“We’ll have a three-day trip to the forest next week to take a closer look to the insects. You can go there by your own cars. You come straight there, no need to pass by the school. If you don’t have one, tell me. After that, each of you has to write an essay about it. That’s all. You can go now” biology teacher announced

“It’ll be fun” – Dongwoon

“Fun? You have to write an essay. AN ESSAY” – Doojoon

“Who cares. We can play at the fall”

“Woonie’s right. It has been a long time since we had a trip together” – Jiyoon

“And it’ll be different this time because Hyuna’ll join us…You’ll come, right?” Gayoon turned to Hyuna as Hyuna nodded

“How can’t she? She lives with our Joker now. He’ll make her go. Right, hyung?” Yoseob crossed his arm around my shoulders as I smacked it away

“Hey, Seungie. Why’re you so quiet today?” I noticed

“Uhm…Nothing” Something’s definitely wrong.

“By the way, where’s Jina noona today? Why is she absent?”

“She…She’s busy”

I want to ask more but I decide not to. It’s normal for boyfriend and girlfriend fight few times.

“Let’s go home” I held Hyuna’s bag for her

“Why’re you hurry? Chat a little bit” – Kikwang

“I’m starving” I tapped my stomach

“Psf…You just want private time with Hyuna, hyung” – Dongwoon

“Woonie, are you bored of breathing?” I glared at him as he shaked his head immediately. Good boy.

“Bye, guys” Hyuna and I left the classroom

Joe runs to Hyuna right away after I open the door. She rubs his head smiling. He seems to like that as his tail is waving in the air. I walk to the fridge to drink cold water. It’s almost winter but why the temperature is still high?

Hyuna walks pass me to the stove. She’s preparing to cook something. After a while of looking, I realize it’s spaghetti.

“Hey, I was kidding in the morning. I can eat instant noodle. You don’t need to do” I stopped her as she shooked her head

“If so, let me help you” I took a cooker but she took it away from me

She pulls me to the living room and forces me to sit on the sofa then she walks back to the kitchen

“Aish, is your master always stubborn like that?” I asked Joe who was lying beside me as he waved his tail. It means yes or no?

I sigh and let it go. I turn on the TV and watch some programs to kill time. When I about to fall asleep, Hyuna comes in front of me with a tray and three plates of spaghetti on it. She puts one on the ground for Joe and gives me one.

“Thanks…Woa, did you really cook it?” I was amazed

“Where did you learn cooking?” I couldn’t stop eating

“From nanny?” she shaked her head

“From a cook book?” she denied again

“Don’t tell me that you just cook randomly?” I raised my eyebrows when she nodded. SHE NODDED?

“It’s a gift. You’re talented at cooking” I almost choked when saying as she laughed. Remind me never talk when eating.

“Ah, are you sure you want to take the trip? You don’t have to go. I won’t force you” You’re a bad liar, Junhyung.

She thinks for few seconds and gives me a smile.

“It means yes or no? Seriously, you should speak” I was confused as she chuckled

“Hey, I’m serious. You should. You can’t be quiet for whole your life” I repeated but she pretended not hearing

“Okay, let me teach you” I put her plate down when she finished

“Come on. It’s not hard. Give me a chance” I forced her to face me

“Say ‘A’” I started with a simple word

“A…Ar…” she followed. At least, she lets me help.

“No, no. The first word you said is true, not the second one. ‘A’”

“Ar…”

“No. ‘A’”

We keep doing like that until Hyuna speaks fully right. It takes us half an hour. We can’t continue because it’s almost 1PM and we should take a nap. We have a lot of homework to do.

“Okay, I’ll teach you speak one word a day from now on, okay?...Let’s brush teeth and sleep a little bit” I told her as we both head to the bathroom. We just brush teeth together not bath together.

Joe jumps on the bed after Hyuna lies down on the bed. She hugs him and both of them close their eyes. Joe’s very important for Hyuna. I lay down and fall asleep right away.

{Few days passed – At school}

“What’s that?” I noticed a packet on Hyuna’s desk

She opens and shows it happily. It’s a small cake.

“You made it? When?” my eyes got widen. The cake looks like you buy from a bakery.

Four fingers are shown. That means 4AM. WHAT? 4AM?

“YAH!! I didn’t tell you wake up that early” I shouted gaining attentions from my friends

“Why did you shout?...What’s that?” Hyunseung came. He looks a little better now.

“Where did you buy it, oppa? It looks good” – Jiyoon

“I didn’t buy that. Hyuna made it” I answered while I could see my friends were shocked

“Did you REALLY make it?” Gayoon pointed at the cake as Hyuna nodded innocently

“Woa~ Let me try it~…Uhm…” Yoseob took a spoon and tasted

“What? How is it? Yoseob-ah…” Kikwang shooked his body lightly because he was frozened for seconds

“This is mine” Yoseob suddenly held the cake and ran away

“YAH!! We haven’t eaten…Catch him…” the other boys chased after him as the girls giggled

“That means your cake is delicious, Hyuna” Jina explained

“Phew…Finally…” the boys came back with the cake

“How can you be so selfish, Seobie?” – Doojoon

“We all know he like sweet, oppa” Gayoon defended for Yoseob

“My girlfriend understand me most” he gave her a back hug

“Get a room” Kikwang complained

“Because Yoseob tried so now there’re just us” – Hyunseung

“Hyung~” Yoseob whined

“Not working…Uhm…Woa~ Really good” Hyunseung gave a thumb up

“Where did you learn cooking, Hyuna?” Jihyun was biting the spoon. Same question with me.

