The Target

Description

Jonghyun, Minho, Key and Taemin had seen it all when it comes to break ups: hearts shattered, tears, begging and even suicide attempts. However, they’re not the ones in tears… but the ones causing it.

It’s all part of a game they play. The main objective: how much damage can they leave on a girl’s heart.

The game is simple: make a girl fall in love with them. Once she had fallen deep enough, leave her – painfully. The worse the break up, the greater the satisfaction they get watching the girl break apart.

However, as much as Key enjoys this little game they play, everything was becoming repetitive to him. He wanted someone more challenging than the girls he had already scarred. When the School President, Park Jihye – a workaholic with a strange personality – becomes his next target, everything changes and he begins to question the life he once knew and enjoyed.

As the game becomes more difficult to the life he once knew and enjoyed.

As the game becomes more difficult to play, will he give up and admit defeat? Or will he stick to his original plan and break Jihye’s heart once he has it?ill he give up and admit defeat? Or will he stick to his original plan and break Jihye’s heart once he has it?

Foreword

--Key POV--

We each have our own way in marking our targets:

Jonghyun likes the nice, quiet girls and having a thing for corrupting their clean minds and breaking their innocent’s image.

Taemin prefers the noonas; preying on their desire to feel young again. The things he can do with that childish face of his is often incredible – from cleaning them out financially to even destroying a marriage – he can do it all.

Minho is… unpredictable. The girls he chooses are mostly at random but his method to capture their hearts is the cruelest among the four of us. He likes to take his time with his targets – studying them carefully from a distance; finding out their likes and dislikes, what they do, how they act and (most importantly) their ideal type. Once he had everything he needed to know, he creates this prefect image for himself and shows up in their life, making them believe they had finally found their soul mate.

I, however, don’t exactly have specific criteria for my targets. I don’t need one. Every girl is the same; they’re easy to control if you process the knowledge of how to sweet talk and have a pretty face. Luckily for me, I have both. Usually, I’ll mark any girl that interests me; someone that stands out the most among the crowd.

Why we play this game?

Cause it’s fun.

---------

“We’re breaking up.” I stated coldly, not even bothered to cushion up the break up. I suppressed the urge to smirk when I saw her eyes widen and fill up with tears.

“But why?” she cried.

“I’m done with you.”

And for a matter of fact, I’ve been. She was beginning to bore me to death. I thought she would have been worth the effort of being marked, considering how different we were but, hell, was that thought proven wrong. I should had ended the relationship earlier – to release me from this torture – but it would had been pointless marking her in the first place if I couldn’t get the full satisfaction out of it in the end. And right now, watching the endless stream of tears fall down her face is pretty satisfying.

“Key, please. Don’t do this.” she begged, grabbing on to my arm. “I thought you said you love me.”

I stared at her for a moment, my cold expression softened. I reached out slowly and place my hand on the side of her face, caressing her cheek with my thumb.

She had stopped crying as if my touch was all she needs to be convinced that I was just playing some cruel joke on her.

I leaned in close, only to whisper my two favorite words: “I lied.”

Ah I jumped from my seat when I saw this update! I haven't been reading much lately, really only sticking with this story that my friend wrote, but boy am I glad that you updated.
I like Onew's appearance here; it gives Key some healthy competition haha. I wonder what's wrong with Jihye. On the surface, she seems almost psychotic, but I don't think that's it. I mean, she doesn't want to worry her mom and has a close relationship with at least one person (Onew). I definitely hope you update more in the summer because then I'll be free to read too!

I just really love the character Jihye. I don't mean to be pushy haha this comment isn't supposed to rush you to update or anything.
