Prologue

He placed his hand on mine as we stared at the stars with starry eyes; sending a weird yet pleasurable tingling, electrical sensation down my spine. I shivered at the feeling.

“Are you cold?” Kris asked with concern.

I shook my head. “No.”

But he still took off his jacket and put it around me. He was adjusting it on me when he stopped entirely. I looked up, realizing his sudden reaction.

“Your eyes…they’re beautiful,” he said as he caressed my cheek with his right palm.

This time, I didn’t look down instead I looked him straight in the eyes to see this sudden feeling or shall I say passion for me. I was so into his eyes that I didn’t realized the sudden physical closeness between us. And before I knew it, our lips were locked with each others.

It was a mere lip to lip kiss at first but his tongue was begging for access into my mouth; hungry for me. It wasn’t the pleasure that caused me to smile at the wonderful feeling going through me but it was actually the fact that there was such a person on earth who would actually love me this much.

All of the teachings that I’ve learned in Colorado was all wrong. Love is not a disease in fact it is the best feeling in the world. A tear trickled down my cheek as I thought of the fact that I’ve been missing these all this while.

I was in heaven. The way Kris’ hand traveled all over my body just made me moan and beg for more of him.

But then I heard that voice, the exact voice that has kept in a prison like place all my life; my father’s voice.

“They’re here!” my father yelled.

A swarm of people wearing a weird uniform came running.

Kris pulled me up and brought me closer to him by my waist. “They found us so fast,” he said in a soft voice for me to hear.

“Kris, we’ve got to get out of here. They’ll give both of us the cure and things will never be the same!” I informed Kris.

He sighed. “I know. That is why we’re running now!” He yelled this and ran as fast as his legs could take him with my hand in his.

The people in the uniform came running after us as soon as my father ordered, “ Get them before they escape!”

At first I was afraid that they’ll catch us, separate us, inject us and erase all of our wonderful memories. The thought itself is very scary that I shuddered. But when Kris looked back to check how far the people were, I could see a smile forming on his lips. He’s not afraid at all because he knows what he’s doing and all I’ve got to do is trust him. With that thought, my mouth turned into a curve. They’ll never catch us or me with Kris around. Never.
