All I Want This Winter Is You
Day – 1
Joonmyun arrived at my apartment bright and early, looking a lot more comfortable in a dark colored cardigan and jeans. He brought coffee and bagels with him, and we sat down in order to learn all about each other, so as to look like a real couple in front of Soojin.
He had snagged one of those matchmaking blind date questionnaires from Chanyeol, and we used it as a guide to cover all the basics.
I learned that Joonmyun was born and raised in Seoul, and had attended Seoul National University. He had done a brief two months stint overseas at Johns Hopkins for grad school, before returning to Seoul.
He had only one brother, Kai, and his parents now lived in Incheon.
I also learned that he had once been a huge fan of DBSK in high school, loved to eat peaches and sushi, and liked the colors gold and black. It seemed that Joonmyun also really liked to play things safe, and always had his coffee black, with no sugar or cream.
I couldn’t wait to change that.
Joonmyun helped me pack a few more bags in order to actually move in and we went back to his place to find the apartment empty. The answering machine on the counter was flashing red, and Joonmyun pressed it twice.
“You have – one – new voicemail,” the automated voice informed.
Then, there was a pause, and Kai’s voice blared out. “What the hell, when did the voicemail message change, hyung? Well, I kind of like it, so keep it forever. Anyway you weren’t picking up your cell and this isn’t a medical emergency so...umm well I’ve got dance practice today and I forgot to tell you. Hyunjun is spending the morning with your PA but you should go get him whenever you hear this message because Chanyeol hyung is busy in the afternoon. I won’t be home until right before dinner, but don’t start eating without me, okay? Bye! Oh, and the word of the day is vagabond, vagabond as in wonderer, gypsy, which I just learned today has nothing to do with anything ual. Bummer, because it’s such a fun word, really.”
“My charming brother, ladies and gentlemen,” Joonmyun sighed, pressing the erase button.
I picked up a pillow from the couch and chucked it at him. “I bet you were like that when you were eighteen or nineteen too.”
“Me? Never,” he replied, dryly. “I had a brain, you see.”
He picked up the fluffy pillow and threw it right back at me, hitting me on the side of the head.
So not okay.
I think he could tell by my expression that he was about to get it, because he gave a little high pitched squeak and spun around, preparing to run.
He was nowhere fast enough, because my pillows hit him in the back in rapid fire succession.
He looked at me for a moment in shock, before a playful expression I had never seen before spread across his face.
“Oh, it’s on now,” he warned, starting after me.
Half an hour later, we were both exhausted and feeling rather silly. We had both flopped down on the carpet next to each other, and it only took one glance to set us off laughing again until our sides hurt.
It was another 5 minutes before we were calm enough to talk.
“Should we have lunch?” I asked, out of the blue. I was feeling rather hungry after all the running.
“I’ll make haemul pajeon,” Joonmyun decided, heaving himself to his feet. He turned to me, and the smile was back, the one that was making me fall harder and harder. “You make me feel young again.”

D-day
Soojin was back the next day, looking a lot more composed now that she has had the time to process the whole addition of a girlfriend to Joonmyun’s life.
We all ate lunch together at a local American diner. Hyunjun alternated between his chicken fries and coloring book, not paying any attention to us, or to the conversation. Kai, however, had a maniacal grin on his face.
“Noona, you should come see my showcase after New Years,” he said, pointedly excluding Soojin from the conversation. “I’m dancing as part of a duo with Yixing hyung an
