The most important friendships are never the first

Or the second

Or even the tenth

The most important friendships are never defined by age

Or ethnicity

Or zip code

The most important friendships can come from anywhere in the world

A grocery store,

A classroom,

A passer by on the streets

 

The most important friendships are never made by the people in them

They are made by people beyond our comprehension

They are formed and predetermined at birth by those who truly created us

Those who are not gods, or demons

Those who can not be named by one simple name because they are destiny

Destiny is what will brings about the truest friendships into one's life

And it sets them on a path together

 

The most important friendships never seem like them in the beginning

They seem like regular acquaintances in one's life

Until they begin to understand the other in ways they do not even know themselves

 

The most important friendships see through the fake smiles

The lies

The bulls

 

The most important friendships see the pain behind one’s eyes

The sorrow in one’s heart

The despair that lies in darkest parts of one’s soul

 

But these most important friendships are the ones that pull them back from these depths

They give a hand out when the water is rushing in and drowning one’s lungs

They offer words of wisdom in times when one doesn’t know they need it

And most importantly, they love like none has ever loved before

 

They love like no mother or father could understand a child

They love like no soulmate could ever compare

They love like only a true friend can love

 

They accept all the dark thoughts that plague one’s mind

All the the agony that encompasses one’s heart

All the demons that hide within one’s soul

They love unconditionally

They love without doubt

They are the ones you should hold closest to your heart

And never let go
