Big Hit Entertainment had denied reports that claimed Jimin is in a relationship with anyone. Hence, not engaged.

On November 26, the news outlet Dispatch reported that according to a very relevant source, Jimin and his non-celebrity long-time girlfriend got engaged that day after the Grammy nomination announcement. The source also claimed that his non-celebrity girlfriend is younger and is in her fourth year studying in one of South Korea's most prestigious universities! 

The article has been corrected to state that Big Hit Entertainment has told them that the claims about her educational background and the reports that an engagement that has already been held are false.

Big Hit Entertainment has announced that BTS' Jimin is engaged.

The agency's statement is as follows:

Hello. This is Big Hit Entertainment.

Jimin has someone he wants to hold dear for the rest of his life and will be getting married. His fiancée is a non-celebrity. Though the wedding date is not very soon due to the coronavirus pandemic, the couple had already started with the wedding plans by deciding that the wedding be held privately with only their families and a few close friends in attendance. 

To respect the couple and both of their families' privacy, we ask fans and reporters for their kind understanding. 

We ask fans to give Jimin and his fiancée the same amount of support, the same way you have shown Jimin and the rest of the group members love, blessings, and messages of celebration in the last seven years. 

Jimin will continue to be dedicated and work hard as an artist.

A source from Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that BTS' Jimin's fiancée is currently in her post-undergraduate studies and added that because she is a non-celebrity, they cannot reveal any other related details.

Jimin has shared a handwritten letter announcing the news.

Hello, ARMY. This is Jimin.

I am writing this because I have something to tell you. I am very nervous because I know words will never be enough but it is much more difficult to waste time thinking about when and how I should announce this commitment publicly. Most especially, I want to be honest and be open to our fans who gave us [BTS] so much love and support. 

Back when someone's empty spot was our dream, she was just a dear friend who believed in me and was one of the very few people who genuinely trusts that I could make it. She was one of just ten to fifteen audiences who screamed our chant at the top of her lungs that June 13, 2013 at the MCountdown. She was the one who always made me come to my senses whenever I wanted to quit during our group's early years. She was one of the reasons why I held my heart together and kept going. 

The funny thing is I confessed to her many times before but she kept on turning me down for she believed that someday we [BTS] will make it big and a relationship will just ruin the opportunity. So I didn't rush. I focused on my dreams and she focused on hers overseas. We continued to keep in touch despite the distance. Even when she was far away, she never failed to show support and show love and encouragement the same way ARMY shows it. 

There are people who come into our lives with a purpose and change it for the better. She is that kind of person to me for the past nine years. 

Fast forward to today, I have come to a mature decision and have listened to my heart. 

I'm really thankful to my members for genuinely congratulating me after the engagement, and I deeply thank you, ARMY, for sending me so much undeserving love all these years.

ARMY, please continue to love me and my members as you have until now. Thank you for waiting and believing in me. I promise to continue to live my life as a great artist despite this definite and surreal step in my life.

I end this letter with a piece of advice. When life's battles start to settle in, make sure you hold onto that source of happiness that keeps you going because as long as you hold on to that, even when you feel like there's nothing left in this world that could lift you up from your lowest of lows, that happiness will lead you to your biggest achievements. The rest will follow.
