Love That Transcends Time

Description

A twenty year old girl stumbles upon a small house along the outskirts of her little town and finds that this girl has the same hobby as she does ; playing the piano.

Meet Tiffany Hwang, holder of a bachelor's degree in music and a well-known piano teacher in her town. After losing the only momento her deceased mother left for her, she wanders near the edge of town to find the crystal necklace, only to find herself caught up in a huge storm and having no choice but to seek shelter in an old mansion, stuck with the owner of the run down mansion, who is none other than Kim Taeyeon, a girl who has no recollection of her past other than the fact that her parents died in a fire in the mansion that she was now living in. Taeyeon's goal in life is simple; survive. The duo eventually fall in love and Tiffany starts to probe Taeyeon to find out about her past, but little does Tiffany know about the beast inside Taeyeon is just waiting to burst out. Taeyeon eventually finds herself locked in combat with new and old enemies in an endless fight for her life as she fights both the darkness of her past and the beast inside her soul. Armed with allies, her own determination and the mysterious powers that have been passed on to her as part of her family heritage, Taeyeon must now enter a realm of her own, understand that no one is who they seem and that behind every song, there is a story to be told.

Dark clouds over the sky like vultures over a corpse and within minutes, the sky was packed with thunder clouds. The rumble of thunder was slowly becoming more and more audible with each passing flash of lightning. ", I've gotta get going, those thunder clouds seem threa--"

Tiffany felt her hands go cold the moment she felt the first drop of rain hit her neck. More droplets of rain accompanied the first and within half a minute, Tiffany was running for her life as she covered her ears and ran, jumping upwards in shock whenever a loud crack of thunder hit her eardrums. "Go away! Stupid rain!" she shouted, letting out a startled scream when the thunder roared back at her in response.

By now, her clothes were soaked and her hair was in a tangled mess, yet she continued to run in a direction that she was not very familiar with. "Haven't seen this part of the country before." she said to herself as the wind came at full blast, almost knocking her backwards.

Through her barely opened eyes, she could now see a building up ahead. It was an old mansion, charred at the exterior with a half open door which seemed like it was going to fall off any moment. "The hell happened to the third floor?" Tiffany thought to herself as she ran through the wet flower bed that surrounded the house, unintentionally killing a few of the tulips along the way.

She quickly ran into the house and closed the door behind her, heaving a sigh of relief when she found that she was finally out of the rain. As she slowly cooled down, she started to survey her surroundings and found an old grand piano in the corner of the room, abandoned with water dripping from the roof onto it's lid. It was a fairly old piano, made out of maplewood and hornbeam. The piano looked used and old with a few large splinters sticking out of it's lid, but still, it was a piano, and being a musician, Tiffany just couldn't stand the sight of another instrument being left in the rain as if no one cared about it. Not wishing to let the poor instrument stay that way, she scanned the piano thoroughly and smiled when she saw wheels on the piano's legs.

As she pushed the instrument, she turned to the side and saw two empty corridors; one was pitch black with no sign of any movement in it while the other was brighter with a window which allowed light to illuminate the kitchen which stood at the end of the corridor. But then she suddenly froze. "W-who's there?" she stammered, her heart returning back to it's earlier pace as she stood rooted to the ground, frozen in fear.

"W-w-who's there?!" she yelled, anxiety and fear making her legs go weak as she sank the ground and pushed herself against the piano, eventually crawling under it. Her imagination started to run wild as she felt an unknown pressure being applied on when she heard footsteps, but she couldn't tell which corridor it was coming from. Not knowing what else to do, she quickly hid her face behind her knees as she curled into the shape of a ball in self-defence.

"Damn this rain." a voice came from around the next corner as a girl came out and looked thoughtfully outside the window, curling one side of her lips to show her frustration as she let out a grunt."And here I was thinking that I could go out and pluck some of the weeds. There's been too much of them around lately."

Tiffany was still shivering in fear at what she saw earlier in the darkness of the abandoned mansion until she heard the girl say "Hey, what're you doing down there?"

"W-what was in th-that r-r-room?" Tiffany asked, her voice trembling violently as she remained under the grand piano, her knees tucked tightly against her chest and her face hidden behind her knees.

"What?" the girl asked back, looking at her questionably as though she was mad.

"I-I-I saw a pair of red eyes, from t-that room!" Tiffany exclaimed as she lifted her head from her knees, pointing at the dark corridor where the girl was standing just one wall away from.

"You're probably seeing things. C'mon out, I'll make something warm for you to calm your nerves." the brunette girl offered as she squatted down and smiled at Tiffany, reaching a hand out to her at the same time.

"B-but.."

"Don't worry, I live here, if there was a monster in my house, I would know, right?" the girl replied, smiling reassuringly at Tiffany.

"I guess so..." Tiffany said after a long while, finally deciding to take up the girl's offer to come out from under the grand piano.

"I take it you have a thing for grand pianos?" the girl giggled at Tiffany as she brought Tiffany to the kitchen and settling her down on one of the stools while she took out some coffee powder, a thermos and some sugar.

"If you're talking about hiding under them, then my answer is no, but if you're talking about loving those pianos, yes I love these pianos a lot." Tiffany replied as she looked cautiously back at the corridor which led to the living room.

"I already said don't worry about any monsters in my house didn't I?" the brunette chuckled,"You're really scared of those things, aren't you?"

"Aren't you scared?" Tiffany asked.

The girl simply shrugged. "Never met one before." she said as she poured some coffee powder into a strainer before passing the hot water through the strainer.

"You're a piano teacher, aren't you?"

"Yeah, how did y--"

"I've seen you around town. You play the piano really well. I'm jealous of your talent."

"Thanks." Tiffany replied, blushing slightly as she lowered her head to hide the red pigmentation on her face. She received these types of compliments most of the time from her neighbors and students, but something about the way this girl put the same words of praise seemed to hit her even harder.

"You're welcome." the girl smiled as she put the cup of coffee on the table and pushed it to Tiffany before walking over to the sink to wash the strainer.

"Thanks." Tiffany repeated herself to thank the stranger for the coffee,"May I know your name?"

The girl immediately stopped digging the coffee powder out of the strainer. The room was suddenly filled with a strange silence as the Tiffany stared at the stranger's turned back for a almost a whole minute. The only thing breaking the silence was the sound of the rain and the sound of water flowing from the sink.

"Excuse me?" Tiffany said, looking curiously at the stranger who seemed to have been startled by her.

When the girl had finally composed herself, she turned off the tap slowly and turned back to Tiffany with a small smile.

"Taeyeon. Kim Taeyeon."
