“Do you want to be my boyfriend, Donghae-ssi?”

I hung my head low, afraid of his reaction. Is he going to reject me? I bit my lips hard. I don’t know what he'll say.

“Yes.”

I snapped my eyes wide open, “Seriously?!”

“Hmm.”

“Thank you so much!!”

Out of happiness, I jumped to hug Donghae. Huh? He’s… pushing me? So I released my body from Donghae’s immediately. I bit my lips and stared at my foot, embarrassed with what I’ve done.

“I—I’m sorry…”

He's mumbling unknown sentenced which my ears couldn’t catch up. I stared at him, doubting if he really accepted me a few minutes ago? But… why is his face so cold?

“Donghae-ssi... you... don’t have to accept me if you don’t want to, okay?”

“No, I really want it. You’re not forcing me.”

Then an awkward silence surrounded us.

Duh.

Where’s the smile he shows everytime he's talking to his bestfriend? I’m not used to seeing the awkward Donghae like this. Aish, I’m not forcing him to accept me, really! He said he’s not being forced, but what's with his act?

“Uhm… then…. Do… us… in a relationship now?”

He shrugged his shoulder, “Isn’t the answer obvious already? You confessed to me and I accepted you, duh.”

“Ah… y-yes.”

Another awkward silence.

Is this the situation when people are dating? Aish! Isn’t he the most talkative-cheerful-childish-and-humble person in the school? Why is he being like this in front of me? Not talking and doing nothing. Is he conscious around me?

“Donghae-ssi…,” I dared myself to call him for the nth time.

“Hey,” and finally, for the first time, he’s looking at my eyes when he’s talking to me, “Don’t call me with –ssi, just put it out. Call me Donghae or Hae, which one do you like? It's up to you. Or do you want to call me by your own nickname? Everything is fine.”

“I think… Donghae is better...”

“Okay, what do you want to ask before, Hyukjae-ah?”

So he knows my name.

“Ahn, that’s… uh…. Are you awkward with me? Do you feel weird having me by your side?”

“No.”

“Then…why you..?”

“Me? What’s wrong with me?”

I stared at his brown-almond-eyes which is looking at me with a question look. Those eyes could make me forget the question I wanted to ask. I bowed my head embarrassed, with a shade of pink in my cheeks.

“Ahn, just forget it! Do… do you want to go back to class?”

He glanced at his watch before looking at me, “I don’t think I am. The class hasn’t started yet. Do you want to go to your class now?”
