Blind Dates

99 Paper Cranes (Completed)
It was the last week of their winter break, and another semester is coming.

Kit and Calvin have just finished enrolling in their subjects. As they were walking thought the school hall to meet some of their friends, they saw Chun running to them excitedly. “Kit! Calvin!” he called. Behind him is another old friend of them, Eric Li, who happens to go another university. “Look who I found!” Chun said. Kit just laughed as she watched Chun skip as he walked towards them. “Eric Li...” Calvin said. Eric smiled at him, and then tapped his arm as soon as they were near them. “Long time, no see, Cal!” Eric said. “Same here, so how's Chi Nan College?” Calvin asked. “Still the same, as always. You know, if I wasn't going to take medicine, I'd go here in St. John's with you guys.” he said. Then, Eric looked at Kit. “So, this brat is still tagging along with you?” he asked. Kit put her hand on her waist and glared at Eric. “Wei! I'm not a brat!” she told him. Eric just laughed her off.

“So, seeing anyone in particular, lover boy?” Eric asked as he turned to Calvin. Calvin smiled and shook his head. “Wei... he just broke up with his recent girlfriend!” Chun said. The two guys turned to Chun, and saw him putting his arm around Kit. Calvin looked at Kit and saw her looking up at Chun and smiling at him. He suddenly felt jealous at that sight. “So... you and Kit are finally together, I see.” Eric said to Chun Calvin turned to him, a little annoyed with his hunch . “No!” Calvin exclaimed. Kit looked at Calvin, wondering why he suddenly got irritated at Eric's question. “I mean, no... they're not together...” Calvin said in a more calm tone. Chun gave out a vicious at them. “Well, actually Kit and I can be together anyway,” he said, turning to Kit. “Right, Kitty Cat?” he asked her. Kit smiled and nodded her head. “Of course, Chunnie Bear.” she said. Eric smiled at them, amused at their sweetness. Back in high school, Kit hada a huge crush on Chun, but what he knows before is that Chun likes another girl. He's glad to see that Kit finally have a chance with Chun. He guessed that Chun liked Kit before, and only acted gay so that he could get closer to the two. “The two of you looked good together.” Eric commented. “Anyway, its about time that you get yourself a boyfriend, Kit... not just hang around with our lover boy here.” Eric said, pointing at Calvin.

Eric put his arm around Calvin and smiled at him. “And that's why I'm here. There are three girls I know that's dying to date you. They're from my school and they have a hug crush on you...” Eric said. Calvin gave him a curious look. “I've only been to your school once...” Calvin said. Eric nodded his head. “Yeah, remember Bernice, Han and Tiffany? The girls I introduced to you when you went there?” Eric asked. “Ah... yeah, I remember them! So you want me to date those girls?” Calvin asked. Eric nodded his head. “They've been badgering me since they saw you. They really want to date you.” Eric said. Then, Calvin turned to Kit, as if asking for her approval. “Do you think I should?” he asked her. Kit smiled and nodded her head. “Its about time...” she said. She looked up at Chun, and he gave her an assuring smile. Chun pulled her closer to him. Calvin looked at them, being more jealous than ever.
“I know I shouldn't feel like this towards them, and I could see Kit's happy with Chun... but... but why am I getting jealous?” he thought. His thoughts were interrupted when he looked up at Chun, and saw him trying to pinch Kit's nose. Kit tried to get back at him by tickling him at his sides. He doesn't know when the two have gotten closer, maybe it was during the time that they fought, but he really could tell that Kit is happy whenever she is with Chun. “Yeah... Kit's right...” Calvin said. “It's about time...” Eric smiled at him upon hearing that. “Great! Let me tell you about these girls...” Eric said as they walked away from the two.

As soon as Eric and Calvin were out of their sight, Chun looked at Kit and saw the smile on her face disappear. “You know, this would happen sooner than expected.” Chun said to her. Kit just nodded her head. “I know... and I also know that I have no right to stop him. I have no right to be jealous... after all, I'm just his best friend...” she said. “But you could stop this from happening if...”
“If I tell him that I love him?”
Chun nodded his head. Kit just gave him a faint smile. “You know, if everything could be don e as easily said, I could have told him long before. But... things are complicates, you see...” she said in a low voice. “Thing are complicated because you think it is. If you let him know then -”
“Then I would ruin our friendship again...” she continued. “Chun... when I lost him because of Trixie, I became scared. I became scared because I never thought that we could be ruined just like that. Yes, I was planning to tell him what I feel... but if I break my promise, I will just chase him away again. I would rather keep my silence and be contented with being friends with him, than tell him how I feel and feel guilty about breaking my promise of not falling in love with him... and seeing him mad at me because of what I felt.”
“It's not a sin to fall in love with your friend, Kit.”
“I know...”

