Lost

Description

[a/n: I just feel that I need to vent this emotion out and writing it in form of a story seems better. Now, I feel good. Okay, really? Not so sure. Anyways, enjoy! :) ]

“You don’t ever forget your first love because that’s the only love you’ll love ever so unconditionally.”

Even when she was still a high school student, she has never denied the statement. But never has she ever imagined what it would feel like to feel the loss of her first love, neither the feeling of attachment towards that person. Is it possible for that feeling to return when she believes that she has long forgotten their childish relationship?

Out of the many people from her little hometown, Song Mina has never thought she would meet him in the busy city of Seoul. It just happened on that one day, her roommate ditched her at the mall and she decided to check out the new bookstore nearby and bumped into him by coincidence. Should she feel happy to finally see somebody from high school or would she be disappointed that it’s him who appeared before her eyes?

Foreword

“Nana?”

Her hand that was reaching for the book on the top shelf froze. She has memorized that voice in her heart a long time ago and she couldn’t be wrong about that.

“You’re Nana, right?”

Yes, there’s no doubt it was him- Song Mina’s first love. She turned around and was greeted by the boy before her. He has his infamous smirk plastered on his face and once again her heart wavered by the sight of the tanned boy.

Slowly, her lips curved upwards, forming a smile. Her eyes crinkled into the eye smiles that  he adored a few years before, when both of them weren’t in Seoul and were still in love with each other.

“Hey,” she whispered with her slightly hoarse voice.

There was a pregnant pause as they both stared at each other, observing the changes since the last time they saw each other. The silence was awkward to her. It has been so long since the last time she felt like this. Among many people from their little hometown, she has never expected to see him again, after a few years in the city of Seoul. Should she feel happy to finally see somebody from high school or would she be disappointed that it’s him who appeared before her eyes?

“What are you doing here?” He asked after acknowledging the awkward atmosphere between them.

She held up the novel she was trying to reach before in front of him.

“Uhm, books?”

He let out an airy laugh at her response. She has always been like that, he thought.

“Of course you are. I mean, what are you doing in Seoul?”

“Am I not supposed to be here?”

His grin was replaced with a small smile. It was never this awkward when speaking with her. Time flies and people changed, he knows that. But seeing this girl in front of him change into someone else doesn’t feel right to him.

“I live here now. How’s your life?”

“I’ve debuted,” he proudly told her.

Once again, she smiled that smile he loved and congratulated him. She has never felt this eager since she graduated from high school. Her words to him were sincere and he felt that. Suddenly he feels like he’s at home. Instead of a foreign place, Seoul feels like home when he’s with her.
