“Kim Jongwoon! Lee Junghwan!” Yesung and Sandeul jumped off of their seat when the sudden shout of their real names filled Yesung’s house. Their eyes widened as they recognized the owner of the voice. It was Sungmin, and basing from his tone and the way he called their real name, the dude duo was sure that the next things that would happen wouldn’t be pretty at all.

And that theory was confirmed when the door suddenly burst open, revealing a frowning Kyuhyun with a fuming and a slightly limping Sungmin behind. The dude duo immediately shivered in fear.

“Yeye dude, I thought you locked the door?!” Sandeul hissed, accusing Yesung while hastily hiding the small notebook he was writing to. The notebook held the drafts of their plans that they managed to devise for operation: Sandeul’s little steps.

“I did. I also closed all the windows even the pet door.” Yesung hissed back, scooting closer to the kid as if it could protect him from his parent’s wrath. “But I forgot that all the band members have a copy of my key.” He added with a scratch on the back of his head.

Sandeul face palmed. “You’re such a fail, Yeye dude. Now, the both of us are going to die a painful death, thanks to you.”

“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” Sungmin sang, adding more suspense to the situation.

Sandeul gulped. He looked at his parents, who were now standing just in front of them. Sungmin was looking at him expectantly with narrowed eyes; both of his hands were on his waist while Kyuhyun stood next to him, both arms folded over his chest. The both of them had this dark look on their face. If he wasn’t in that scary situation, where his life was in danger, he would have loved to tease them. They looked like a husband and wife ready to scold their delinquent child, which was kind of true in a way, minus the husband and wife part.

Soon. They will be husband and wife soon. Sandeul thought.

“Mommy, please calm down. I’ve already explained everything on the phon—“

“I swear I am innocent!” Yesung suddenly shouted, cutting off Sandeul, grabbing Kyuhyun and Sungmin’s attention. “I was just innocently dancing to I got a Boy and then he suddenly came unannounced. It’s all baby dude’s fault I swear!”

Sandeul gasped. He turned his head to face Yesung and shoot him a sharp glare. He couldn’t believe that Yesung just betrayed him, even though it was technically his fault.

“What happened to our dude honor? The dude code? What happened to our dude code, you traitor!” Sandeul cried.

“I’m sorry baby dude but you’re all alone in this.” Yesung reasoned out, scooting away as far as possible from the irritated kid before he decided to punch him in the face. Who he was to interfere? That was their family matter and to be honest, he already had enough of Sungmin’s beating in the past and he didn’t want another one that day or in the near future, thank you very much.

“I thought we were friends, Yeye dude. How could you do this to me?”

“We are never friends, baby dude. You told me so a while ago.”

“I hate you. I hope you know that.”

“Ok, I had enough. Please cut the bromance. It makes me want to puke.” Kyuhyun butted in before facing Sungmin. “Please do the honor.” He said and gestured an open palm to where Sandeul was, to which the latter gulped.

“Don’t mind if I do.” Sungmin replied and before Sandeul could flee, Sungmin’s fingers were already on his ears, pinching it.

“Mommy, it hurts.” Sandeul yelped, his face scrunched in pain. “I’ve already explained everything mommy. Please let go. Help daddy, help.”

But Kyuhyun only watched in amusement, shook his head and snickered.

“It is supposed to hurt, Lee Junghwan. This is nothing compared to what you did to us. You made us worried. We looked everywhere for you only to find out that you’re chillin’ here with Yejerk all this time. We thought you ran away. I should be spanking you in the right now like what those horrible parents do.” Sungmin ranted, still not letting go of his son’s ear.

“But I didn’t do anything bad mommy. See, I didn’t run away. And I honestly left a note. I explained everything there. Please forgive me.”

“But we didn’t find a note.”  Kyuhyun insisted.

After a series of shrieks and squeals and red ear, Sungmin closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm going to let you off the hook easily this time and this time only. If this happens again I swear I'm going to spank the daylights out of you." Sungmin paused when he noticed the skeptical look that his son was giving him. "Don't give me that look, Deullie. I know I haven't hit you before but that doesn’t mean I can't."

