Chapter 2

Along with everyone else, Doyoung and Jisoo continued to dance. As they contiued to do so, shorty from the punchbowl is coming towards them. 

Doyoung releases Jisoo's hands. 

Alright. Here we go. Signal if you need me.

Just as Jisoo was about to respond to his question. Shorty suddenly forces Jisoo to dance with him. 

So what do you do, Jung Hyun?

Well, I do some short selling on Wall Street back at the States. It's a pretty sweet job.

Back at the buffet section. Their moms are grinning from their interactions.  

Look at those two. Don't their faces reflect good marriage chi?

Your son, Jung Hyun, is such a gentleman. Anyone looks good on his arm. 

Shorty's mom nods and is satisfied by Dara's compliment.

Back at the dance floor, shorty didn't even tried to ask Jisoo some questions as he keeps blabbering about his "pretty sweet career". 

So I said, Listen, idiot, you early terminate this. Then I slammed down the phone. 

As shorty continues to boast his career. Jisoo suddenly stomps Shorty's foot.

Ouch.

Jisoo tries her best to give an apologetic look. But secretly, she's not. 

Oops. My bad. How silly of me.

Doyoung, who is dancing with the cat eyed lady, suddenly cuts off their dance. 

Hey there. May we cut.

Both Jisoo and shorty answered simultaneously.

Doyoung quickly saves Jisoo at the other side of the dance floor. 

Six minutes. I believe that's a new record. 

Jisoo smirks at him and gives him wink. As she looks behind, she catches the cat lady's eyes again. 

Doyoung observes Jisoo and smirks. 

That's my cousin, Jennie. Big deal ballerina with City Ballet. Are you into dancers?

Jisoo gives him a poker face and answers nonchalantly. Me? No.

As Doyoung gives her a twirl, he catches her looking at her cousin's direction once again.

You are SO into her.

I am NOT into her. 

That was convincing.

Ugh. Shut up. Jisoo tried to cover her blushing face. 

Luckily, before Doyoung can anymore, Mr. Myung Hoon Park intevenes their dance.

May I cut?

Doyoung obliges with his request.

Sure, Mr. Park. Nice suit by the way. Looking snazzy as always.

Mr. Park laughs at his compliment and dances with Jisoo.

Jisoo, is he your boyfriend?

Uhmm no. We're jusy friends.

That's good. He's not enough good for anyway. 

Hey! I heard that!

Jisoo laughs and shakes her head.

Mr. Park continues to talk to her. 

You don't want to wait too long. You know what they say, "Forget the meat on the grill and it will dry out". 

Right. So my ma says.

Does she? She's quite a woman. You know, ever since your father passed away, she's been so delicate. As Mr. Park tells her this, he looks at Dara very fondly.

Jisoo then suddenly looks at her mom. She didn't even think about that way.

These odd years, you've been all she has.

Suddenly her mom shouts at her name. 

Jisoo!

Jisoo looks at Mr. Park and bids him farewell. 

Good to see you again Mr. Park. Thank you for the dance.

Jisoo goes to her mom and asks what's wrong.

Jisoo. I'm not feeling so well. Take me home. 

Her grandma chimes in at their conversation

It's those heels, I tell you!

As Jisoo and Dara finds their way at the exit, Jennie's been looking at her direction for too long.
