Foreword
“We got to her just in time”
“What about the others?”
“They’re gone, when we got there they were already dead. Needless to say those monsters won’t be happy that she’s still alive. They’ll come after her again”
“We already knew that anyway”
The smell of semi-dried blood stung the young girl’s nostrils as she looked down at her yellow dress which was now painted red from the blood of her family.
Her left hand circled around her right wrist where a silver bracelet hung.
Why had this happened?
Why did bad men come and do bad stuff to her family?
Looking up at the three strangers towering over her while having a conversation; glancing down at her every now and again, she wondered who these people were.
“You both know what to do from here. She will remain in your care. Protect her and keep her out of harms way”
The female of the three stepped towards the young girl and squatted down to the little girls level.
“Everything’s going to be okay. You’re safe and we won’t let anything happen to you” The female said with a small smile on her face.
The little girl knew something bad had happened and she knew she was never going to see her family again.
She knew she was supposed to be crying at this very moment but for a five year old child, she couldn't’t understand what exactly was happening, so she silently promised herself that no tear would fall until she found the answers to her many questions.
