Top Hallyu Star, Jung Yunho, has spent the last ten years on the forefront of the Korean music scene. To the outside world, he seemed to be one of the happiest men in the world. He was highly popular-with millions of fans worldwide, and had earned a deeply sincere respect from his music industry peers. With a multitude of awards and accolades pinned to his chest, the world seem to lay before him. Between his immensly tight promotion schedule for his tenth #1 album and his recent starring role in this year's hottest drama, Yunho had everything in the world he wanted, or did he?
For the last four years, he had felt an emptiness that he couldn't explain. What was the reason? Why was he in so much pain, when he had everything he had dreamed of as a child? Before this shift in his personality, he was one of the kindest people the world had ever known. He was always happy, compassionate, and caring-to even the lowliest of strangers, but that was no longer the case. He changed, but why?
Yunho was always very outgoing, but over the last few years he became more and more reclusive, and now had only a very few real friends. He now believed that trust was a weakness and chose to exile himself from personal relationships. This drastic and increasingly apparent personality change caused him to exude a cold aura around himself of which few dared to approach. Why was he this way? What could have turned this once loving and caring man into the stern and brooding person he was today? When did this start? Where did it come from? Why? Yunho couldn't even explain this himself, as he quite often pondered these question with no reasonable explination. Could it be that someone hurt him in the past? A friend? A family member? A lover? Was he betrayed? Was he abandoned? Who did this to him and why?
To Potential Reader: This story is unlike your typical YunJae fanfiction. You will find elements that are on par to elements of a regular fiction of this type but there are major differences. I am first and foremost a drama writer. This story is set up like your typical Kdrama that encompasses lots of emotion, misunderstandings, and cliffhangers. I hope, for those who are into the more rated M Yunjae fanfics, will give this story a chance. I promise you wont be disappointed. For those readers that are turned off by the mature and seedy parts of most fanfictions, this fan fiction is definitely for you! Please enjoy and leave lots of comments. Criticisms are most welcome!

Foreword
Sitting quietly behind his beautiful oak desk, Yunho was deep in thought. As he reflected on his life, he felt an overwhelming sadness creep over him. He glanced up and noticed the antique photo frame sitting in it's rightful place on the desk. Reaching hesitantly for it and immediately clutching it to his chest, he closed his eyes and released a long sigh. After a few moments, he looked intently at the photo in his hands and sadly smiled.
"Grandma, I miss you. I'm sorry it's been so long since we talked. Life is just so hard right now." Yunho wispered softly.
"I wish you were here right now, I really need you." he uttered slowly as the slightest glimmer of tears began to well up in his eyes.
"I dont know what's wrong with me anymore." he sobbed as the tears began to flow uncontrollably down his tanned face.
Clutching the photo tightly against his chest once more, Yunho slumped over and layed his head on his desk; sobbing quietly.
[Flashback: December 2003]
"Yah! What are you doing? Hurry up we're going to be late!" belted Kim Junsu.
"Get a move on! We're gonna get in trouble if you don't get moving." snorted Park Yoochun.
At the sight of the chaos that was ensuing back stage, Yunho was thrownback for a moment and began to space out before he was snapped back to his senses by his bandmates abrupt pleadings.
" Ok! Ok, Aish! I'm coming." replied Yunho as he quickly motioned the group into the dressing room.
"God I can't believe we're late for sound check!" said Yunho disappointedly.
"Hurry up and get ready guys!" Yunho ordered.
"Yes Sir!" answered the other members.
"Lets have a great debut and knock them dead! " Yunho cheered.
After many years of training, the group finally saw the moment they'd been waiting for, within their grasp. Their pent-up excitement and stress manifested itself on their young faces more and more everyday, but inspite of this, their spirits were high. Fear had begun to set in as each member slowly began to realize that tonight's performance would make or break their budding music careers. As Yunho glanced at the faces of his new family, he could see their fear and doubt. He worried for them. He glanced down at his wardrobe for performance laying on the table and thought, 'God! I hope I don't forget the lyrics.' and let out a long sigh. He reached down to grab his jacket when he was suddenly startled by a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" asked Shim Changmin while tying his shoe laces.
The group heard a muffled female voice on the otherside of the door and recognized it instantly. Changmin playfully bounced to the door and opened to see their beloved makeup Noona smiling back at him.
"NOONA!" Changmin squealed.
"It's time to fix your faces." she giggled in a overly cute tone as she walked in prompting a wave of girlish giggles from group.
She quickly headed to her station and frantically set to laying out everything she needed.
"Alright! All set up!" she proclaimed and purred "Kim Jaejoong-ssi, you first sweetie."
"Noona! You're always too sweet to Jae. What about the rest of us?" probed Junsu.
"Yeah your're always so bossy with me." scoffed Changmin.
"Thats cause you're a pain and you don't listen to your Noona." she retorted then winked slyly "But, I love you anyway."
"We love you too Noona!" the group answered in unison.
Yunho watched the scene play out before him. As the feelings of pride welled up inside of him, a single tear streaked down his face. Realizing it, he quickly turned his face towards the nearby wall and wiped the tear away.
Clasping his hands together to his chest and bowing his head, Yunho prayed softly:
"Please God, let us do well tonight. Give my family the strength to overcome their fears and allow them to have fun. Please help me protect them for the rest of my life."
"Wah!" Yunho exclaimed. Raising his head from his desk from the suprising sound of the phone ringing. Wiping his teary and swollen eyes, he reached for his cell phone.
"Hello?"
"Hyung it's me" said Changmin.
"What's up?" asked Yunho.
"I just wanted to remind you to make sure you're packed for our flight tomorrow!" Changmin teased excitedly.
"Yah! Why are you reminding me? You're the one who always does things last minute. I was packed weeks ago, you big kid!" Yunho scoffed.
"Ok, Ok Hyung. I was just joking! Are you ok? You don't sound too good." Changmin probed with the sound of alarm in his voice."Are you sick? Do you hurt somewhere?"
"Don't worry, I'm ok! I'm just a little tired." Yunho lied.
"Ok then, I'll see you in the morning Hyung. Get some sleep. Love you bro." giggled Changmin.
"Love ya too! Bye Minnie, see you in the morning." said Yunho.
With that, Yunho ended the call and looked down at his phone. 'Silly kid' he thought as he layed it on the desk. Leaning back in his chair and looking up in the ceiling, he sighed and whispered "I miss him..them"
