The literal definition of the word blink is a fast shutting and opening our eyes. A facial function where eyelids do the work—most of the time very naturally and unintentionally or sometimes intentionally. It is said scientists have shown that the average person blinks 15-20 times per minute. We blink, we stare, we blink, and we stare some more. During that one minute, during those 15-20 blinks, a lot can happen.
We can die in a blink, we can kill in a blink, we can feel sad or happy in a blink, we can make someone cry in a blink, we can make a decision in a blink and we can fall in love in a blink. It’s faster than a second but there’s always something happening between that small amount of time. They may be moments we dearly treasure and love, or perhaps decisions we deeply regret and feelings we would like to forget.
But those moments, those feelings, and those decisions were probably centered on one single person; someone we dearly and deeply treasured and loved; sometimes, even to this day, we still treasure, we still love.
And in just a blink, we would see that person’s face again and in just a blink, we would remember everything about that person. We would remember each moment, each decision, and every single feeling.