"I understand mommy. I promise that this will never happen again." The kid whispered. He may look sorry outside, but inside, he was smiling and rejoicing. He was smiling because he just escaped the painful punishment that he was expecting. He should have known that his mommy couldn't hurt him like that. Sungmin loved him too much to do that.

Sungmin was really kind and soft hearted. He was the gentlest person Sandeul knew. He only turned into an amazona (like what Kyuhyun loved to call Sungmin's wild side) when he was really provoked, which Kyuhyun and Yesung always did.

Sandeul could now breathe in relief. He was about to break into a wide smile and hug his mommy but Sungmin started to speak again before he could even lift a finger.

"No desserts for you for a week, little mister." Sungmin announced, a smirk appeared on lips when he saw the saddened look on his son's face. Sungmin always knew what strings to pull. He couldn't hurt his son physically but that didn't mean he couldn't punish him. And he knew that the best way to punish his son was to use the greatest weapon he has. Food.

"No!" The kid shouted in horror. "You wouldn't dare mommy. You just can't. Not my desserts." He shook his head, convincing his self that Sungmin didn't have the heart to do that terrible thing to him.

"Watch me." His mommy challenged and his face fell. His mommy looked so serious and didn't look like he was joking at all.

"You can't do that to me. Just hit me in the . Take my phone, all of my CDs, ground me but please do not take my desserts from me. You know I can't live without them. I beg you mommy. This is child abuse."

"Stop being so dramatic about this baby Deullie. A punishment is a punishment. Deal with it."

"But that's inhumane." Sandeul pouted and shifted his attention to Kyuhyun, giving him a pleading look, silently asking for help.

The now self-proclaimed best daddy smiled at him, took a step forward and put a hand on his son's head. Sandeul smiled back, a little hope welled in his chest. He knew that Kyuhyun wasn't the best daddy out there --it was a fact he discovered by himself while living with the man. But he knew that he could count on him in times of desperate need.

Or not.

Kyuhyun childishly stuck his tongue out to tease his son before flicking him on his forehead. "Be thankful that Sungmin is too tired that he only just decided to pinch your ears and take away your food. You should have seen his face a while ago, it was really scary. You're one lucky duck today."

Sandeul narrowed his eyes. Why was everyone going against him that day? First it was Yesung and now it was his daddy. Was that how scared they were of his mommy? They were kissing Sungmin's ever since he got there.

Was it Yesung's way to get to Sungmin's good side?

Coward. He said to himself as he thought of Yesung.

Was it his daddy’s way to approach and get closer to Sungmin?

Whipped. He thought as he glared at Kyuhyun.

"Come on, Junghwan. Let's go. You've caused enough trouble here."

"But mommy~"

"No more buts. Let's go before I decided to extend your punishment for a month." Sungmin threatened before turning around to leave with cautious steps, careful not to worsen his injuries.

"You've heard the boss. Let's go." Kyuhyun flicked his son's forehead one last time and immediately followed behind Sungmin, following the model like a love sick puppy (to Sandeul's opinion)

"Your daddy is so whipped." Yesung snickered, his eyes following the couple with suspicious eyes, especially Sungmin.

"You're the one to talk." Sandeul answered back, voice full of bitterness. He jumped off of his seat and stood in front of Yesung who was still sitting. "You're whipped too, just in a different level."

"I am not whipped." Yesung denied. "And stop giving me angry glares. It’s creeping me out."

"You betrayed me, Yeye dude. I trusted you, you traitor."

"I was just saving myself. Besides, it’s a family matter, who am I to interrupt?" Yesung said with a smug face.

"And here I was, almost thinking of considering you as my friend." Sandeul huffed.

"Aww, baby dude. Stop sulking. I'll make it up to you." Yesung assured him. "And do you want to know something?" He asked, eyes going back to Sungmin and Kyuhyun who were now at the door.

"What? Tell me quick." Sandeul said impatiently.

Yesung leaned forward and cupped a hand to Sandeul's ear and whispered, "I think we're going to have a baby dude number two, soon."

Sandeul's face morphed into confusion, not understanding what Yesung had said. "What do you mean?"

"Look." Yesung pointed at Sungmin. "Your mommy is limping."

