Personality:
She’s outgoing and happy. It doesn’t take long for her to get new friends. She loves being noticed, but no attention . She’s always there for her friends and family, without them she wouldn’t be where she is now. Also she is fond of animals, that’s why she is a vegetarian, since she was 11.

Sometimes she can be a little bit clumsy, which doesn’t really match with her athleticism. She tried a lot of different sports like soccer or tennis, but she all abandoned them until she settled on capoeira.

Normally Lily’s always humming some tune or having a song stuck in her head. She really loves music (every kind of music not only KPop and BritPop, but really EVERY kind), playing her guitar since she was 5 and playing the piano since she was 8. She never took real singing lessons until her trainee days, regardless she still has an amazing voice. She won several singing competitions, which she participated in just for fun. Until I was 12 I lived in London, where my dad came from. Then I moved to South Korea, to live with my mom. My parents divorced when I was 8 and mom flew with my older sister back to her family in Korea, while I stayed with dad. They thought it would be better, if I stayed in London, because I was still young and they didn’t want to separate me from my friends. But when I was 12 he got a promotion and was now the CEO of the London Investment Group. He got more distracted with his work, so I thought it was the best for both of us, if I just moved to Korea. So I changed my family name from Hastings to Kim and lived with my mom and sister. I miss my dad but we keep contact over Skype.
Because my mom lives in Busan, I moved in with my sister, who is a medicine student at the Soul National University. My mom said it would be better for me to live in Seoul, because she wanted me someday to attend the Seoul National University, like my sister, and study vocal arts.

Trainee Life~

Trainee Years: 3 and a half

How you became a trainee:
(Lily’s POV)

I got discovered by an agent, while I was at work. Since I was 14 I worked part-time in this small street café, where I sang and sometimes played guitar. I got this job because the owner was a friend of my mom. Since I love singing and music the job was so much fun and didn’t really felt like work.

On one day a SM scout passed by and apparently heard me singing. So he waited until I was finished and then asked me if I want to be a trainee. Of course I wanted to be one, so he gave me his business card. At first my mom wouldn’t allow it because she thought I was too young to join a big company like SM. But after I told her that it’s normal for trainees to be so young and even showed her a few idols that were like 2 years younger than me, she allowed me to audition, she wasn’t really convinced though, but being my mom she supported me.
Two weeks later I had my audition. The judges were impressed by me and my voice, so I became a trainee for SM.

Trainee Background:

My 3 and a half years of trainee-being were quite normal. It was really stressing and often frustrating, like most of trainee lives. But in the end I succeeded and I also got to know a bunch of awesome people.

At first it was quiet lonely with no real friends to hang out, but I was surprised to find out how easy it is to get some. In SMthere are really a lot of people and of course a lot of other trainees too. Most of them were my age, give or take a year, and through all those dance and singing lessonsyou really get to know people.
