Can't You See? I Was Adopted To Be With You.
I laid in the wide opened spaced meadow, twining a strand of grass with my index finger.
Feeling bored, I turned over to lay on my back as I stared up above the sky watching the sun go down before me.
The wind soundlessly swished my floral dress, cooling my heated body.
Ignoring the feeling I whispered breathlessly as my eyes drooped, ''Umma... Appa... Good night''.
I can't stay awake for you right now.
I woke up hearing the sound of grass ruffling besides me.
My eyes squinted to see what was happening, but the darkness blinded me from my visions.
''Whose there?'' I muttered without fear.
I heard a sudden sob from a female in the background.
My ears earnestly focused on the female as I got up and started slowly walking in the direction of the cry.
''Whose there?'' I tried again as I got closer with each step.
''Ahra?'' The female stopped crying.
''Ahra is that you?'' The female questioned with fear.
''Whose there?'' I tried once more, as I did not want to give my identity just yet.
''It's me... Minyoung''
Minyoung? What is she doing here?
''Are you ok?'' I asked her getting closer.
I found her foot and sat beside her grabbing onto her shoulder to comfort her.
''Minyoung?''
Suddenly.
Her head snapped violently at me. Her eyes poured out with blood while her face was filled with pure hatred.
She jumped at me, strangling me with her lean hands.
''This is your fault that they left! Yours and only yours!'' She screamed
Her voice echoed through my head...
''Yours and only yours''.
My eyes burst open.
My top half of my body sprung up, eyes darting across the pastel coloured room.
So It was just a dream...
My eyes made it's way to the bed next to me.
Finding Minyoung sleep in a uncomfortable looking position.
I frowned as I thought how mean it was for me to dream such a thing about my younger sister.
My body slowly relaxed as I fell back onto my puffed up bed.
How did I get here from the meadow anyway? I carefully thought.
No wait! How did I actually get here? I thought again.
Without a second to spare. I swung out off my bed.
Waggling in my pikachu onesie as I made my way downstairs.
I walked towards the main office of the orphanage.
I knocked on the door, waiting patiently for a response.
''Come in'' Was all I got.
I shrugged and opened the door anyway. Smiling brightly as my eyes met a busy Ms Wong filing up some papers.
''Hi'' I waved endlessly at her while smiling like a fool.
''Is that all you got to say to me Ahra?'' Ms Wong smirked
''Huh?'' I answered confusingly at her question, cocking my head to the side.
Ms Wong rubbed her temples as she closed her eyes.
''You went missing last night''. She continued on.
''Oh...'' Remembering that I forgot to confirm Ms Wong where I was headed to, I felt a pang of guilt hit me like a train.
I bit my lip waiting for her to scold me.
But nothing.
''Ahra... Don't do it again'' Ms Wong said giving me her sorrow eyes.
''Mianhe...''. Was all I could say to her.
Ms Wong sighed as she put her files down and sat on her chair behind her desk.
''You were lucky that a couple found you, if not you would of frozen to death out there'' Ms Wong carried on
''A couple?'' I looked up at her.
''Yes a man and a women, they went out hiking and found you lying in a meadow far from here! Do you even know how far you went?''
I shook my head.
''You were 2 miles away! How did you get that far?''
''I... Just like walking''. I honestly said.
Ms Wong sighed once more as she shook her head.
''Right... Well. The couple is going to be back to check on you again, show your respect ok? Also hurry up and get your uniform on. The school bus is going to arrive. Tell your sister too.''
''Ne Ms Wong'', I said.
''You may leave now''. I bowed and walked back upstairs to my bedroom.
I was about to open the door, but instead the door open abruptly.
I was about to go in but was stopped as I was greeted with a flick on the head.
''Ow!'' I whined rubbing my forehead.
''What was that for?''
My sister face emerged from my view
''You babo!''.
''I'm not a babo''. I fought back.
''You are too! What the hell did you think you were doing out late at night?''
''I wanted to relax''
''You could of relaxed when you slept in your bed!''.
''Awr does my sister care about me?'' I said cutely as I wrapped my arm around hers.
''No!'' She pushed me away. ''You just ruined my beauty sleep''.
I pouted at her.
''I see that sleep is way more important then me''
She nodded.
Why I-
Why didn't I strangle her instead in my dream?!
''Anyway. I saw the couple that bought you back. Oh my days! They are so freaking good-looking! I mean did you see their attire? It was all branded!'' She said flailing her arms.
I wanted to face palm myself as she asked me such a stupid question.
''First, I was a sleep. Secondly, I wouldn't even know what's branded even if you gave it to me''
''Good point'' she sheepishly said.
''But anyways, wouldn't it be great if they were to adopt us?''
''Didn't you say that to the last couple that wanted to adopt us but you turned them down because they weren't rich enough?''
''Yeah... BUT! This time I know for sure these guys are THE bank''.