"So?" Sandeul egged on, feeling bad for not noticing it earlier. His mommy was hurt and he felt guilty for not noticing.

Yesung sighed before he continued, "Your mommy and daddy were alone by themselves a while ago. They were together. Alone. And now Sungmin is limping. You're going to have a sister or a brother soon." He explained, wiggling his eyebrows as he gave Sandeul a knowing look, completely forgetting that he was just talking to a kid, and also completely misinterpreting why Sungmin was limping.

"So you're saying that.... ohmydude!" Sandeul's eyes widened as he understood what Yesung was implying.

"Ohmydude!" Yesung exclaimed, eyes growing as big as Sandeul's when he realized what he'd done. He mentally kicked himself for being so careless. "I just ruined an innocent, poor kid." He said as he pulled his hair out. What if Sandeul told Sungmin how he tainted his innocent mind? He would never see sunlight ever again.

"It's okay, Yeye dude. You don't have to worry about it. Mama Chullie already taught me the things that I need to know. No one stays innocent when you live with Mama Chullie you know." He patted Yesung who was suffering from a mental breakdown. Sandeul must admit that it was really fun to watch.

Sandeul prayed for Yesung's assumption to be true.

And then the dude duo’s bromance was once again disturbed when Kyuhyun called Sandeul to make it fast so they could go home.

It turned out that Yesung only gave him false hope. He made a mental note to punch Yesung on his gut the next time he saw him for getting him excited and giving him false hope.

"Mommy, why are you walking weirdly?" Sandeul had asked once they were out of Yesung's house, wanting to check Yesung' theory. He was expecting a blushing and stuttering Sungmin but what he got was a small smile from his mommy.

"I tripped and sprained my ankle. Nothing serious though." He answered as he buckled his son in the back seat, making sure he was safe.

Sandeul immediately felt guilty. Sungmin hurt himself because of him. If he didn't go out without telling him then he wouldn't be injured. "I'm sorry mommy. You hurt yourself because of me." He pulled Sungmin into a tight hug, not wanting to let go. He felt so guilty that he thought that not having desserts for a week wouldn't cover it. "I'm really sorry mommy." He continued to apologize with a shaky voice.

"Shh, baby. Don't cry. I'm fine. You don't have to blame yourself. It was my fault for being careless." Sungmin patted him and rub a soothing circle on his son's back, assuring him that everything was fine.

Kyuhyun was there, sitting on the passenger seat, watching the interaction between Sungmin and Sandeul. He couldn't help the swelling he felt on his heart just by watching the scene. The thought of being an official part of that family came into his mind and he liked it. He wouldn't mind being a part of that chaotic and bipolar family.

"But it’s still my fault." The kid sniffed. "And you," he gave Kyuhyun, who has a silly smile painted on his face, a look over his mommy's shoulder. "Why didn't you protect my mommy?" He accused.

"But I did. I even carried him on my--"

"Okay, okay. Cut it off. Let's just forget everything that happened today and stop blaming each other." Sungmin, who was now blushing, cut Kyuhyun off before he could spill the embarrassing moments they had a while ago in front of their son.

Kyuhyun couldn't help but to feel sad though. Sungmin wanted to forget everything that happened today. He couldn't do that. He just made new memories with Sungmin, memories of just the two of them, and there was no way he would forget that.

"Why? What happened?" Sandeul's shipping side kicked in. He saw Sungmin's flushed face and he felt suspicious. Maybe Yesung's theory was true after all?

"Nothing happened, okay?" Sungmin convinced him. He squishes both of his son's chubby cheeks before planting a kiss on them. "Let's get our butts to Hangeng hyung's apartment. I'm already tired." He said before going out of the car.

"I never once thought that I'll say this, especially to you... Sungmin, you make a good mother." Kyuhyun sincerely said when Sungmin was already seated in the passenger seat beside him.

Sungmin's face grew redder at the sudden compliment. Hearing those words straight from the father of his son's own mouth made him happy. The feeling of accomplishment was bubbling on his stomach.

"Thank you." Sungmin replied shyly. "I really appreciate it."