Kit looked away from Chun and stared at Calvin's back. “But I'm still keeping my promise... even though it's breaking my heart...”

--

That afternoon, Kit and Chun met up with Jiro and Joy at the cafe near the school. “Hey...” Chun said to the two as he took the seat in front of them. “You guys finished with the enrollment already?” Jiro asked. Kit smiled at him and nodded her head. “Yeah... we just bumped into our high school friend that's why it took us a while to get here.” she explained. Then, Kit noticed that Danson is not with them. “Where's Danson?” she asked. “He stepped out for a while. He got a call from someone... geez, he's been on that phone for almost half an hour now...” Joy said. As Kit looked outside the window, she saw Danson about to get inside the cafe. “Weird though, he's always been like that.” Jiro added. Chun gave a wicked smile and scratched his chin. “Let me guess... since Hannah left for Vienna?” he asked. Jiro and Joy nodded their head.

“Oh, hey guys...” Danson said as he walked towards their table, and then sat beside Kit. “So, I heard you're on the phone with someone, huh...” Kit said, teasing him. Danson blushed at what she said. “Oh, it's nothing... it's just Hannah...” he said. Chun and Jiro looked at each other, and grinned. “Oooohhh... just Hannah huh?” they said in unison. Danson glared at the two, who is obviously teasing him. “Wei, it's nothing. She just called me because she can't sleep. And she's homesick...” he explained. The four looked at each other and grinned. “Oh, really?” Joy said. “Am I missing anything? Hannah knows our number as well, what made you so special that she have to call you when she can't sleep?” Kit added. “And why does she have to spend too much money talking to you on the phone?” Joy asked. “Wei... why do you have to bombard me with such questions? Hannah wants to talk to me. That's why she called!” Danson said in a defensive tone. “So, she doesn't want to talk to any of us except you?” Chun asked. “I mean, she wants to talk to me today, that's why she called.” Danson said. “Don't worry, she'll call you guys one of these days...” he said. “Fine... we'll wait for that day that she calls us... if and only if she doesn't call you, or you won't call her.” Jiro said. Danson just rolled his eyes at his friends.

Just then, Calvin entered the cafe. He spotted their friends at their favorite corner. “Hey, guy!” Calvin called as he walked towards them. Calvin took the seat besides Jiro. “Where's Eric?” Kit asked. “He had to go. He said he'll be calling Bernice for our date on Friday.” he said. Joy gave Calvin a confused look. “You have a date?” she asked. Calvin smiled at her and nodded his head. “Eric set me up for a blind date with one of his classmates. I think maybe it's about time that I go out on a date after all the things that happened, right?” he said. All of them nodded their heads. “So, if Calvin can go out on a date, then Kit can go on a date!” Joy said as she clapped her hands. “Kit! Remember the cute guy from the College of Medicine? I think George Hu's his name. Didn't he asked you out one time?” Joy asked. Kit gave Joy a confused look. “George Hu?” she asked. Joy nodded her head. “Yeah, he asked for your number but you didn't gave it. Good thing he gave his number to me. Wei, it's your chance. You can go out on a date with him!” Joy said. Calvin looked at Joy and glared at her. “No.” he said in a firm tone. This made everyone confused at his reaction. “Wei? Why aren't you allowing Kit to go out on a date?” Joy asked in a confused tone. “I don't know this George Hu. Besides, he might do something to Kit, just like what Mike He did to her before.” Calvin said. “Aiyo... this George Hu is a real gentleman, I assure you. I've heard a lot about him...” Chun said. “The answer is still no. Kit, you're not going out with that guy.” Calvin said as he turned to Kit. Kit glared at his bet friend. “Wei, why can't I go out on a date while you can? I can take care of myself!” she said. “I just don't want you to get in any more trouble. Don't make us all worried, right guys?” Calvin said as he turned to his friends. It seems that none of them agreed to him. “Well... I think Kit's a big girl now and she can take care of herself...” Jiro said. Danson nodded in agreement. “I mean, if Kit's would get in any trouble, she would know what to do, right Kit?” Danson said. Kit smiled at him and nodded her head. “See, everyone agrees that I should go out on a date as well. If you can do it, then I should too.” she said. Calvin was left with no choice but to agree to Kit, since all their friends were ganging him up. “Fine...” he said as he leaned to his chair. “Go out on a date with this George Hu... but make sure that I meet this guy first, OK?” Calvin said. Kit and Joy gave each other high five as Calvin agreed. Chun just sighed at Calvin. “Aiyo, what are you, Kit's dad?” he said, shaking his head.

