Chapter 10

Ehm, it seems L has already explained his intentions, it seems he doesn't want Krystal to know that he works for the NICT because the NICT is very dangerous, yes, there's a risk of accidents, that's why our salary and bonus are very high. However, I admire her, she loved L so much until she was dragged to this place.

Level One? Why is the data of this person protected by Level 1? If I'm not wrong, Level One data is a data that's protected from the public for the NICT's interest, like personal data of the agents or certain people that are in a list of special control by the NICT.

Then I go through another folder, the archive part. I look for a mission that still has an ongoing status right now. There is an ongoing mission. I soon look up that mission. However, once again te info about that mission is protected by level one. What I can see there is the involvement of Leeteuk, L, Kyu, DongHae and a few other agents.

It's only a signal protocol to ask for a helping troop that they have activated, but that protocol will only give their geographic position, like a GPS.

Dr. Lee... A mission that's kept secret...

Is it like a hint? Leeteuk deliberately left a trae for me and Krystal so we can help them if needed... Yes, this is like a hint for us two, so we're always alert and ready.

“You received my call within less than ten seconds, that means the cellphone was close to you and you also haven't fallen asleep yet...” says L across the phone.

“Pssh...” Sulli shakes her head and smiles slightly.

“Let me guess... Three cans...? Alone...?” guesses L and that guess of L is true like it is.

“Pssh... What kind of a creature are you... You installed a CCTV in my house, huh, ehm...?” says Sulli.

“How are you today? It seems like I will miss you...” says L.

Again she feels that moment her lips touched Sungyeol for a few seconds.

Slowly the more she remembers that, the larger Sulli's smile gets.

Just like usual she always smiles sweetly and each smile and her words always make me attracted to her, full of mysterious and teasing aura. There's nothing awkward with the two of us when we meet the next day. She is still Sulli-sshi and I'm Sungyeol-sshi. It's as if the awkward and stiff feeling that we felt a moment after that kiss just disappeared when we're at the NICT together.

What has changed is that now she always offers me a cup of hot drink in the morning.

And also, Krystal and Sulli sometimes are seen preventing getting an eye contact with each other. I don't know who first thought not to greet each other or get an eye contact. What's clear is that the two of them are better like this, however, it looks sad if the two fight just because of someone, that is L. Who do I have to change? Is it Krystal's behavior? Or is it Sulli who is full of mystery with L?

“Kangta-sshi... Kangta-sshi...” that shrieking sound is familiar in my ears. Krystal's voice squeals in the corridor, making me in the lab immediately peek outside.

Krystal is seen walking following Kangta.

The two are the ones who are used to be your brain when you're undergoing a mission... The two of them surely can finish this mission even thoug they need a bit more time...” says Kangta while touching Krystal's shoulder and Krystal falls silent while biting her lip.

“Wae?” asks Sulli while approaching me.

“She...” I say while pointing outside of the window pane, at Krystal who is now standing silently in the corridor.

Sulli then falls silent, looking at Krystal. The two of us look at Krystal behind a vertical blind.

“It's already the third day... However there's no report or news from them at all... It's proper that Krystal now becomes worried like that... She is worrying about L...”

“Ehm... You've never been contacted by any one of them...?” Sulli asks me.

“No... Not even one of them tried contacting us...”

Sulli nods.

“Wae? Have you ever communicated with L?” I ask.

“No... He has never contacted me...” says Sulli.

However, behind all of this there are still a few things that are making us stuck. First, obviously their position. The protocol can't be accessed directly from inside the NICT because it's protected by Level One.

“Can't you hack it, SeoHyun-sshi?” I ask.

“Level One needs Captain's or Director Kangta's special ID... We can't hack it carelessly...” says SeoHyun.

“What if we turn off the electricity?” I ask.

“That's useless, Level One server has its own engine generator... Even though the electricity is off... It's still on...”

I shake my head again. It seems there is no way.

*Click* SeoHyun snaps her finger “Ah we can! Kangta surely has a spare ID card in his room... We just sneak into his room... Then she gets in front of a big box and opens that box, containing various kinds of cable series as well as electrical fuse. Then she presses one fuse down.

CLAP! The electricity in the NICT gets off, everything is off.

“ISH...” Sulli who was looking through a microscope immediately feels disturbed because the electricity went off, then she walks out of the lab.

“Turn on the power from the engine generator!” says Amber, shouting, pretending to make much ado.

A bustle is heard from the main room, everyone is worried because the files could just get lost because the electricity went off. Sulli is in the corridor in front of the lab. The lab is still in the same corridor as Kangta's room.

CRAK

Sulli sees someone going into Kangta's room in the midst of the dimness in the NICT. Sulli puts her suspicious feelings, she then runs and follows that person's figure who is now inside Kangta's room. Sulli peeks through the window, that person's figure is now looking for something on Kangta's table.

“Please try checking it... Why doesn't the engine generator get on, who knows maybe there is a boycott-”

CLAP!

The electricity in the whole NICT is on again. Everyone breaths relieved. However, not Amber and SeoHyun. Out of reflex the two of them look at the corridor of Kangta's room.

The electricity is already on.

“Are you looking for something... Lee Sungyeol-sshi?” that voice, makes me aghast and immediately get up frozen, I'm turning my back to the person who called me, Sulli. Then I turn my body and make sure that it is really Sulli.

She stands in front of me with crossed arms.

“What are you doing here?” she asks with a different tone.

I try avoiding her eyes, “Ah.. Uh...” I immediately sputter and I feel my sweat starts running down slowly.

“You don't have to find an excuse to lie, if you like then I'll suspect you as a spy in the NICT...” she says sharply.

Damn. There's no other way than telling her the plan of us four.

I swallow and take a deep breath.

“Kangta is covering the position of Leeteuk, L, Kyu and Hae... The four of us are worried about the safety of those four... We have to do this...” I say steadily.

The four of us are gathering in the dormitory corridor again.

“They're on an island near Yeosu...” I say while looking at the map on my cellphone.

“Eh wait first, Seo... Are all cars at the NICT connected to your computer?” I ask.

“Huh... Heechul-sshi?” I say when I see Heechul's figure who is always relaxed with flower-patterned shirt with short sleeves.

“Huh... Sungyeol? Wow – wow...” he says while stopping playing with his cellphone.

“Wow it turns out you already know each other huh... Yeol, this is the owner of that RX-8...” says Shindong.

God. Maybe this world is too narrow, huh?