"I’m just saying the truth." Kyuhyun shrugged; trying to act cool even though he was already doing cartwheels inside his mind.

It was already quiet when Kyuhyun started driving, save for the soft furring of the car and Sandeul's occasional sniffs who was trying to fight the sleepiness he was feeling.

It was Sungmin who broke the silence first.

"I haven't said my thank you yet for helping me look for Sandeul. So thank you." Sungmin whispered, stealing a glance at the back seat to check on his son, said son had his mouth open, already succumbed to sleep. He couldn’t help but to giggle.

"Why?" Kyuhyun got curious on why Sungmin suddenly burst into giggles. Sungmin pointed at his sleeping son on the back seat and Kyuhyun peek at the rear view mirror and immediately chuckled at what he saw.

"He can't really close his mouth, can he?" Kyuhyun teased. It was really rare for him to see Sandeul with a close mouth.

"He can't." Sungmin stated, still giggling. "Heechul hyung actually teases him because of it. He says that Sandeul’s like a fish that can't close his mouth."

"He's really cute." Kyuhyun said, eyes still focused on the road. Maybe it was the playful atmosphere they had in the car. Maybe it was Sungmin's cute smile and giggle, or maybe it was because they were both in a good mood and not bickering that Kyuhyun felt so comfortable and had the sudden courage to say things to Sungmin that he wouldn't normally say. "He really looks like you."

"Thanks, I guess? I actually get that a lot. They always say that Sandeul is a mini version of me."

"It’s true though. The first time I saw him, he already reminded me of you. I'm just too stubborn to admit it to myself." Kyuhyun confessed, remembering the times when he was still in denial, when he used to push Sungmin out of his mind when he was seeing Sandeul.

"I don't agree with them though." Sungmin glanced at Kyuhyun before continuing. "Sandeul may have my looks but he's more of a you, you know."

"What do you mean?" Kyuhyun asked, sneaking a look towards Sungmin who was fiddling with his fingers.

"Sandeul's actually a mini version of you. He only got my looks but the rest; he got it all from you." Sungmin explained. "He got your attitude, the snarkiness, brattiness, stubbornness, and impatience--"

"Okay, that's enough. I already know that I don’t have the best qualities a human being should have. I actually thought that Sandeul was kidding when he told me about that. Was that a good thing?" Kyuhyun asked because it seemed like Sandeul only got his bad qualities.

"No, not really. I even think it’s cute. It makes the two of you kind of unique, I guess?" Sungmin shrugged. "Sandeul got your talents too and I'm actually glad for it. I've heard him singing with Heechul hyung. I think we have another rock star in the making." He joked.

"I'll be happy if it really happens. I'm sure Yesung hyung will be happy to be Sandeul’s mentor."

Sungmin snorted at Kyuhyun’s joked. "But seriously, he got your talent. And Sandeul’s pretty smart too. He reminded me so much of you. When I am talking to him, I feel like I am talking to you too. Sandeul is so you, Kyuhyun.”

He reminded me so much of you. When I am talking to him, I feel like I am talking to you too. Sandeul is so you, Kyuhyun.

Those words were so precious to hear that Kyuhyun kept on repeating it inside his head. Kyuhyun was beyond happy that moment. Kyuhyun felt something warm knotting in his stomach and his heart was swelling with joy. He never once thought that Sungmin thought of him while they were apart and that made him guilty. When Sungmin left him, all he did was blame him and thought of ill thoughts about him. It never once crossed his mind that Sungmin actually cared.

He was overwhelmed.

“Wow. I don’t really know what to say.” Kyuhyun breathed. He could still feel his heart beating fast against his chest.

They were being playful just a while ago and now they were back on being serious.

“I know what you mean. It’s kind of awkward, isn’t it? Me talking to you about these kind of things.”

“Do you prefer us bickering instead?” Kyuhyun said, trying to lighten up the mood. “Yes, it’s a bit awkward but it’s nice too, don’t you think? We need a heart to heart talk once in a while.” He added playfully.

“Shut up, stupid.”

“Having a truce is not bad at all.”

“I agree.” Sungmin nodded and it went quiet again.

“Sungmin?”

“Hmm?

