“Uh.. Baekhyun..” I said and he let me go instantly. I blinked my eyes, “I..Im okay, really..” I said, my eyes cannot help but to keep looking at him. Why is he acting like this?

His gaze is everywhere but me, not until he realized that I am actually shaking.

“How is this okay to you?” He raised his eyebrows, questioning me from a distance. I look down to my trembling hands and gulped. “Im sorry, I lied” I said out of the blue. My brain is not working as I want it to, and his stares on me is not helping too. “What..-what was that?” I ask, not being able to turn around and look at the creature, so I fix my eyes on him instead.

“Its dead.. is it?”

Baekhyun look passed behind me for a while and nod, “Yeah” he said before changing his gaze to me, “You’re still shaking“

“I know” I said under my breath, the creature’s red eyes is still longing around in my head and I can’t seem to come to my senses. “Im sorry I should have listen to you..” He said, suddenly the air turns awkward between us two. Baekhyun doesnt seem to know what to do in this situation, he is acting just like the awkward friend who doesn’t know how to comfort someone in such situation.

He take off his blazer instead, remain in his simple shirt and handed it to me.

“Stop shaking like that and wear this, you’re in a dress that doesn’t suit the forest” He said. His hand is in the air, holding onto the color blazer while his face is facing the other side of me. It is as if he is too embarrassed to comfort me like this.

I didn’t take it, instead I wait for him to look at me in question when I let him hanging there. I want to tell him that his caring eyes is enough to comfort me here but I cant seem to say the word. I smile when our eyes met, “Did I tell you that you’re such a good person, Byun Baekhyun?”

He blinked his eyes, confused with my words. The sky is still gloomy but his eyes sparkles just like how the first time I saw it. The wind passes by us and I come to my senses, “Should we go back to the hut? The wind is getting stronger”

“Ah.. sure” He said but I catch his hand, stopping him from taking any step, “Can we use other route? I don’t want to see that thing again”

He has that small weak smile when he trying to say yes, except that he never say it. I just knew his answer right away and it make me feel relief every single time. I feel safe when he did that.

“Okay”

“Okay”

Under the hut now doesn’t feel the same as the first time we were here before. There’s a bit of awkwardness but not enough for me to feel uncomfortable around him.

“Where did you go earlier?”

“Hunting”

“Again?”

“I need to find you something to eat, don’t I?”

I get up from my lying position,”You know.. I have been wondering”

“Of what?”

“Do you usually care this much?”

“...no” He simply say, and I could tell right away that it is is not a sincere answer.

“Do you want to hear a story?” I said, changing the topic when he turn quiet. “Before I come here.. I have been dreaming of the same thing repeatedly every night. I was scared at first.. when the shadow chasing after me and when I fall down to the black hole.. but it doesn’t hurt. Its not hurt even when I reached to this place..

The dream stop at the same place and time, right before I met you at The Mirror. I will be awake then..” I said, looking at him to examined his reaction. He is listening, but thats it. For some reason he look ethereal at the moment, every single time I look at him I keep realizing on how ethereal he is.

“Could this be one of those dreams? I might forget everything once Im awake”

He shook his head, “I believe those dream stop there, not until now”

Could it be fate.. that we met like this then? His eyes is set on the crying sky, it doesn’t feel too cold now that I have his blazer on me. I wish he doesn’t feel cold instead.

“I think you need to rest” I said, “You have been here and there without resting”
