“Why do you always like doing last minute Christmas shopping Paige? Do you know how crowded the malls are?” you grumbled to your best friend as the both of you browsed through the shops.

“I know. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I thought I’ve gotten everything I’ve needed. I didn’t think I’d forget to get something for someone.”

“Who?” you raised an eyebrow at her.

You mentally check off every name you could think of. No, she’s gotten presents for everyone.

“Who did you missed out?” you repeated the question sensing Paige shifting uncomfortably beside you.

“It doesn’t matter,” she waved her hands in dismissal. “What about you? Don’t you want to get anything for Jin Ki?”

That made you stop probing. Just hearing his name made you grin widely inside but you manage to keep a straight face in front of Paige.

“Should I?” you act nonchalantly about the whole thing but the truth was, you already had gotten something for him.

Though, you are still debating on whether you should give it to him. You guys were friends but there was this nagging feeling inside that is holding you back.

“Wae? You like him don’t you?” Paige grinned at you as she nudged you at the side. “Come on, you don’t have to hide it from me.”

“Let’s just go and get your present now okay?”

So what if you like him? It’s not like as if he’s going to return those feelings.

Jin Ki’s POV

“Why are you acting like such a wimp man? If you like the girl, just tell her!”

I scoffed at Kyu Hyun’s frank statement.

“Easy for you to say. You’re not the one stuck in this situation.”

He casually slung an arm around my shoulder.

“What’s the problem here? Are you afraid she’s going to turn you down?”

I thought about it for a moment.

“No. Well, maybe a little. But you see, every time I’m out with Elizabeth and I try to bring up the subject, there’s always something else distracting her. I don’t know how else to get the message across!”

“Excuses,” he smirked. “Listen. Christmas is coming up soon right? It’s the perfect season for a couple to get together!”

“But what if she rejects me?”

Kyu Hyun gave me a light punch on the shoulder.

“You won’t know unless you try right?”

I thought hard about his suggestion. He was right. Christmas is a joyful season after all right? Elizabeth won’t let me down.

At least, I hope she won’t.

Paige’s POV

“Ho ho ho. At last you guys came! Merry Christmas to you!”

“Merry Christmas to you too Paige!” Kyu Hyun and Jin Ki both greeted me with a hug.

“Where’s Elizabeth?” Jin Ki asked as he took a look around the house.

“Ah! Why are you looking for her?” I asked as I waggled my finger at him.

Jin Ki took a step back as his face flushed.

“Uh no. Just wondering. She’s here right?”

Kyu Hyun gave him a slap on the back.

“How much more obvious can you get?” he shook his head. “He’s really excited to meet her.”

“Ah no. I mean, yes. I...of course. We’re all here to celebrate Christmas together after all,” Jin Ki stammered.

I couldn’t help but chuckle amusingly at his reaction.

“You should really confess you know. Before it’s too late.”

“Ah both of you. Why are you being like this? Fine, tonight okay?” he gave in, knowing he couldn’t escape anymore.

“Yes!” both Kyu Hyun and I said in unison.

You heard commotion in the living room and decided to take a look. You saw that Jin Ki and Kyu Hyun had already arrived.

 You couldn’t help but noticed how handsome Jin Ki really was; especially when he seems to have a glow around him on this special day.

“Oh, you guys are finally here. Good, dinner is almost ready. I’ll be out in a minute,” you said.

As you were about to excuse yourself into the kitchen, you heard Jin Ki calling out to you.

“Elizabeth. Wait awhile.”

“It’s okay Liz. You go ahead and have a talk with him. Kyu Hyun will help me out with dinner.”

Paige gave us a knowing look as he led Kyu Hyun towards the kitchen.

“What is it Jin Ki?” you smiled at him but you felt a flutter of excitement as he took a step closer to you until you guys were only inches apart.

“Elizabeth, there’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you...”

“Yeah?” you looked up at him expectantly.

“I love you Elizabeth. I’ve always do,” he said softly.

You froze in your spot, unsure of how to react to his sudden confession. Did he just say...?

“Liz, are you going to say something?”

“I...I like you too,” you replied shyly.

Jin Ki smiled down at you before glancing up at the mistletoe which was hanging above of your head.

Somehow, you knew what was coming next and your heart was beating twice its normal speed.

“Merry Christmas Elizabeth.”

“Merry Christmas Jin Ki,” you said just before both of your lips met for the very first time.

“Finally! The pair of you took such a long time.”

You quickly pulled away in embarrassment as you saw Paige and Kyu Hyun standing there and grinning widely.

“I thought you guys had some work to do?” Jin Ki asked them accusingly.

“We couldn’t possibly miss this special moment can we?”

“Yah. It’s our special moment. Why don’t you get your own?” he nodded towards Kyu Hyun whose expression had changed now.

Jin Ki wrapped his arm around you and turned to say something.

“Jagiya, don’t you think they’d make a cute couple?”

You noticed Paige’s smile was frozen on her face as well now.

“Yes. Paige and Kyu Hyun should totally go out together,” you caught on to the hint.

“Oh come on! Let’s just go eat our dinner now!” Paige changed the topic as she tried to get away.

Kyu Hyun who was laughing since just now was silent now.

It was obvious the both of them have feelings for each other too.

You looked up at Jin Ki who was giving you one of his many adorable eye smiles.

Yes. Christmas was definitely a very special season.