“You don’t have to thank me, you know.” Kyuhyun said after a while, back to being serious again.

“Huh?”

“Me, helping you to look for Sandeul. You don’t have to thank me for it.”

“Why?” Sungmin titled his head, his attention focused on Kyuhyun.

“Because he is our son, Sungmin. Sandeul is my son too.” Was Kyuhyun’s simple answer.

A simple answer that Sungmin immediately understood. A simple answer that touched his heart. “You’re right Kyuhyun. You’re right. And I should stop being a bish about it.”

“Oh yes please, that would be lovely.” Kyuhyun commented.

“Is that your subtle way of saying that I’m really a bish?”

“I didn’t say a thing. I just agreed. But come to think of it…”

“We can’t last a minute without bickering, can we?” Sungmin chuckled.

“That’s what makes us an interesting coupl—“ Kyuhyun faked a cough when he realized what he’d just said.

Couple? You are such a creep Kyuhyun. You and Sungmin are already getting along just fine. Don’t creep him out. He mentally told himself.

“I mean, we’re interesting and awesome like that Sungmin. You should have known it by now.”

“You’re weird, you know that?” Sungmin teased.

“I guess Yesung hyung is rubbing on me.”

“No doubt. But seriously Kyuhyun, thank you.” Sungmin said with all sincerity.

“It’ okay Sungmin. I’ll do anything for you and Sandeul.” Kyuhyun replied, as sincere as Sungmin was.

xxx

“Another minute of staring and my mommy will probably start to melt into nothing.” Kyuhyun jolted from his seat, stopping him from staring at the beauty that was sleeping in the passenger seat. Sungmin fell asleep again after their talk. He was really that tired.

“I am not staring.” Kyuhyun denied, composing himself.

“Whatever you said daddy, whatever you said.” Sandeul sang. Kyuhyun could deny all he wanted but that wouldn’t change the fact that he caught him staring, or was he ogling? At his mommy.

“Aren’t you supposed to be peacefully sleeping?”

“Aren’t you supposed to be waking up my mommy instead of just gawking at him?” Sandeul asked back.

Kyuhyun cursed inside his head. Sandeul was good, too good; he couldn’t even win against him.

“You still like my mommy, don’t you?” Sandeul teased when he didn’t get a reply from Kyuhyun.

“No I don’t.” Kyuhyun denied again.

“You do~”

“No I don’t.” He repeated and also contemplated on wringing the kid’s neck by now.

“You love my mommy~”

“Shut up, Sandeul. You’re going to wake Sungmin.” Kyuhyun hissed.

“Just admit it daddy and I’ll shut up.”

“I don’t have anything to admit so shut up. Your mommy is tired, let him sleep.” Kyuhyun scolded the kid.

“Fine. You’re no fun, daddy.” Sandeul huffed and went outside the car.

Kyuhyun was about to resume his staring when he heard someone knocking on the car’s window. He let out a sigh when he saw who it was. It was Sandeul, who else?

“What do you want?” He asked after rolling the window down.

“Just carry mommy inside. I know you want to~” Sandeul teased one last time before going inside Hangeng’s apartment.

One day, one day he would make his own son shut up in his own. One day.

At the end, he ended up taking Sandeul’s suggestion, earning him teasing looks when the kid spotted him carrying Sungmin bridal style.

“Where should I put him?” Kyuhyun asked Heechul and Hangeng who were casually lounging in the living room.

“Guest room.” It was Hangeng who answered.

“Thanks.” Kyuhyun muttered and made his way towards the guestroom.

Kyuhyun kneeled beside the bed once he settled Sungmin down. And out of instinct, he started to brush the stray hair that was covering Sungmin’s face and played with his hair afterwards. He knew Sungmin love it when someone played with his hair.

He was too focused on what he was doing. Too focused on admiring the sleeping man that he didn’t notice Sandeul creeping in.

“You can kiss him, you know. I swear I won’t tell.” The kid said, and to Kyuhyun’s surprise, Sandeul was actually serious.

“I’d rather not. Sandeuckie.” Kyuhyun said even if he really wanted to. “That’s taking advantage.”

“Are you sure, daddy? I really promise I won’t tell.” Sandeul persisted.

