Jonghyun’s clear, sharp voice meant danger to him. He looked up upn hearing that threatening tone, and saw a reflective blade in Jonghyun’s hands. He knew he was going to get stabbed, maybe even killed. Even though he knew how to fight back, he could not, for he was pinned down by Key and Jaejin.

Immediately after the countdown, he felt a sharp knife, piercing into his back. He felt it enter him millimeter by millimeter. The cold, unforgiving metal brought him nothing but excruciating pain, but he vowed not to scream. He tilted his wrist to the ceiling, and fired a shot. Glass shattered and rained onto them, causing his three attackers to be stunned for a second. A second that he made full use of. He kicked Key and Jaejin and started running, and made a phone call. He turned around, and saw Taemin and Seunghyun running after him. He knew he could get away, for maknaes did not pose much of a threat. After running for a while in the darkness, he knew he was out of their lair – the Devil’s lair, for he smelt freeom – dewdrops and seawater.

 Freedom smelt like wet dewdrops coupled with water. To him, dew signified hope as he smelt dew on the day he met his brothers. But seawater? He remembered, vividly, that his parents got killed by the sea, for being unable to repay their debts accumulated from drugs. He pushed that thought out of his mind, and continued running.
