Reversed Roles

Reversed Roles

Kris usually complained about how his parents were really touchy-feely at times. It was standard in the Wu household that Kris would be met by his parents kissing in the kitchen when they were eating breakfast and proceed to loudly complain about how disgusting they were.

To say that his parents were surprised and maybe a little shocked when they came down to an almost ready-made breakfast to find their son face with a boy was an understatement.

Neither of the two boys, whereof the Wu couple knew one only by looks, noticed when Kris’s parents walked in. Kris was busy tracing the roof of his boyfriend Zitao’s mouth with his tongue and Zitao was busy clinging on to him and sighing into the kiss.

Ahem,” Kris’s father finally decided to make his and his wife’s presence known and the two boys flew apar. Kris nearly knocked the table over in the process and Zitao backed into the sink. He averted his gaze to the floor, cheeks burning as he brought his hand up to dry some excess saliva off his chin with his sleeve.

“Oh, hi dad, mom,” Kris said, obviously flustered. His parents managed to keep their straight faces for about three point five seconds before they burst out laughing. Kris and Zitao shared a confused look and Kris moved over to stand next to his boyfriend, one protective arm around his waist. “What?”

“Nothing, dear,” his mother said. “It’s just reversed roles. Well, who is this?”

“I-I’m Huang Zitao,” Zitao stutteringly introduced himself, blushing a deep shade of red. Kris chuckled and leaned down to peck Zitao’s cheek, causing the boy to go through another three shades of red.

“He’s my boyfriend,” Kris pointed out and his parents laughed again.

“Yes, that much is obvious,” his father said. “Welcome to the family, Huang Zitao!”

Zitao looked surprised, widened eyes shifting between Kris’s parents and Kris’ face. Kris was grinning warmly at him.

“You don’t- you don’t mind?” Zitao murmured finally. Mrs. Wu smiled warmly at him.

“Of course I don’t, dear. Anyone Kris likes is good enough for us. We trust his decisions.”

Kris nudged Zitao’s ribs with his elbow. “See? Told you they wouldn’t mind.” As his parents went on to finish the half-made breakfast, Kris pressed Zitao against the sink to kiss him deeply again.

“I love you,” he whispered against his lips when they parted. Zitao blushed and said nothing, but the quick, chaste kiss he placed on Kris’s lips told him everything he needed to know.

“Wow,” Mr. Wu murmured as he watched them, “I never thought the day would come when I’d describe Kris Wu as ‘cheesy.’”

“Cheesy?” Mrs. Wu said, rolling his eyes and nudging her son’s shoulder to attempt to avert his attention from the boy in his arms to the now ready-made breakfast. It didn’t work. “I think it’s sweet.”

Mr. Wu snorted and Kris made a sort of go away motion with his hand, still with his lips locked to Zitao’s.

It was rather interesting how the roles could be reversed so quickly, not to mention easily.
