First Date.
Holding On To You
“Soojung-ah, are you inside?” Changmin knocked on her bedroom door. The door opened showing his cousin in a tank and shorts. “Oppa, wae?”
“Errr uhhh,” Changmin scratched the back of his head. “How do I look?”
Soojung looked at him like he was crazy. He looked exactly the same as he usually did, with the scarf around his neck. Then it hit her and she grinned widely. “Who’re you goin’ out with?”
“Joohyun,” Changmin said nervously. “Why?”
“Ohhhhh… Unni! Oppa’s going on a date with Joohyun unni!” Changmin quickly covered and pushed her into the room. Sooyeon got up from the divan and exclaimed, “Joohyun?! Why Joohyun?”
“Because I like her?” Changmin said in a matter-of-fact tone. Sooyeon simply kept quiet from insulting. “What time is the date?” she asked with a straight face.
“7.”
“Oppa! It’s only 5!” Soojung laughed. “Why are you going out so early?”
“I don’t know! I’ve never been so nervous before!” Changmin exclaimed, ruffling his hair vigorously.
“Well, what are you doing?”
“Dinner and movie,” he said causally.
“And you’re going dressed like that?!” Soojung exclaimed. Sooyeon sniggered. “That’s too much for a dinner and movie! Unni,” she said pulling Sooyeon up. “We need to get him dressed up!”
Changmin and Soojung spent time running through outfits while Sooyeon just flipped through a magazine. “Why are you only telling me now that you are going for fine dining?!” Soojung cried at him. Changmin stuck his hands out to shield himself from her shouting.
“How about that shirt?” Sooyeon interrupted. Soojung turned to her sister. “Unni, he only owns shirts.”
“I’m talking about that shirt in band collar dress shirt Joohyun bought for him for his birthday last year? No tie, no scarf. Just black and white.” They quickly searched for the shirt and matched it with black pants.
While he changed, Soojung couldn’t help but ask her sister, “Unni, do you dislike Joohyun-unni?”
Sooyeon lifted her eyes from the magazine. “No.”
“Then why are you so cold towards her?” she asked with confusion on her face. Sooyeon remained quiet while Soojung thought of the reason. “Unni, don’t tell me… You’re jealous of her?”
Sooyeon paused, but continued with her magazine. “Unni, saranghae,” Soojung said hugging her sister from the side. “I’ve always had you but you didn’t have anyone before me.” Sooyeon laid down the magazine and returned her hug. Changmin came out of his closet looking sleek. “What do you think?” he asked with a grin.
Soojung clapped her hands at her own satisfaction with the outfit. She got up and passed him a matching blazer. “You better get going,” she said. “You have an hour to get her flowers on the way.”
Changmin gave Soojung a hug for her help. “Sooyeon-ah, come here,” Changmin waved his hand for her to come. Sooyeon got up and gave her cousin a hug. “Sooyeon-ah, sorry about us not spending enough time with you. I’ll make sure that hyung and I make it up to you ok? Don’t forget that we love you more than we show it.” She sm