Jiro came home that afternoon with Joy, when he saw his mom talking to Celestine and Celestine's mom. “Oh, Jay's here...” he heard his mom said. Mrs. Wang stood from her seat and went to his son. She gave Jiro a kiss on the cheek, and kissed Joy as well. “What are they doing here?” Jiro asked his mom as he eyed on Celestine. “Celestine brought her mom here for a visit. We haven't seen each other for a while.” Mrs. Wang explained. Then, she looked at Joy and smiled warmly at her. “You don't mind Celestine being here, don't you, Joy?” she asked. Joy smiled and shook her head. “Of course, Aunt Jane. After all, her mom's a good friend of yours...” she said. Mrs. Wang nodded her head, and lead the two to the den.

“Jiro's here...” Mrs. Wang said to their guest. Mrs.. Xiu looked up at Jiro and smiled at him. “It's been a while since I last saw you, Jiro.” Mrs. Xiu said. Jiro smiled back at the old lady and nodded his head. “By the way, this is my girlfriend, Joy...” he said as he looked at Joy. Joy looked at Mrs. Xiu and smiled at her. “It's nice meeting you, Joy.” Mrs. Xiu said to her. Joy smiled at her and nodded her head. “Nice meeting you too, Mrs. Xiu...” she said shyly. “I assume that you already know my daughter here, Celestine? She used to be Jiro's girlfriend.” Mrs. Xiu said. Joy nodded her head again, then she looked at Celestine and smiled at her. “I'm glad to see you again.” she said. Celestine gave a sweet smile to Joy. “Same here...” Celestine said. At that moment, Jiro was able to sigh with relief. At first, he didn't know what to do, and was scared when he found out that Celestine and her mom paid them a visit. Looking at the two girls, it seems that they are OK, and there's nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, as Celestine smiled at Joy, she was having a different thought at the back of her head. She is just starting with her plans of stealing Jiro away from Joy. She have to gain her trust first before she could proceed with her plans. She want to make her feel the same pain she felt when Jiro told her that Joy is his new girlfriend. “Dina, would you like to help me get our snacks at the kitchen? Let's leave the kids here to talk for a while.” Mrs. Wang said. Mrs. Xiu nodded her head, and then followed her to the kitchen, leaving the three behind. “Sorry if we went here without telling you. Mom insisted on visiting Aunt Jane...” Celestine said to Jiro as soon as they were alone. “It's OK, Celestine. Your mom and my mom are good friends too. No problem.” Jiro said. “Actually, I was a little hesitant with coming here with her. I know that you'll be with Joy, and I'm a little worried about her...” Celestine said as she eyed Joy. Joy smiled at her again and shook her head. “It's OK, really. I don't mind at all.” Joy said. Jiro looked at Joy, and smiled at her. He put his arms around her and pulled her to him, giving her a kiss on her cheek. “Thanks for understanding, hunny.” he said to her. Joy looked up at him and smiled. She knows that Jiro loves her, and there's nothing that she have to be worried about, even thought Celestine came back into his life. She trusts Jiro, and she trusts that he will never betray her.

At the sight of Jiro giving Joy a kiss on the cheek, the smile on Celestine's face disappeared. She couldn't help but be jealous of Joy, and at the same time, be mad at her. She should be the one in her place, she should be the one that Jiro loves, and not her. “I think I'll help Aunt Jane at the kitchen first, OK?” she heard Joy tell Jiro. Jiro nodded, and then watched Joy as she walked towards the kitchen. “You really love her, huh?” he heard Celestine said. Jiro looked at her and nodded his head. “She means a lot to me, Celestine...” he said. “Do you love her more than you love me?” Celestine asked bitterly. Jiro looked at her again, surprised at her question. “Celestine... we talked about this already...” he said. Celestine smiled and nodded her head. “I know. I just want to know your answer so that I could be at ease.” she said. Jiro smiled and nodded his head. “I just don't want you to think that I didn't loved you before. There's a big difference back then between us... and now...” he said. Celestine nodded her head. “I know. Tin always gets between us before. I could not accept that you still love her despite the fact that you have not seen each other.” she said. Jiro sighed, and then he shook his head. He already know where their conversation would be leading to. “Look, I don't want to talk about it...”
“But does she know? Does she know all about Tin?”
“There's nothing I hid from Joy.”
“Does she know exactly how you feel for Tin?”
“I said I did not hide anything from Joy. I told her everything about Tin.”
“Then, does she know that Tin was the reason why you broke up with me?”

