Beat Depression With Me (And Other Disorders)Usually the source of depression varries, but it all centers around the same thing - your mind is telling you things that aren't true and you believe them.
Depression is a chemical inballence in the brain, it causes us to feel and act different from how we would normally be without it. Some days you can feel perfectly fine, other days you can feel like you can't even move. This is not because you're lazy, or stupid or that you just 'don't go out enough' or 'spend too much time playing games' or 'spend to much time alone'
Depression causes you to feel like your only choice is to stay alone because your issues are your own and you don't want to bother people with them. But I'm here to tell you that it's normal to feel this way. It is so stigmatized that depression is 'in your head' or that it's 'something you'll get over' and honestly, no, no it's not something you can get over but you CAN learn to live with it, cope with it, and slowly change the inballance.
Depression may seem like it's caused from financial problems or your love life, or something else entirely, but the truth is humans are social animals, even if you say you're an introvert and hate people, there is a reason that you feel that way. Not because you truely hate people. You ask any introvert and they will tell you they still like when people say something nice to them. Despite not wanting to hang out, most of this behavoir is a learned feeling you get from growing up without any support, you learn to realize you feel safe by yourself, but I'm here to tell you that just because you feel safe by yourself doesn't mean you always are. It's normal to reach out and talk to people and feel that need for human companionship.
If you can do one thing today, compliment someone from this group, on their bias, on their name, on their last profile picture or last feed posts, or even read one of their stories and give them feedback. You can make people feel good and you can make a change.
None of us have to suffer alone.
