Hannie let him in silently, scratching her head. "So you were on that new variety show?" he inquired. "How was it?"
"Oh, yeah; Minho-hyung and I totally killed unnie and Onew-hyung," Hannie tittered, laughing boyishly. She settled herself in the seat across from him at the dining table, but not before she served him a glass of cold water. "I didn't... mean to worry you," she confessed honestly, sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck. "It's just.."
"You don't have to explain to me," he smiled warmly. "I just wanted to see if you were okay."
A pinkish hue cascaded over Hannie's defined cheekbones, causing her to duck her head slightly. She fumbled with her fingertips and cleared awkwardly before looking back up to lock her eyes with Kevin's. "Thank you for bringing me home that day," she whispered, narrowing her eyes at her own vulnerability.
He shrugged. "No worries."
Haebyeol looked distantly at her door, ears perking up at the distinct voices coming from outside. "Yah, pay attention to me."
She turned back to Lu Han, waving into her camera. "I hear voices," she whispered. "I'll go check it out real quick, okay? Don't fuss; you'll wake unnie!"
Lu Han didn't even receive a chance to protest, as Haebyeol was already out the door, creeping down the corridors at a snail-like pace; her feet pattered gently across the hardwood floors, her slick feet gliding across the glazed floors.
"So.. how've.. you been coping?"
Haebyeol blinked at the male's voice. Cocking her head to the side, she arched her back, craning her neck to peek past the wall to the source of the light; as she stretched herself far enough to catch sight of Hannie, her eyes widened profusely as she tucked herself back into hiding. She placed her hands over , as she tried to restrain her squeak from escaping. Aish, this maknae! she cursed mentally to herself. Always causing trouble!
"I'm fine, Kevin-hyung --"
"Hyung?"
"Ah..y-yeah, I tend to.. do... do that."
Hannie cleared awkwardly, scratching her temple. "So you want more water?"
"No, I'm fine." Ever since he made his surprise debut at the ELiTE household, his smile had never left his lips; flawlessly, his boyish grin was plastered across his thin lips, brightening the dim-lit room by a thousand mega-watts. Hannie could only nod and shuffle her brain for words; but as they were at the tip of her tongue, the words refused to be uttered. "Hungry?" she offered uncomfortably.
He shook his head, keeping his eyes glued to hers, the beam matching his merry eyes.
"Can I help you in any way?"
Kevin shrugged, chuckling casually. "Not really; it's just.. I didn't know what I was thinking when I showed up at your door. It was like I was at the studio one moment, and woke up to find myself at your door," he explained. "I just wanted to know how you were, what you were up to, if you were healthy.. simple things."
"I didn't propose to you, hyung; I serenaded you. There's a difference, so don't worry your pretty head about me, okay?" Hannie's usual witty side was slowly revealing herself as she grew more comfortable under his caring eyes. She shifted oddly in her seat, her toes twitching from an unknown sensation. "I'm fine, really," she assured him with a soft smile.
Haebyeol creeped back into her room, smiling to the dozing Lu Han. "Sleeping on me?" she jeered, her voice but a soft whisper.
"Please, if I had made you wait ten minutes at this ungodly hour, you'd be dozing, too!" he snarled. "Nappeun yeoja."
Haebyeol rolled her eyes.
"What was it, anyways?" her companion questioned.
Haeybeol shook her head, smiling ambiguously at her boyfriend. "It's nothing," she laughed, giggling at his pertruding pout.
"We've only been together for such a short time!" he whined. "Already hiding things from me?"
"Not officially are we together," she corrected him.
"It's the thought that counts."
"It's getting late," she announced, diverting the subject away. She cleared , and Lu Han shot her a pointed look -- a knowing glance she knew she couldn't escape.
"Oppa, I'm coming back with a new track soon; please don't do this."
"You still need to answer me."
"Listen, that can wait --"
"Are you seriously going to make me wait even longer? It's a yes or no question, Byeollie," he tittered mockingly.
Haebyeol rolled her eyes, sighing heavily. "Oppa, if you really care about my well-being, you'd wait just a bit longer for me, araseo?"
"You dirty cheater!"
"So you don't care about me?"
"I didn't say that!" he protested loudly. Haebyeol growled, slamming her hands over the speakers. "Are you planning to wake the whole dorm!?" she drawled relentlessly.
"Is that what it's going to take?" he jeered playfully, shooting her his boyish beam. "I'll talk to you later, then," he remarked briskly. "Don't dream about anyone else, araseo?"
"I wouldn't dare," Haebyeol smiled warmly. "Night."
"Good night, Byeollie."
Bogoshipeoyo, oppa.
Hannie laughed brightly, escorting Kevin out the door. "Thanks for visiting," she stated, thanking him once more. He simply shook his head, brushing off her gratitude with a gentle smile.
"Just promise me to take care of yourself?" he returned.
Hannie nodded fervently. "I have to now, now that our comeback is coming out soon," Hannie remarked.
"I'll be sure to root for you at the comeback stage; you're sharing the performance date with U-KISS," Kevin responded enthusiastically. He let out a high-pitched giggled back patting Hannie's head. "You should start calling older guys oppa from now on, too," Kevin chirped playfully.
"Why?" Hannie inquired innocently.
The male only shrugged, smugly grinning at the naive female before him. "Just 'cause," he chuckled. "See you 'round, Hannie-ah."
"Ne.."
"Ah!" Kevin whipped around, catching Hannie just before she could close the door. "Maybe you could serenade me again sometime? But... with a legitimate song next time?"
Hannie smirked, nodding unsurely. "I'll consider it."
"Ara," he simpered. "See you then."
"Annyeong!"
Hannie shut the door frantically behind her, running her hands through her hair, and placing her hands atop her chest. "Aish, Park Hannie, snap out of it, you fangirl! ... Ah, but he's such a cute kid."
