Book 2: THE Miss ParkThe audacity of her to smile as if she didn't let me search the whole country for her! Dara tilts her head at the guy her best friend have been annoying her non-stop saying he had gone nuts looking for her but he looked like the same Kwon Jiyong she had known.
"Miss Park." Jiyong casually acknowledges her presence, a hand on his pocket while the other is still holding his briefcase, trying to be cool and collected.
Dara chuckled, "I was around the area and saw you but you were occupied so I waited here."
Inside his pocket, Jiyong's fist was curled, stopping himself from jumping on her for a hug. He looked over her shoulders, avoiding to look at her eyes or he might not be able to resist.
"How are the kids?"
"Good." He answers briefly, still not looking at her. Dara looked behind, following his line of sight, which is where his car was, and nodded slowly then hunched her bag strap to her shoulders, ready to leave
"Well, that's good to hear, I waited to see how they're doing. You must have somewhere to be, thank you for your time." Dara bows at jiyong and smiles before walking to leave
Panicked, jiyong held her by the arm, stopping her. "Where are you going?!" His voice going an octave higher for each word
"Uhm.. Home?" Dara raised a brow at him
"Aren't you going to ask me how I'm doing?" He whines, all pretenses to be cool totally gone. Doyoung who was witnessing everything from the distance, inches closer to hear what they're talking about.
"Well, I assume you're doing..." his gaze was so intense that dara faltered and ask what he wants hear. "How are you?"
"I AM NOT FINE!" Dara got surprised by his outburst as Jiyong lets go of her arm and raked his hair in frustration.
"YA!" he glares, loosening up his tie and he paced infront of her as he proceeds to rant "How can you just disappear? Are you a ghost?! You're not in school! Nor are you at your place, Why don't you answer calls? Or even texts? Heck, I even emailed you!"
Calm as ever, dara answered "My father died so I was busy tending family matters"
