like the researcher of the group, you “get to know” Jung He said as she busted out laughing

Aiko popping out of nowhere  shouting “so that’s why you procrastinate so much she came and pinched me
“busted” Sandy whispered while everyone  else started laughing, including me who was in the process of running away from Aiko.

Aiko was not the eldest but she acted like it and she babied us all, especially me and Chaerin. I was known as the biggest procrastinator in our group but somehow I always completed my work. Chaerin one of the smartest second to Aiko did her work during class and figured out things on her own. Then June Smith, Jung He and Sandy were like the in- between-ers. Sometimes they procrastinated with me :D and other times they actually completed their work , made someone else do it or copied, something for some reason I can’t do >:(  (Then Rosy would tease me and questioned me how I don’t know how to copy and that everyone knows how to -_-‘) but overall when we didn’t understand we all helped each other.

We were a tight group, and with this being our last summer, we weren’t sad of the chance of not seeing each other for we knew, we would always meet.

Off the airplane and in Korea

“You guys hurry” I said loudly while my arm was intertwined with Rosy. We were skipping to our hotel jolly as can be

“We are like right at your heels, so what do you mean by hurry up, should we stomp on you guys” June asked jokingly

“Stop skipping around people are starring” Aiko whispered shouted

“Oh come on relax” Sandy said as she put her arm around Aiko

“We are all in the place we longed to be, and this is the first time we’ve been here, and if they wanted to come here ten times more than any off us, they must be happy.” Jung He said knowingly

“Alright whatever, let’s get rid of this luggage and go somewhere” Aiko shouted getting everyone to move in a faster speed as she speed walked ahead

“Now that’s the spirit!” I couldn’t help but shout

Making it there in no time, we dropped our luggage and were all prepared to explore throughout Seoul but instantly Chaerin blurted out

“Let’s play a game you guys!” gaining everyone’s attention

“What game will this be?” I asked probably asking the question from everyone thoughts

“It’s simple, win the heart of the first interesting guy you meet In Seoul.”

“What’s the catch?” June asked. Knowing Chaerin games always had a catch to things.

Chaerin smiled with a devious grin as she put out the recorder before us and said

“Swear on it through the recorder and then I’ll tell you the catch, and after that you can’t back down”

“We need some entertainment in this trip, I’m in” Aiko said surprisingly

At the mall

By night fall we each had a set to wear to the concert for Teen top and an outfit to go anywhere else important. Plus since we had new outfits in our luggage this shopping was mostly for enjoyment. Everyone was wrecked and tired, excited of the place, tired from all the pictures that was taken and exhausted for all the walking that was done.

“Let’s take a rest here” Aiko said, collapsing on a seat by the food cart before anyone else agreed, but everyone followed. Even Chaerin was exhausted and this could be seen because she looked like a blob. But I was guessing sleep was catching up with her. And as for me, nothing could stop me from exploring and since I had to check my hair cause of the humidity which made us sweat all day, I went to the restroom while in thought.

I was lost in my thoughts wondering if I would ever get to meet the Teen top guys in person or would I only meet them by starring at them on stage. That would , but I was grateful for what I had at least. And as I finally meet my reflection, I only fix some strands of hair which was out of place and from behind me through the mirror I could see that  a boy was about to enter the restroom. I turned around as he started checking from above before he completely entered, checking if this was the girl’s restroom.

As prepared as I was to laugh at him, I realized that I was surrounded by boy stalls.

Oh crap, what the hell, how did I not notice that?

“Oh my goodness, I’m soooo sorry.” I stuttered this, and it became even more embarrassing as his friends were chatting up a storm in Korean and stop in mid- sentence as they all checked from outside the bathroom to see if this was the boys or girl’s bathroom. The boy whom I apologized to I finally stared at his face as he laughingly said it was ok. And the most surprising thing I realized other then he understood me was that this boy in front of me was…

“I’m telling you I know Chunji” Chaerin said this laughing as the others denied her. But once again I looked around to see if Elsie was coming from where she left but I didn’t spot her anywhere.

“I’m going to look for her” Chaerin said while she was already walking away from the group

“I’m coming with you” I shouted as I tried to catch up with her, everyone else only followed, Jung He speaking for them all

“We’re not going to miss out on some action” Jung He said

I only thought what action could be at the girl’s restroom. But as we all reached there, Chaerin quickly checked and came out shaking her head. I went in after her and arrived with the same results

“Where is she?” I asked to myself but at the same time to the others

“Why in the world all of those dudes are standing outside the restroom” June spoke while she approached the crowd and I found her shouting out a “hey”

“What are you doing June, come back!” a bunch of dudes were piled up there, cute they were but we didn’t know them, or did we?

“Why? Elsie is in there she pointed, and right on queue Elsie pocked out from the several dudes, with a guy following her

“I kind of went to the wrong restroom you guys” she said rubbing the back of her head awkwardly

“Hey Chunji!”

“Chaerin!”

I heard two shouts as Chaerin embrace this friendly looking guy with a short looking bob and that’s when I figured it out

“Teen Top” The group these girls admire -_-

“What do you know, she did know Chunji” Sandy said squeamishly realizing now she could have a connection with her dear Cap from the group

L.joe was right beside me, and who knew this meeting would happen through the embarrassing encounter in the bathroom, I couldn’t help but be quiet

“Are you still thinking about that incident” He said to me in perfect English, that’s like the most English conversation I had all day! The group which surrounded me had like on and off Korean and English talk, the others knew Korean but I who procrastinated just recently learned so it’s like a Ganji talk -_-‘

“not really…” I finally responded

“this incident picked up my boring day, I rather thank you then allow you to stress over the situation”

While we continued talking everyone was talking to who they wanted and even Aiko who was not even interested in Teen top was having a conversation.

Chaerin was with Chunji

Jung He was with Ricky

June with Niel

Sandy with Cap

Aiko with Changjo and boy he must have known how to flirt because he had Aiko blushing and giggling like crazy ;)

And then there was I, I was with L.joe. And from the aura that surrounded us, I knew this was going to be interesting

Changjo spoke up shouting out “hey you guys let’s get away from these restroom and go somewhere? What do you say, the beach?”

“At night dude? Come on!” Ricky said

“What are you afraid of the dark” Niel said cunningly

“I have no complaints” I shouted

“Me neither” L.joe joined me

“well look at our friends getting along so easily” Chaerin said to Chunji

“how did you guys meet” June went and asked

Cap on the other hand completely interrupted everyone’s conversation and was like

“Whoever disagrees on going to the beach say I” Cap said getting no response, not even Ricky said anything

“Then it’s settled, let’s go”

“But first let’s get some marshmallows and stuff for S’mores” Sandy said

“And where are we going to get fire” Aiko finally spoke

“Come on guys let’s just start heading somewhere” Niel spoke

As we all left all I could think about as my eyes caught Chaerin was

Oh no….

Because from the look in her eyes they simply spoke

Let the games begin.

Who knew these were the boys we would meet and had to do the bet on. This was defiantly going to be crazy, amusing and well a different kind of summer then I expected.
