“Cams, Charles’ interview is live now.  Turn on the TV please.” Jasmine requested. She was on the stove cooking Canton noodles for the two of them. 

Camellia clicked the remote. She was giddy and smiling from ear to ear when she saw how entrancing Charles is with his orange hair. 

Camellia placed the noodles on the table. She was putting the food on each of their plates when a fan hollered about his works being outstanding. Her heart swelled with pride and love for her lover. 

“I know these love songs are inspired by your girlfriend. As we all know you’re currently dating.” The interviewer stated. 

She was about to put a chopstick-full of noodles when the emcee said that. She quickly looked at the TV.  She saw how Charles smiled and she felt weird. She felt a tug and a sting in her heart with that statement.

 Suddenly, her favorite pancit canton didn’t look tasty anymore. 

“What’s wrong?” Jasmine noticed the instant change in her emotions. 

Camellia didn’t answer. 

“That’s a sweet & spicy variant. There weren’t any Chili-mansi flavors in the store earlier. We’ll just buy again next — hey, whats wrong?!” Jasmine dropped her chopsticks and hugged her. 

Jasmine consoled her more when they heard Charles answered the emcee with an “of course”. Twice. 

She wanted to give her best friend soothing words like he’s thinking of her when he said that but she can’t because that’s something she herself can never be sure of. 

She hugged her even more when Camellia sobbed loudly. She’s just looking at her best friend crying her eyes out and she felt helpless. She can only hug her and be there for her.
