Epilogue
Mirror Mirror~One year later~
Your POV
“It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it?” Kai murmured as he admired the green land around us. The light warm breeze blew by gently.
I smiled and nodded. “Yeah.”
It had been a year since that fire. Police never found the house, funnily. They had gotten a call that day from passer-by’s about two weird looking men lurking around the neighborhood, weird disturbances and noises.
It was like the house disappeared into thin air. When we left, it was just gone, like it was never there in the first place.
I brought Kai out her to the country. I didn’t know what to do. My home, the only think I knew was just gone like that.
I didn’t know how I did it. I didn’t know how I survived hours on that train ride, not knowing is Kai was going to wake up or not. During that whole trip, he had muttered, “~~~~~” over and over again. But which ~~~~~ he dreamt of, I don’t know. It was probably Lee ~~~~~.
When we arrived to some unknown destination, a nice old couple allowed us to stay in one of their unoccupied small houses, free of charge.
For months, I nursed Kai back to health. Those months were a living hell for me. Some days, he improved, other days he just got really ill. But I got through it.
When he woke up, the first thing he did when he saw me was hug me tight and say, “~~~~~-ah, you’re alright.” Again, which ~~~~~ he was talking about, I had no clue. My guess was Lee ~~~~~ though.
But it seems that although he was awake and well, he was just not the same. He was still Kai, but not completely the same. He was more relaxed, freer, happier and much calmer.
Though freer, didn’t mean he could move… he had to sit on a wheelchair for his legs were paralyzed. The Kai I had known would’ve done something about it using that big brain of his, but he didn’t.
He never spoke about the past at all. It was like he completely forgot about it.
But he remembered ~~~~~… or me… whoever he remembered.
He pulled me closer to him and rested my head on his shoulder. “~~~~~-ah Let’s enjoy this perfect moment, alright?”
Kai might’ve thought that he was talking to Lee ~~~~~ at that very moment, instead of a clone, but that still made me happy. Who knows? He might be talking to me for me; a clone that he created.
I nodded and smiled, looking up at the sky. At least all of us are happy, living in our own fantasy worlds…