Jiro paused, and the looked at Celestine. At that moment, he could not speak. Celestine's lips turn into a smirk. “I knew it. You never told her the real reason why you broke up with me...” she said. She folded her arms, and looked into Jiro's eyes. “You never told her that you broke up with me because you could never love me as much as you love Tin. And you know what, Jiro...” she said. “I'm guessing it will be the very same reason you'll give her when you break up with that girl.”

--

Friday night came.

Kit was getting ready with her date with George Hu that night. He would be picking her up at their house at around 7 PM, and they would have dinner at an Italian restaurant in town. Just then, the doorbell rang. She immediately rushed to the door, assuming that it's already George, but to her surprise, she saw Calvin standing by the door. “What are you doing here?” she asked him. Calvin just gave him a smirk. “I want to see your date.” he said. Kit rolled her eyes at him, and then folded her arms. “Aren't you running a little late for your own date, Calvin Chen?” she asked. Calvin shook his head. “I told her I would be running a little late. Besides, I want to see if your date would be harmless.” he said. Kit sighed at his best friend, getting frustrated at the way he's acting. “Cal, I thought we talked about this already? I've met George prior to this date, and he seems to be a very nice guy!”
“Oh, but you said the same thing about Mike, and you know what happened.”
“Why are you being overprotective? You're not even my brother, less, my own father!”
“I just want to make sure you're safe. You can't blame me if I get worried about you most of the time.”
“If you keep on being like this, then I won't have a chance to find a boyfriend and I'll die a spinster and a . Will you back off once in a while? Just let me be.”

As Kit turned to another side, she saw George already standing beside Calvin. He was holding a bouquet of peach roses, and a box of chocolates. “Oh, sorry... I didn't notice that you're already here.” Kit said to him. George just smiled at Kit. “It's OK. It's fun seeing the two of you talk.” he said. Then, he handed her the flowers and the chocolates. “Oh, thank you, George. You shouldn't have...” she said, smiling at him. “I have to. I want to make a lasting impression on you.” he said. Then, George turned to Calvin, and smiled at him. He extended his hand to him. “George Hu. You must be Calvin, Kit's best friend?” he said. Calvin didn't smile at him, but he took his hand and shook it. “The one and only.” he said. “I know you're worried a lot about Kit going out with me... but I assure you that she'll be in safe hands. I'm harmless, really.” he said. Then, George took a card from the front pocket of his jacket and handed it to him. “Here's my number in case you got worried about Kit. You can always call me.” he said to him. “Fine...” Calvin said as he took the card from his hand. “Kit have a curfew. Make sure she's home before midnight.” he said. Kit turned to Calvin and glared at him. “Wei, I don't have a curfew!” she told him. George just laughed at the two as the began to fight again. “It's OK, Kit. Don't worry, I'll drive you home before midnight.” he said. Kit smiled at him and nodded her head. Then, she held his hand. “Shall we go?” she asked. George nodded. “Any time that you're ready.” he said. Before they left, Kit turned to Calvin and smiled. She could see the angry expression in his face. “Hey, cheer up, sunshine boy. You have a date too!” she said, smiling at him. Calvin watched as his best friend leave with his blind date. He could tell that they already hit it off, and then he became jealous once again. “OK, Calvin... why are you being like this? Scared that Kit would replace you again?” he asked himself. He shook his head, and then left. He also have a date that night, and he have to get ready, he just hope he would enjoy it as much as Kit enjoys her date with George.

--

“Thank you for a wonderful night.” Kit said to George as he walked her at her doorstep. That night, George took her out for dinner and movie. “I hope you had fun with me tonight.” he said. Kit smiled and nodded her head. “Of course, I did.” she said. George smiled at her. “I'm glad to hear that. I hope we could go out again.” he said. Kit nodded her head in agreement. She watched as George walked towards his car. Then, he paused and then walked towards her again. “By the way, Kit...” he said to her. “I don't know why you suddenly agreed to go out with me tonight, but I hope it's not because you want to make Calvin jealous...” he said. Kit gave him a confused look. “What do you mean?” she asked. “At first, I thought you and Calvin have this thing... and the reason why you turned me down before is because you two are already dating. But I was wrong. Judging with the way you looked a while ago, I don't know... you guys have this spark... something that could not be seen in any best friends.” he explained. “I... I don't think I quite understand what you mean...”
“It's obvious that you love Calvin. I could tell, since you talk about him all though the night. I could tell he have some feelings towards you as well, since he's being overprotective of you, and seems jealous of me.”

