Part Three
"I Love You."
❝Part Three❞
Kyungsoo felt his heartbeat grow faster as a tiny sparkle of hope formed right in front of his eyes.
Kai said he loved me.
For a moment, he stood where he was, staring at Kai with no expression on his face, unable to absorb anything Kai had said to him. Then Kai shook him worriedly.
“Kyungsoo? Um, are you ok?”
Kyungsoo felt himself snap back to reality and he blinked in surprise. He gazed at Kai, his eyes sweeping over his eyelashes, nose, lips-
Then he started to laugh. A lot.
“Kai, did you just hear what you said? You said “I love you” to a person like me. A person who would just go up to any girl in a bar and make out with her.”
Kai flinched at his words, obvious pain in his eyes. “I don’t care.”
“You don’t care? You don’t deserve a person like me, Kai. There’s lots of people out there that you can take your pick from,” Kyungsoo said, his voice strained. Slowly, he put his hands up to Kai’s and pried them off his face.
“Kai, from the moment I said we were going to break up, I meant it. I don’t love you anymore.”
I don’t love you anymore. Kai felt as if someone just stabbed him with a knife, twisting it through his heart. He took a step forward, desperately searching Kyungsoo’s emotionless face.
“That’s not true. I know you still love me.”
Kyungsoo smiled at Kai coldly. “I used to, Kai. But not anymore.” Saying, he pushed his way past Kai and walked away, leaving Kai frozen at the spot. Rain was starting to fall.
Kai just stood there, letting the rain fall on his face.

Kyungsoo had not walked far before he broke down in a emotional mess.
“Don’t cry, Kyungsoo. Whatever you do, don’t cry-“
It was useless. Before he knew it, his face was already wet and glistening with tears. Or maybe it was rainwater. Or probably both. He didn’t know anymore. He quickly ran towards the nearest shelter he could find, which was a friendly looking café.
Stepping inside, he was greeted cheerfully by a waitress. “May I get you something?” she asked nicely, not even gaping at his messy face. Or maybe she thought it was the rain.