“She cooked it randomly. I asked her yesterday already” I answered for Hyuna

“Really?” my friends exclaimed when she didn’t understand their reactions

“You should open a cake shop” – Dongwoon

“Yah!! I told you not to eat, Yoseob” – Hyunseung

“Oppa~ Just think it’s my part. I gave it to him, okay?” Gayoon spoke as Yoseob stucked his tongue out. This boy is so childish.

{Trip’s first day}

I’m putting the luggages into my car. I want to ride my motorbike but I can’t take the luggages if I use it. It’s a little bit weird that Hyuna just uses two luggages but one is contained food. Girls usually bring a lot of things, right?

“Hurry, Junnie” I saw my friends were already waiting for me opposite the street

“Finish. Let’s gooooo~” I started the engine

“Boys’re at the first floor. Girls, upstairs. Two people one room. You can choose roommate. That’s all. Comeback here after 20 minutes. Any question?...Yes, Junhyung” teacher saw I raised my hand

“Can we cook in this motel?” everyone laughed at my silly question except Hyuna. Well, I asked that for her.

“You can but don’t burn down the motel, okay?” the teacher joked

“Yes, teacher”

“Hyuna, can you stay with unnie?” I heard Jina and Hyuna agreed

All the morning and afternoon, we have to follow teacher go every place of the forest. We just have a short break when eating lunch. Is the teacher trying to kill us? At the evening, we can do whatever we want at least we don’t go too far from the motel. It’s freaking cold here. Luckily, Hyuna put my coat into my luggage so I don’t die because of the cold. We’re now sitting around a camp fire with the others.

“This feeling is so good. It’s cozy” – Jiyoon

“And delicious” Yoseob was eating the cookies Hyuna just made

“Yah!! Stop eating before you turn fat” – Kikwang

“Hyuna-ah, why you always make sweet things? Are you paying back?” – Hyunseung

“What’re you talking about?” both Hyuna and I didn’t understand

“You gave her all your biscuits when you were kids, remember?”

“Ah…Really?” I looked at her but she denied. How disappointed.

“They were made by his grandmother who had passed few weeks before that. They were precious for him but he gave them to you” – Gayoon

“They weren’t precious that much” I rubbed my head when Hyuna stared at me like asking me it is true or not

“It’s late and colder. Let’s get in and go to sleep before we turn into ice” – Doojoon

“Good night, Hyuna” I covered a blanket over her shoulders as she smiled

{Trip’s second day – None POV}

It’s almost midnight. Hyuna’s going downstairs because she wants to cook something to eat. The food of the motel is too little for her. She can’t wait until tomorrow’s morning. She can die because of hunger. Suddenly, she falls down and when her knees about to touch the stairs, someone catches her in time. It’s Hyunseung.

“Hara, you would be dead if I wasn’t busy…Are you alright?” he said to the one who was hiding from the wall and turned back to Hyuna

“If so. I have to go. Be careful” he patted her head like she was a baby and went outside the motel

Hyuna heads to the kitchen and prepare ingredients for fried rice. While cooking, she takes a look outside through the windows. She notices Hyunseung and Jina are standing near the lake. They look unhappy especially Hyunseung.

“I’m sorry, Hyunseung” Jina apologized

“Don’t say that to me. I already found out at the day you were absent when I saw you hugged him” Hyunseung didn’t look at her leaning a tree

“Seungie-ah…” she felt guilty

“Don’t call me like that. You didn’t call me Seungie days ago. Why should you now?” he closed his eyes

“I’m sorry, Seungie. Suddenly, he came back”

“STOP CALLING ME LIKE THAT. You can call me like that if you take back those words you just said. You can call me like that if you refuse marrying that guy” he yelled making her eyes teary

“I didn’t mean to hurt you. I…”

“DON’T LIE. You just used me as a toy when you were waiting for him. GO AWAY. I don’t want to talk to you anymore. You never exist in my life” he turned to the lake

“I’m sorry” she ran inside the motel

Hyunseung slowly collapse on the ground. He rests his head on his knees while his hands are covering his face. After a while, someone touches his arm

“Leave me alone” he didn’t look up but that person touched again

“I sa…Hyuna? What’re you doing here?”

Hyuna takes out a coke from her coat

“You should give it to Junhyung. I don’t like coke”

She takes out some cookies

“For Yoseob”

She takes out the last thing from her coat and it’s a candy

“Run out already. Alright, I’ll take this…Now, I want to be alone” he commented gently as she about to leave

When Hyuna remembers she forgot something, she turns back. She takes off her coat and covers for him. She gives him a smile and goes inside quickly so she doesn’t see Hyunseung chuckle at her.
