When I was young, my parent divorced. At the age of 10, my father remarried and brought home another mother for me. This mother had a daughter who was 5 years younger than I was which made her 5 years old while I was 10. At first I never really understood why my father had to go and remarry another mother for me. I was happy and satisfied with my birth mother. I wasn’t too happy with my father’s decision; therefore, I distanced myself away from my step-mother, my father, and my step-sister.

As I grew up, I never really got myself involved with our family outings or events. Whenever we had one, I’ll always give them a lame excuse just so that I wouldn’t have to attend. As I grew older and so did my step-sister, I suddenly harbored feelings towards her. Feelings that I wasn’t suppose to be there. I told myself that it was some kind of phase I was going through, but slowly did I not realize that the more she lived with us, near me, the more my feelings grew and grew.
