MosquitoStop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it -
Certain individuals wound you so deep that not even a thousand shots down the stomach would make you want to bring them up.
Such is Seulgi’s existence in Seungwan’s life. To put it accurately, it wasn’t just a heartbreak, mixed with it was large amounts of hopelessness and longing. Until now, Seungwan has managed to not mention Seulgi’s name in front of Joohyun no matter what condition she was in, last night was Joohyun’s first time hearing Seulgi’s name.
What kind of person was Seungwan? To Joohyun she was like an enigma. Other than her work, Seungwan almost had nothing else going on in her life, everyone in the company knew this. But when Joohyun reconsidered the situation, there wasn’t another soul that knew about her relationship with Seungwan either. Maybe Seungwan was just an extremely secretive individual. Judging by Sooyoung’s demeanor at the bar, it couldn't be an accident that Seungwan suddenly blurted out Seulgi’s name while unconscious.
The fact of the matter is, Seungwan was drunk, laying in front of Joohyun, and yet spoke of another person’s name.
Seungwan did not lay a finger on Joohyun this night like she usually would. Her mumbling was also soon replaced by steady breathing. She had a dream, in her dream Seulgi was standing in front of her, the same way that she looked five years ago, and gently said to her: “Seungwan, I’ve come back.”
And that was how Joohyun heard the words that came out of Seungwan’s mouth. Like the buzzing of a mosquito, the fine tone of Seungwan’s voice left a deep puncture in Joohyun’s heart – she suddenly realized that knew almost nothing about Seungwan, the person that she had spent countless nights together with.
Seungwan’s abnormal behavior didn’t stop at her inactions towards Joohyun. The next morning, Seungwan spoke to Joohyun for the first time before leaving.
“Sorry for last night.”
“… its fine. But I’ve never seen you drink at a bar before.”
“I wasn’t in my best state yesterday.”
“… wanna talk about it?”
Seungwan stared at Joohyun. It wasn’t that Seungwan didn’t want to talk about it, although she and Joohyun couldn’t be considered friends, it was hard to define what exactly their relationship was. She couldn’t just talk about her ex-girlfriend while having just slept on Joohyun’s bed. And so, she went a different direction and brought up a different subject.
“It’s probably because we’re gonna be really busy in the coming weeks. You already know right? The collaboration with Kang Corp.”
“…Kang …Seulgi.”
Suddenly, the “Seulgi” that came from Seungwan’s mouth had a surname.
Of course, there was no way that Seungwan could’ve known that she said Seulgi’s name out loud while dreaming, hearing Joohyun quietly speak of Seulgi’s name, she furrowed her brows.
“You… know her?”
“… no. But when we were doing our report on Kang Corp I saw her name as the new district manager.”
“… yeah, since she’s back now, there shouldn’t be any problems with the collaboration.”
Seungwan was confident about Seulgi’s abilities in the field, but she didn’t realize her words pierced right through Joohyun.
“… so you know her?”
Joohyun carefully probed, but she already knew the answer in her heart.
“I used to, but… not anymore.”
Not wanting to continue the discussion, Seungwan got off the bed to dress up.
“From now on, is it okay to not only call me when you’re drunk?”
Joohyun resolved to ask the question before Seungwan left. Hearing the question
