Reason Why

Description

This is just a one-shot I wrote with Jessica and Tiffany as main characters. I was listening to Tonight - G. Sharma when I wrote this and i's not that much but please do read. Thanks. :)

However, I'm thinking of making this an on-going. I'll wait for your comments and please do leave some. :)

Edit: Nvm ^^^ decided to keep this as it is. :)

Foreword

Does she look at you the way I do?

Try to understand the words you say and the way you move?

Does she get the same big rush?

When you go in for a hug and your cheeks brush?

Tell me am I crazy?

Or is this more than a crush?

After the last strum of guitar, the room was awed and made a perfect silence until the excited one decided to break it.

“Wow! Your voices blend too well. You should sing more often, you know?”

Jessica stood and carefully placed the guitar on its stand before going back to the circle of friends.

“I don’t know, Sunny. I don’t think I’m ready for it yet.” The brunette replied shyly. Jessica turned to look at her and smile. Tiffany smiled back.

“The two of you could be famous when you get exposed.” Taeyeon stated as a matter-of-fact.

“Then you’ll get rich,” added the tan girl as if dreaming of being the one famous and rich.

“And we’ll eat more foods!” The two shikshins shouted in unison.

“Unnie!” Seohyun smacked her two unnies beside her also in unison.

Jessica sneaked closer to Tiffany and held her hands which were now cold from the temperature and the broken heater wasn’t helping. Tiffany, in return, leaned her head on the blonde’s shoulder and slowly closed her eyes not wanting to hear their conversation. It made her feel awkward.

“Guys, I think we should leave the two of them alone. If they don’t want their amazing talents to be exposed, we should respect it.” Hyoyeon stated as if she was the spokesperson of the two.

The girls wanted to protest but when they saw Jessica’s mouth opening, they decided to shut up and listen to what she has to say. She is after all the sergeant in-charge of the group. She coughed a few times before eyeing everyone sending chills down their spine making the other girls realize that they don’t understand why they became friends with this cold monster.

She gazed at Tiffany as if talking only with their bare eyes before looking back at them saying, “Tiffany and I sing because we enjoy it. It’s something we have in common; the music we share, the rhythm that sways us, the beat that goes with our every heartbeat and the melody that makes us one. Singing is the only thing we can do in private and with you, guys. This holds our friendship close to our hearts.”

Once again, these two girls’ voices (more like Jessica’s voice) silenced the whole room. They were struck with her uttered words and the fact that she kind of read their mind by answering their question earlier. They were friends with Jessica because of her reasons. She is always different; she is always the right one. She talks seldom but when she does, prepare for the lash of her wisdom.

After bored by the silence, Tiffany asked her friends to go home because it was already getting late and she was getting tired of the discussions. For the first time, she didn't want babbling with anyone.

She timidly sat on the couch and stared at the window opposite her. Jessica seeing this sight of her best friend went by the piano beside the Christmas tree by the window and pressed the keys. The notes struck Tiffany’s heart making her look at the girl playing the piano. She knows this tune way too well to ignore it.

Maybe if I jump I’ll spread my wings

I know I’ve been wrong about these things

I don’t care if no one else believes

I think that if you believe it then maybe I’ll make it tonight

Tiffany stood and gently walked closer as if being reeled by the piano and the voice.

If I could learn to fly somehow

I’ll catch you right before you hit the ground

So don’t let go of my hand

You are love, here I stand tonight

Jessica continued singing with her eyes closed not noticing that Tiffany is already beside her, staring at the angel singing as if calling to the heavens.

As the song neared the end, Tiffany positioned herself closer to the girl beside her. After the last note, Jessica looked at her right and slowly opened her eyes but before she could even open them, it was shut close because of the kiss she felt. She didn’t want to kiss Tiffany for the first time with her eyes open so she savoured it and listened to every bell chiming, every string strummed, every voices singing, every beat their heart steadily makes.

It was all perfect. A symphony playing by her conduct expressing every feeling she can’t explain. Only they could understand each other without words needed. Music connects them and makes them as one.

Their seconds of kissing felt like hours of concert in their own world. They finally understand why they sing privately, why they understand each other with just merely looks, why they felt incomplete even when they are already happy and contented with their friends and them being best friends.

I think you continue it. The plot is good. And it goes beyond the typical storyline. I suggest you keep the storyline simple without the typical twists like one of them being pregnant, one sided love, unrequited lover or one of them dying. Drama is tiring. Could you please make it about their relationship with eachother, and how their connected. And how music brings them together and is the one thing that is just between them.
Thats just a suggestion. Its up to you if you want to listen to it or not.