Kit smiled and then shook her head. “We're just like that. We're like brothers and sisters you know...” she said nervously. George shook his head. “I told you I'm a Psych major, and I can easily read people. I could see the feelings between the two of you but something's holding you back. I wish one day you two could talk through it.” he said. Kit gave out a nervous laugh at George. “That's not true... I mean... we're best friends. Nothing more, nothing less.” she said. George just nodded his head. “Are you saying that to convince me, or to convince yourself?” he asked. Kit was taken aback by his question. Is she really that obvious when it comes to Calvin? “I'll talk to you soon, Kit. I hope to see you again.” she heard George said. Then, he turned his back and leave.

Kit was left stunned at what George said. He's right, he have always loved Calvin. But it would be impossible for her to tell him what she feels. The only thing she could do now is distract herself from this feeling, and go out on a date with other guys. Maybe if she hit it off with one of the guys she's going to date, she could eventually forget all about being in love with his best friend.

But what can she do, if she keeps on falling for Calvin each day?

--

“Please, Joy... set me up for another date...” Kit said to Joy when they met up the next day at the mall. Joy gave Kit a confused look. “Aiyo, why would you like to go out on a date all of a sudden? Is it because Calvin's dating again?” she asked. Kit shook her head. “How can I find myself a boyfriend if I don't go out with someone? I can't always hang out with Calvin!” Kit said. “There's Chun and Danson.”
“And what would I do if they got themselves a girl?”
“There's me.”
“You have a boyfriend.”
Joy paused, and looked at Kit, confused with the way she's acting. “Kit, what's wrong with you? Why do you want to have a boyfriend all of a sudden?” she asked. “So that I won't look like Calvin's foolish best friend when he finally got himself a new girlfriend.” she said. “So, you're scared that history would repeat itself?” she asked. Kit nodded her head. Joy gave her friend a smile, and then put her arms around her. “Aiyo, I don't think that would happen again, Kit. Besides, Calvin have his full trust on you now.” she said. Kit gave out a sigh as she looked at Joy. “But still...” she said in a low voice. Joy sighed as she looked at Kit's sad face. “Aiyo... OK... I'll set you up on another date, OK?” she said. Upon hearing that, Kit looked at Joy and smiled at her, then she hugged her tight. “Thanks, Joy! You're the best!”

--

He saw her sitting at one of their favorite corners at the cafe, and she is alone. The timing is perfect, he thought. A smiled formed at the corer of his lips as he walked towards her. “Joy?” he called. Joy looked back at him and smiled. “Chun.” she said. Chun took the seat in front of Joy. “So, I heard Kit was asking you to find her a date, right?” he asked. Joy smiled and nodded her head. “I don't know what's happening to her, but yes she wants me to find her a date.” she confirmed. “And you found her a date already?” Joy nodded her head. “Xiao Gui. I think they'll hit it off...” she said. She sighed, then she leaned to her chair. “I think her date with George is not that successful...” she added. Chun sighed and then leaned on his chair as well. “Joy, can you do me a favor as well?” he asked. She gave him a confused look. “Cancel her date with Xiao Gui...” he said. “I'm taking over.”

--

Calvin was in a fancy restaurant, waiting for his date. As he looked at the door, he saw a gorgeous lady entered. She walked towards him and smiled. Calvin smiled at her as she approached him. “Hey, Calvin...” she said. “You're Tiffany, right?” he asked. She smiled and nodded her head. Calvin stood up and helped her to her seat. “Thank you...” she said to him. “I'm glad that you agreed to go out on a date with me...” Tiffany said. Calvin just smiled and nodded his head. “I'm glad Eric told me about you...” he said. Tiffany smiled, and then leaned on the table. “You know, I've been wanting to get you more ever since Eric introduced us, but you never came back... so I'm really glad that you gave me this opportunity.” she said. “Actually, I think it's about time that I go out on a date, that's why...”
“Why, you and your girlfriend broke up?”
Calvin nodded his head. “We broke up a month ago...” he said. Tiffany was shocked to hear that. “I'm so sorry...” she said. Calvin smiled and shook her head. “No, no... actually, I think it's for the better. She and my best friend doesn't get a long, and she even tried to ruin our friendship. Not only that, she got Kit in danger, and you wouldn't know how worried I was at that time about Kit.” he said. Tiffany gave Calvin a confused look. “So, you chose your best friend over your girlfriend?” she asked. “Actually, it's not that... there are a lot of things that happened that caused us to break up. But maybe it's because the fact that she really doesn't like my bet friend, and that she lied to me. Thats all I can say for now.” he said. Tiffany smiled and nodded his head. All throughout the dinner, Calvin talked about him and Kit, and Tiffany just listened to him. She listened to all the stories that he have to tell about Kit, and she's starting to think, maybe for Calvin, Kit is not just a best friend.

