Nerves
The Blind SideNervous Gut Feeling
Jinki looked at himself in the mirror and gave himself a proud smile. He felt the need to look just right for Roxanne. He didn't know what they would do. Maybe he could start a normal conversation this time. Possibly.. speak about interesting topics. Like the government, or pop stars. What did girls talk about? He wasn't sure what, exactly, but all he knew was that he had to hear her angelic voice for more than a sentence.
"You've got a date, I see" Jinki's mother said walking inside his room.
"Umma~!" Jinki whined
"A date? Jinki? With a date? That's ludicrous!" his father exclaimed
"Appa~!"
"And why is our handsome son going out on a date so ridiculous to you?" his mother asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"Jagi, Jinki barely leaves his room. How was I supposed to know he was going to score a date?" his father asked
"Appa.. Umma.." Jinki said slowly
"He is my son and he can score a date any day he wants" his mother said sassily.
"I'm not going on a date" Jinki said
"I told you!" his father said as if he were a little kid and pointed a finger at his mother. "Nothing passes through me. He would've told--"
"Me, not you" her mother rolled her eyes.
"Can you both please calm down?" Jinki asked
"Well, if you're not going on a date then why are you looking so.. handsome?" her mother asked
Jinki looked down at what he was wearing and it was no doubt why his mother was making so many assumptions. He would always wear jeans and a simply shirt no matter where he went. And that was only on the days he actually went out. He'd spend most of his days in his room, procrastinating or in the library, spending his time reading books. But now he was wearing some jeans, a nice looking shirt that he had ironed himself, and a sweater on top with a tie nicely tucked in. His hair was finally nicely combed and he smelled of the cologne his aunt had sent him as a birthday present two years ago.
"Umma, it's friday night and my friends invited me out to a bar. Can I go?" Jinki asked
"A-A bar?" her mother's eyes widened.
"So, can I go?" Jinki asked with pleading eyes.
"Well, of course, son. You're old enough to go
