GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL: CHARACTERS ♡ GEMMA KIM gemma kim, or better known as professor kim, is the infamous pokemon professor of the hoenn region. once an archaeologist, she was mainly known for her significant contributions towards infinity energy, which quickly brought her to fame and improved living standards in hoenn quite considerably. now as the pokemon professor, her studies mainly revolve around pokemon habitats, which is partly why she tasked her son with helping her fill in the pokedex to grasp a better understanding of the diverse region in order to help with her studies. as a person, professor kim is cordial and helpful, willing to offer her assistance and knowledge. those who visit her for their pokemon journeys always say their interactions with her are pleasant, and that she really is a pokemon professor to look up to. ♡ AIDEN KIM aiden kim might look tall, dark, and handsome, standing at impressive height with an attractive face that's gotten him almost as much attention as being the only son of professor kim, but friends would describe him as a beagle with lots of energy and recklessness to him. despite his lack of attention and competence at times, aiden is a good-natured kid who genuinely believes in the kindness of people and pokemon, which is why he knows that he wants to be a pokemon researcher, just like his mom. as far as he is from that aspiration right now, however, he accepted his mom's offer of helping her complete the pokedex without a second thought, ready to see the world and seize the day, maybe even meeting some new people who can help him reach that dream. LEADERS

↓ gym leaders test a trainer's worth by challenging them to a battle. if defeated, they give out an official gym badge as a symbol of strength, to allow for trainers to continue with their journey. each gym leader specializes in a specific type of pokemon, and pokemon become stronger as trainers continue down the league. there is a total of eight gyms in hoenn, listed below. ROCK-TYPE LEADER
STONE BADGE LILY. lily might only be the first gym leader, but she still puts up an amazing battle for anyone who challenges her at the beginning point of their journey. once a top graduate and former teacher in the pokemon trainer's school, she was offered the rustboro gym leader position and accepted it with the intent of applying what she learned in school and facing many opponents to see how they battle. outside of the gym challenge, lily is a warm and kind lady, who is incredibly helpful to new trainers.
