Endless Moments in Time - One-Shots
Description
This could've happened a hundred different times to a hundred different people in a hundred different ways. Isn't it kind of fate that it happened to us right here, right now like this?
We all have those moments in time that seemed endless, like it could have went on forever. Some of us might have wanted it to be like that, for that one moment never to end because it seemed so perfect, so surreal, like a fantasy that came true, something that was one in a billion. It was something we could have held onto and never have to let go.
On the other hand, some wished it could have ended as soon as it began because they already knew it's going to be bad. It was going to be something they wish never happened and with all the dread, the moment seemed to go on forever, hating each and every second of it even if it barely lasted a second. The moment would be a part of their past they would rather not bring up, not that they have much of a choice. Thoughts come and go whether we want them or not.
Whether we wish to cherish a moment forever or will it to never have happened, it happened a certain way for a reason. If we were to erase the whole event and not have it happen at all or even just change a bit to make it last longer, it would not be the same outcome. Without that specific event during that specific moment in time with all those specific variables, the other moments following it would be totally different, maybe even the entire course of our life would change because of just one alteration to make a moment last longer or not happen at all.
And of course, when we talk about how long the moment lasted, we mean not the specific length of time but the metaphoric sense that exists only in our minds. The sense that makes it seem like time stops, but in reality, it doesn't. Reality and what goes on in our heads are two entirely different things, especially if it depends on whose mind and perspective.
So many variables go into play just to create that endless moment in time, or atleast that's what we thought when it happened.
Foreword
It happened to you, right here on AFF, right now as you read my writings and like this, however this may have happened. I'd be a stalker to know anyways, but whether you're looking for something to pass time as you wait for the bus or staying up late without much of an objective and just wanting to be entertained, well, here you are. You're reading this and this must be fate right? Because this is the story you ended up reading on your exploration. This is the moment in time where we meet.
So I'd like to welcome you to duckie888's Summer Collection of One-Shots.
I will try my hand at writing with different kinds of genres like angst, comedy, fluff, etc. I will use a random prompt generator and do what ever prompt it gives me. I guess you could say it's something of a challenge but it's something for me to past time and make sure the summer isn't a complete waste. I might update this once a week, twice if you're lucky or abandon it all together. I don't know yet. It just depends on the feedback I get and how this turns out. Don't be surprised if you find out it's deleted the next day.
Now, I honestly have nothing to put in this foreword because I don't know how I'm supposed to foreword a collection of one shots. I got some suggestions but they just don't seem to fit. I'll probably improve this later on but I just needed to get something down.