--

Kit sat at one of the fancy restaurants as she waited for her date. She looked at her watch again and frowned. Obviously, her date is running late. She sighed as she leaned on her chair. She took the goblet of water in front if her and took a sip. She looked at her watch again, and as she looked up, she saw a tall guy standing in front if her, smiling. She could not believe that this guy is her date. “Chun?” she gasped. “The one and only.” he said as he took the seat in front of her. “You're my date?” she asked again. Chun smiled and nodded his head. “So, you have no choice but be stuck with the whole evening.” he said. “Let me guess, you asked Joy to be my date tonight?” she asked. Chun nodded his head again. “But... but why?” she asked. “Tell me why you desperately wanted to go out on a date and have a boyfriend. I'm going guess this is all about Calvin again.” Chun said. Kit let out a chuckle as she leaned on her chair again. “You know too well...” she said. “I know everything, Kit. And I know you're doing this because you want to divert your attention to something else except Calvin. Is that right?” Chun asked. Kit slowly nodded her head. “You know, Kit... you won't even be successful at this, you know why? Because it seems to me that you keep on comparing those guys to Calvin. You looked for Calvin in them, but they are not Calvin. You're only hurting yourself in the end...” Chun said. “So, you're saying I should stop what I'm doing now?” Kit asked. Chun smiled and nodded his head. “Stop hurting yourself. It's enough that you hurt yourself by secretly loving your best friend.” Kit sighed as she realized that Chun is right. There's nothing she could do now, especially that her feeling for Calvin just keeps on growing stronger.

“You're right...” she said to Chun. “This isn't going to work out, really...” Chun smiled and nodded his head. “But you see, I know someone who is exactly like Calvin. If you're still willing to give it another shot, maybe I can set you up with him.” he said. Kit gave him a confused look. “Oh, really?” she asked. Chun nodded his head. “OK, I'll go out with this guy. For one last time...” she said. Upon hearing that, Chun smiled at her.

--

Danson patiently waited at the park for the “date” that Chun set him up to. He sat on the bench as looked at his watch. He was a little early for the date. Then, he heard someone call him. “Danson?” He looked back and saw Kit walking towards him. “What are you doing here?” she asked. Danson stood up from his seat and faced her. “Chun set me up for a date, and he told me I'll be meeting her here at the park. Seriously, I don't know what's with this blind date thing...” he said. Kit chuckled as she watched the confusion at his face. “Funny... Chun told me the same thing. Sorry if you got involved with this whole blind date thing...” she said. Danson smiled as he looked at her. “So... you're my blind date?” he asked. Kit smiled and nodded her head. “I guess so... I hope you don't mind hanging out with me for a while.”
“Of course. I don't mind at all.”

Danson walked towards her and then held her hand. “Want to go to the arcade?” he asked. Kit nodded her head. “Finally, something to do rather than eat in a fancy restaurant and watch movie.” she said. Danson just laughed at her. “So, you mean George is a boring guy?”
“Not really. Maybe I just don't feel like dining in a fancy restaurant or watch movies...”
“And Chun?”
“He's goofy, but not the type I would want to go out on a date with.”
“And me?”
Kit paused as she turned to smile. “We'll see...”

--

“So of all the three dates, you don't want to go out with anyone f them anymore?” Eric asked Calvin. Calvin nodded his head. “Sorry, man... guess they're not really my type.” he said. Eric sighed, and then nodded his head. “It's OK, I understand...” he said. “I don't think any of the girls would want to date you anyway...” he continued. Calvin looked at him, confused at what he said. “Come on, Cal... if you keep on telling girls about Kit and how great best friend she is, you would only make the girls intimidated and they would think that you are in love with your best friend. You seriously have to stop doing it, or better assess what really Kit is in your life...” Eric said. “She's just my best friend...” Calvin said as he turned his gaze away from him. Eric gave him a smirk. “Are you saying that to convince me, or to convince yourself?”