I shook my head in disappointed. ''Minyoung, it's not all about the money''.
''Unnie, you are not Jessie J. And it is about the money if they think they can look after us''.
''Do you mean you?''
''What's that meant to mean?'' She questioned with annoyance.
I smiled cheekily as I shrugged ''Nothing~~''.
Minyoung carried on blabbering on about the 'rich' couple.
Then again. My thoughts was also on the couple.
I wonder what they looked like.
*After school*
I got off the school bus, waving happily to the bus driver. Thanking him as usual.
Minyoung ignored us and walked off on her own, already pretending that she didn't know me.
I turned to look at her, running to catch up beside her.
''How was school? I didn't get a chance to ask you because you were sat with your friends''
Minyoung clutched harder onto her back pack strap.
''Does it matter?'' She coldly said.
I shrugged ''If you didn't want to answer you could of lied'' I pointed out.
''Shut up'' she snapped back at me.
I shook my head pouting.
Minyoung's POV
Ahra stalked me all the way back to the orphanage.
Gosh she was annoying...
She wants to know how was school?
It as usual.
People always stare at me like I'm some sort of slag.
And on the other hand, there are my friends who are more interested then what my unnie is doing rather then what I'm doing.
It's only because we're from different schools.
She goes to a freaking elite school, where as I go to a god damn public school.
How am I going to meet rich guys and develop a well-known reputation?
Anyway, Ahra was so lucky to get in the school.
It's only because of her grades.
She makes me look so stupid and useless.
It's ok.
Even if I am her twin.
I'm a lot more prettier then she would ever be.
But enough about her!
Just look at what's happening now!
Me and Ahra walked inside the orphanage to find the couple that was here last night looking around the place.
I smiled brightly.
Maybe they were here to adopt someone! I giggled to myself with joy.
This is my quick way to be rich.
Ahra's POV
I blinked multiple times as I gazed at the beautiful couple in front of me.
Were they the ones from last night?.. What sort of question was that?
It's more like 'Were they even human?...'.
My eyes darted to Minyoung as I heard her suddenly giggle darkly.
Hmph! I see she's already planned out her escape.
Ms Wong came out of her office and walked towards the couple.
''Ahra will be here soon enough. But would you like some tea for the time being?''
Before they could answer Minyoung already made her towards the couple and Ms Wong.
''Annyeong Ms Wong''
''Oh annyeong Minyoung!''
I watched silently as Ms Wong turned to the couple and told them Minyoung was my younger sister.
They 'ah-ed' as they gave out their cute eye smile.
''Speaking of Ahra, where is she now?''
''I don-''
I cut her off as I didn't want her to confuse Ms Wong with her 'I don't know' because Ms Wong already knows we get off the same bus and walk the same path.
''I'm here!'' I glanced at Minyoung.
She glared at me, but managed to hide it with a fake smile.
I gulped at her action.
''This is the couple I told you about! Like I said, Mr and Mrs Yang would like to speak to you''
''And remember to be polite'' Ms Wong muttered.
I nodded as I followed the couple or now known as Mr and Mrs Yang, to the office.
I turned back to look at Minyoung to find her giving me the 'don't-screw-this-up look' as the door close.
Mr and Mrs Yang sat down and I followed a long.
There was a awkward silence as Mrs Yang stared at me with her big doe eyes.
''Your really pretty'' Mrs Yang said out in the blue.
Her voice made me bubble inside.
''Kamsahamnida'' I bowed lightly, cheeks flaming in embarrassment.
''Aigoo~ Kyeopta and polite'' Mr Yang joined in with his partner, while she nodded along.
''Ms Wong told me all about you when you were attending school, did you know that two of my sons attend there your school? You may not know them though. It is a big school''
''Oh, well if I see a boy with a beautiful face I would make sure to introduce myself'' Realizing what I said I hung my head low.
My cheeks are now melting from the flame!
''Aigoo! Such a sweet girl. It's such a shame that your parents died. I bet they were just as sweet as you''
''Yeobo!'' Mrs Yang shot at Mr Yang
''It's ok'' I replied sheepishly trying not to make eye contact.
Mrs Yang bit her lip eyeing Mr Yang as he murmured his apologies through his pout.
''So... Um... What do you think about getting new parents?'' Mrs Yang answered anxiously after some time.
''Parents?'' I smiled brightly ''I would love that''
''You would?'' They both asked at the same time.
I giggled ''Of course''
''Would you like it if we were you parents?''
I was shocked at their question.
But I remembered Minyoung's look so I quickly nodded.
''Omo! This is great! But we have to tell our kids first!''
Mr Yang and Mrs Yang got up quickly.
I got up too confused.
''Well Ahra. We will see you soon''
I bowed at them as they left.
Wait...
Does that mean I might actually be adopted?
I would like to apologize to people who had a shock reading this.
I'm sorry that it's a long chapter.
I'm just sorry O.O
