You sat at the dining table, opposite of him as you eat your food numbly. Just looking at his boyish rugged face was enough to make you tingle with excitement inside.

It was pretty hard to believe you’ve lived with him for 12 years now and still the feelings you have for him are just getting stronger.

“Hyo Jin,” he called out to you suddenly. “Why are you staring at me like that?”

“Uh wae?” you were caught off guard. “I...there’s something on your face.”

“Jinjja?” he asked you back blankly. “Can you wipe it for me?”

You took a napkin from beside you and reached forward to help him. As you wipe the corner of his mouth hesitantly, you couldn’t help but notice how much this man in front of you has grown.

You still remember when he had first come into your family; when your parents had first brought him home.

“Noona, who is that?” your youngest sibling, Tae Min tugged at your arm as he pointed towards the door.

You looked up from the book you were reading and stared up ahead where Tae Min was pointing.

You saw both of your parents coming through the doorway with a little boy in between them.

Both Tae Min and you immediately stopped whatever you are doing and stood up slowly.

“Hyo Jin, Tae Min. Come here. Appa would like you to meet someone.”

You took tentative steps towards them, still curious about the presence of another boy in your house.

“Hyo Jin, this is Jiyong. He’s going to be living with us starting from today.”

Jiyong.

You glanced up at your mother, looking for further explanation.

“Yes. Just treat him like your own oppa okay? Like Sung Min oppa.”

Your gaze was fixed on Jiyong, like he was some kind of a unique masterpiece.

He had this tough yet kind looks that makes you think twice about becoming close with him.

But to call him oppa; you had a hard time getting that out from your mouth.

“What are you guys doing?”

Almost immediately, you dropped your hands to your side as you sank back in your seat. Your face felt hot as you saw Sung Min oppa and Tae Min approaching the dining table.

Tae Min had this smirk on his face; like he knows he has caught you this time.

“Hyo Jin was just helping me out,” Jiyong said casually as he finished up the last bit of his food. “You guys are late.”

“Yeah well. Someone didn’t wake us up. Maybe she did it on purpose,” Tae Min said pointedly, raising his eyebrow at you.

You were about to retort back but Sung Min cut you off.

“Are you going anywhere today Jiyong?”

To your disappointment, he nodded. You were hoping that perhaps he would stay home today and you guys could spend some time together.

“Yes. I’m meeting Dara. She asked me to accompany her to buy some things.”

Sandara Park.

You fumed in anger as you heard him say her name.

Why was he being so close with her? They’ve been spending a lot of time together. Did he like her or something?

“Doesn’t she have anyone else to accompany her?” you said it out loud without realising.

Three pair of eyes turned to look at you, surprised by your sudden irritated tone.

“Do you have any problem with it Hyo Jin?”

“N...no...” you stammered as you tried to avoid his eyes.

“Good. I’ll get going now then. See you guys later.”

You bit hard on your tongue to keep yourself from coming him back.

It’s bad enough your two brothers were trying very hard to hold back their laughter.

“It’s getting on my nerves. I really don’t know what to do now.”

Gyu Ri looked at you sympathetically.

“Why don’t you just confess to him?”

“Are you crazy?” you cried out. “That would be the absolute last thing I would ever do!”

“Okay okay. Sorry for even suggesting it. Really Hyo Jin, why couldn’t you like someone who’s less complicated to get?”

You stared at the calm blue sea as your thoughts wandered off to Jiyong.

“I can’t explain these feelings I have for him. I just know that I love him...”
