Foreword
PROLOGUE
“Oppa! Wait for me!” She shouted behind me. Everyday we’d go to school together and for years we’ve been friends. Our parents knew each other. We live in the same neighborhood and we’re obviously bestfriends.
“It’s not my fault you’re such a slowpoke Hae Rin. Walk faster.” I said to her. I was 3 years older than her but that wasn’t a big deal.
“You have long legs oppa. Of course you can walk faster.” She said.
“Just walk faster alright?” She ran towards me and poked my shoulder.
“BAD OPPA.” She said grinning.
BEEP BEEP
We looked at the car behind us. It parked towards the vacant house just across ours. 2 months ago the owner of the house migrated to another country and decided to sell it. I guess it was bought already. Hmm…a new neighbor? I wonder who they are.
“Oohh. Oppa look … I think he’s the same age as me.”
She was right about his age. But … I felt something weird. Something I never felt before. When I saw her so interested at meeting that new guy, I think I felt nervous and … jealous.
That was the time when I discovered my true feelings for her. All the time I thought I only see her as a friend but it was more than that.
“Let’s go. We’re going to be late.” I continued walking and while on the way to school I had this selfish thought.
I was the only guy she knew in this neighborhood until he came.
I hope he won’t cause chaos or anything inappropriate.

“Oppa! Kai! Wait for me!” High school and we continued going to school together but a person was added in the picture, Kim Jong In or Kai. The guy who moved in our neighborhood during middle school.
I had no choice but to befriend him because Hae Rin wanted to. She said that it was the right thing to do. Kai needed friends and we should do the honor.
Years and years went by and I was able to accept the fact that the three of us were good friends. The two were of the same age and they’re classmates. I was a senior so I hang out with them often at school.
Time passed by for months during high school and … I had this sudden feeling.
I didn’t like the friendship the three of us had.
Why did I feel that way?
Because there was something behind how Kai looks at her.
It was different.
I knew that he liked her.
I knew that he wanted her.
I didn’t like that fact.
So while I waited for the right time to confess, I made sure nothing happens between the two.
And until now … I’m still making sure nothing happens.
