'Change of plans.' Yonghwa said.

'Change of plans.' Hyoyeon repeated disbelievingly.

Hyoyeon was still trying to make sense of the situation when suddenly there was a loud cry.

'Hyoyeon-noona!!'

'Aaagh,' Hyoyeon felt the arm land heavily on her shoulders as she was suddenly yanked backwards into male bodies. But their familiarity was quite welcome and she felt the tension releasing from her shoulders.

'YOU TWO, STOP THAT,' Yonghwa moved forward to dettach the trio, separating Hyoyeon from the two excitable puppies, 'That's not the way to treat your seniors.'

'Get out of the way,' Hyoyeon pushed Yonghwa, never one to care about formalities, 'Jungshin-ah, Minhyuk-ah,' she greeted them warmly, 'what the heck are you guys doing here? You should still be in high school!'

'You think we would let hyung come here on his own? We transferred across to YK high school,' Jungshin said, mentioning the elevator high school associated with their university, 'otherwise it would be too difficult to meet for band practise.'

'And this way we can cut class to practise,' Minhyuk added cheekily.

But Hyoyeon was suddenly perplexed... 'where's Jonghyun then?'

'He's...' Minhyuk looked cautiously at Yonghwa, 'he went to L University.'

What remained unsaid, but in everyone's thoughts was the simple fact: Jonghyun was in L-uni with Seohyun.

Hyoyeon's best friend Seohyun was such a clever cookie that she had been accepted a year early to university. But she didn't want to go to the arts university, instead wanting to study Political Science. It made sense that Jonghyun also went there because he had similar interests, but Hyoyeon never expected him to abandon his band.

'I see...' was all she could really say.

Then the bell rang from the nearby high school building.

'I told you we didnt have enough time to visit the university campus!' Minhyuk punched Jungshin in the arm, 'ahhh, late on the first day!'

They bolted without so much as a good-bye.

'Hey are your books heavy?' Yonghwa asked when they were finally left alone.

'Yes they are,' Hyoyeon said.

'Want me to carry them?' he offered.

'Yonghwa,' she glared at him, 'you've played this trick with me too many times. You take my books, place them on a high place you know I can't reach and then laugh as I try to find a way to get them back. Changing schools has not made me forget your tricks.'

He laughed, 'good times.'

She used her book to smack him on the arm, but she couldn't keep from smiling.

'Hey, shall we meet for lunch-- I don't know anyone here yet,' he suggested, as they started walking to the opening ceremony for the first year students.

'You know-- I would be offended by the fact that you only consider eating with me because you know no one else-- but I'm used to it. But I wouldn't worry, by lunchtime you'll have an all new fan club, you won't need me,' she said.

'I'm touched by your confidence in me.'

As she looked him up and down, with his hair falling invitingly across his forehead, his eyes glittering with a teasing look, a lopsided smile with imperfect teeth, and the fact that he had a voice of a (tall and lean) angel... she didn't need to try hard to be confident.

'Get away,' and she walked off to where her faculty students were lining up, his addictive laughter drifting from behind her.

But as Hyoyeon walked away, she knew that those words were as much for her as they were for him. The way her heart was thudding from the past 15 minutes they'd spent together told her what she already suspected-- she wasn't over him.

Get away, Hyo. Just run far, far away. This can't be anything but trouble.
