Flower Crowns
Hana had no idea how long she sat on the seat, staring at the people weaving in and out of the area. The crowd thinned and Hana stiffened a yawn. She checked her phone, surprised that it was 9.30pm. It had been four hours and she didn’t feel the urge to eat. Just as she was about to get up and bring the senses back to her leg, a nurse came to the area. She consulted the clipboard and looked up.
“Ms Son Hayun?” The nurse called. Hana scrambled up, picking up her belongings and went to the nurse.
“That’s me.”
“Dr Young instructed me to tell you to wait at the ICU, she’ll give you a call later,” The nurse replied, handing a pass to Hana. Hana took it numbly and ran to the ICU, her heels clicking furiously. She stopped by the ICU, looking at the nurse by the door.
“Pass please.”
Hana handed her the pass and she nodded. “This way please.”
The nurse led her to Room 12, opened the door and gestured at the chair. “Dr Young will attend to you soon.” She said and left. Hana looked skeptically at the plastic chair, shivering a little. Her phone started to ring and she hastily picked it up.
“Hanny.”
“Fan, how is it? Is she okay?”
“She’s out of danger. Good news is that she didn’t fracture her skull,