“I’m sure, little duck. Now stop bugging me. I am having a moment here. Shoo.” Kyuhyun shooed his son away. The kid was a bit reluctant at first but still complied.

“That kid can really be annoying sometimes.” Kyuhyun shook his head. “But he was right though. What he said a while ago was right. I still like you, Sungmin.” He confessed to the still sleeping Sungmin. “I still like you.”

Kyuhyun reached forward and gave Sungmin a gentle peck on his forehead.

“Thank you for coming back.” He whispered.

Part B

[please read my note below.. thank you~ ^^]

"Mr. Cotton Candy, where are you? When will you come?" Sandeul whined over the phone, talking to his new friendBaro.

'Ya! Junghwan, can't you wait? Hyukkie hyung said we'll be there in... wait, let me ask him again.' Sandeul heaved an impatient sigh. 'He said we'll be there in about ten minutes.'

"That’s still far away." Sandeul whined again. "Make it fast."

'Stop being so demanding. And stop telling me to go faster. I'm not even the one who’s driving.'

"Did I say that you're the one who’s driving? Just tell it to the monkey ahjussi."

‘Hyukkie hyung, Lee Junghwan, the fat brat, told me to tell you to drive faster.' Sandeul heard Baro talking to Hyukjae. 'There I said it, happy now?'

"Yup."

‘Good. Now I'll hang up before you drill a hole in my eardrum. Bye!'

"Cha Baro! Don't you dare hang up on me!"

tooooooot~

"Wait!"

tooooooot tooooooot tooooooot~

"That Cha Baro! He hung up on me! So Annoying!" Sandeul wailed as he heard the dial tone, slamming his phone down on the couch before grabbing his banana milk on the coffee table, sipping half of its content to calm himself.

"Yes, that kid is annoying so you should stop being friends with him." Yesung butted in, agreeing to what Sandeul just said as he sipped on his own chocolate milk.

Yesung's voice made Sandeul realized that he was not alone that moment. He was too focused talking to Baro that he nearly forgot that  almost half of the gang (as what he likes to call it) was there, watching him with amusement (save for Yesung) while he talk slash bicker with the other kid over the phone.

Hangeng, Heechul, Yesung and Siwon were there, chillin' in Hangeng's living room with a coffee table full of different kinds of snacks, snacks that were bought by Yesung for Sandeul as a way of making up for betrayingsaid kid. It was also a way of preparing before Sandeul went to his one week with no desserts diet.

Sandeul called the four people mentioned, plus Hyukjae and Baro who were still on their way, as his recruits. He gathered them all to discuss and ask for help for his Operation: Sandeul’s little steps.

"Are you still jealous of that kid?" Hangeng asked playfully while eyeing the frowning Yesung.

"I am not jealous of that kid. Why would I be jealous of a kid?" Yesung denied. "I was just saying my opinion. I'm sure Kyuhyun will agree with me too."

"Yes he will." Heechul snorted. "Because both of you are jealous of this Baro kid taking Sandeullie's attention away from you."

"Anywayyyyy~" Yesung egged on, “Speaking of Kyuhyun, where's the brat?" He started looking around, trying to locate their youngest, and successfully changing the subject.

"We shooed him out before you arrived." Heechul answered while lazily checking his nails.

"How?" The guitarist's eyebrows furrowed, confused on how they managed to drag Kyuhyun out of Hangeng’s house knowing that Sungmin was there.

"We asked him to get us some food from that famous Italian Restaurant."

Yesung's eyebrows furrowed more, face scrunched in confusion. "But that restaurant is an hour away from here."

"Exactly."

"How?" The guitarist asked again. Kyuhyun was never the type to succumb to someone's request that easily, especially when the request was something silly like that. Kyuhyun driving an hour just to buy some food? That wasn't so Kyuhyun at all.

"He was protesting at first of course." Heechul said first, seeing the skeptical look on Yesung's face. "Then we told him that Sungmin wanted to eat from that certain Italian restaurant ever since he came back to Korea. Three seconds and the brat was already out of the door."

"Oh." Yesung blinked. "Oh." He mumbled in realization. "Whipped."
