The Phone call
Description
For the first time after his comeback Seungri gets to talk to his favorite hyung.
Just a short one-shot inspired by Seungri's amazing album. We all know how proud Ji would've been if he wasn't in the army. A little fluff for all nyongtory fans who have it rough these days.
Foreword
“Hello?” the voice on the other side of the line was husky yet sweet, sending shivers down Jiyong’s body
He had to tighten his grasp around the handset of the phone in order not to drop it. Suddenly his whole body went weak but there was no going back now. Jiyong longed for this moment, he dreamed of it. Why were his palms so sweaty if he dialed the number himself?
“Ri, it’s me…” he finally managed to let out in a shaky voice, earning a gasp from the man on the other side of the line
“Hyung! O-oh my god, hyungie.” Seungri’s voice got even sweeter and more welcoming, with a special childish note which he saved through the years just for his favorite hyung, “H-how are you? Are you eating well? Please, don’t starve yourself. Dress well, hyung, I don’t want you to catch a cold.”
Jiyong chuckled softly as a single tear rolled down his burning cheek. His dearest Seungri kept worrying about his hyungs. He could only imagine how lonely the maknae felt in his empty, cold apartment, despite the beautiful view and luxurious items. Seungri lost four friends – no – he lost four brothers in no time. They basically raised the boy since he was 15 and now he couldn’t even pick up the phone and ask for advice or just tell them how awful his day was.
“I’m fine, Seungri-ah.” Long trembling fingers wiped away the tears as he spoke “I… I heard your song on the radio the other day.”
Silence. Seungri was too scared to speak, knowing how pretentious his hyung was when it came to music. Not only that, Kwon Jiyong is a well know perfectionist. Seungri still remembered the long message the leader sent him after his first “Strong baby” performance, pointing out every little mistake. After “Let’s talk about love” he played the MV for Seungri and pinpointed every little thing he disliked. All the maknae wanted to do was make his hyungs proud, especially Jiyong, but he always failed, ending up as laughing material for them.
“It’s amazing, Seungri. It’s… it’s beautiful. It’s so you and… Jesus.” This time the tears started flowing freely, his voice giving him out to the other man, “I’m getting emotional. I loved it, Ri. You m-made me so proud, little one. I wish I was there with you and see you perform.”
“I… I wish you were here with me too, hyung.” Jiyong could hear Seungri crying for the fist time in many years, “I miss you every single day, every single moment. Living without you is s-so hard.”
“I know, Ri. I know…” the older one let out a loud sigh, trying to calm himself down
Jiyong’s attention was caught by the next man dressed in a military uniform standing next to him impatiently, waiting for his turn to call a beloved one. Sadly, he never got enough time to tell his maknae what he truly feels.
“Ri?”
“Y-yes, hyungie?” Seungri sniffed loudly
“I don’t have much time left. But I want you to know you’re hyung’s little star and you shine the brightest. I’m so proud of you.”
“If I’m your star, then you’re my sky.”
Seungri heard a loud, rough voice on the other side, telling “Kwon” to end his conversation as quickly as he can. It always ended up like this. Five blisfull minutes and Seungri had to wait a whole month for another call while his heart broke into tiny pieces with each passing day.
“Just a little more, babe. I’ll be home soon. I love you.” The younger one closed his eyes and imagined Jiyong giving him one of his famous gummy smiles
“I love you too, baby. I’ll be waiting.”
I don't own the cover. Cr to owner.
